Awesome
unexpected
encounter
(context
below)!
This
is
a
beautiful
and
cozy
old
house
more
than
100
years
old,
owned
by
a
nice
and
funny
couple.
It
has
a
lot
of
history
behind
it
(which
the
owners
will
be
happy
to
share
if
you
ask),
as
it
was
previously
owned
by
the
grandfather
of
the
husband.
There's
a
lot
of
antique
furniture,
devices
(old
desk-telephone,
desk-turntable),
relics
(ventilation
system,
heating
pump).
This
is
not
a
typical
hostel
as
the
number
of
rooms
are
limited
and
come
in
various
size
and
shapes.
I
slept
in
a
4-bed
room
(though
I
was
the
only
one),
and
a
couple
slept
in
a
different
room
which
might
have
been
a
single-bed
room.
The
feeling
is
also
very
different,
as
you
are
basically
renting
a
house
and
have
access
to
all
the
cool
shared
spaces
like
the
living
room
and
the
kitchen
(I
don't
know
that
you
can
actually
use
it
to
cook,
but
maybe).
All
in
all,
it's
a
much
more
unique
experience
than
a
hotel
or
regular
hostel.
You
definitely
feel
like
you
have
more
autonomy
than
in
any
other
place.
The
location
is
great
as
well,
it's
a
5-minute
walk
from
the
Train
station.
While
it's
near
busy
Chenggong
street,
it's
located
in
a
smaller
lane
so
the
surroundings
are
surprisingly
quiet.
You
also
have
a
nice
view
of
the
small
streets
from
the
windows.
The
owners
are
beyond
nice
and
the
price
is
fair.
They
don't
run
this
place
like
a
typical
business,
as
I
believe
they
are
retired
and
do
this
partly
out
of
passion.
They
seem
to
care
about
their
tenants
and
enjoy
talking
with
them.
Don't
go
there
if
you
have
princess-like
expectations
about
the
service,
go
to
a
hotel
instead.
However,
If
you'd
like
a
cozy,
independant
alternative
with
a
warm
and
sincere
human
interaction
with
the
staff,
this
is
the
place
for
you.
All
in
all,
one
of
the
best
accomodation
I've
ever
experienced
while
traveling.
Very
unique
place.
Recommended
if
you
like
history.
CONTEXT:
I
met
the
couple
that
owns
this
place
at
a
vegetarian
restaurant
in
downtown
Tainan.
They
were
sitting
at
the
table
next
to
me.
At
first,
they
seemed
amused
and
intrigued
at
my
interactions
with
the
restaurant
owner
(using
broken
chinese).
Next
thing
I
know,
we
were
having
an
awesome
conversation
in
Chinese/English
and
the
lady
especially
was
joking
a
lot
and
asking
many
questions.
As
she
was
also
a
musician
and
a
vegetarian,
she
was
particularly
intrigued.
They
said
that
they
liked
me
and
that
they
hoped
I
would
stay
at
their
hostel
eventually.
The
next
day,
I
was
about
to
leave
Tainan
by
train
but
I
randomly
decided
to
stay
another
night
and
called
them
(through
the
Information
Center
booth
at
the
train
station,
since
I
don't
own
a
phone)
