I had been trying to get on M13โ€™s Taiwan tour for years, and then the pandemic hit. I wasnโ€™t sure if heโ€™d start it up again, so when I finally was able to pull the trigger on the September 2023 tour, it was a decision I'll cherish forever. This thrilling motorcycle adventure took me through some of Taiwan's most breathtaking landscapes, offering an immersive experience that combined adrenaline, culture, and natural beauty in a perfect blend. From the moment I hopped on my bike, I knew this tour was going to be special. M13 was well-organized and provided top-notch equipment, ensuring our safety and comfort throughout the journey. M13 is not only skilled rider but was also knowledgeable about Taiwan's rich history and culture, offering insights that made each stop along the way more meaningful. One of the highlights of the tour was navigating the Central Cross-Island Highway. The hairpin corners carved through lush forests and led us to mesmerizing vistas, including the stunning Taroko Gorge. Riding along these challenging yet exhilarating routes, I felt a profound connection with the natural beauty of Taiwan. The diversity of the terrain we covered was astounding. We went from the chaotic traffic of Taipei to the east coastโ€™s open roads, to the towering mountains of Taroko, and back serene countrysides, where we explored charming villages and tasted authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Our stops at local markets and street food stalls allowed us to savor the flavors of Taiwan, from savory beef noodle soup to mouthwatering meat on a stick. One aspect that sets M13โ€™s tour apart is the camaraderie among riders. The group consisted of riders from opposite sides of the world, and we quickly formed a tight-knit community bound by our shared passion for motorcycles and adventure. The group dynamics added an extra layer of enjoyment to the trip, making it a social as well as a scenic journey. The accommodations were very comfortable with air conditioning and while there were some mornings where early starts meant breakfast on the road (7-11 has surprisingly decent food in Taiwan!) the benefit of avoiding traffic or inclement weather made total sense. M13 went above and beyond to address any concerns or questions we had, making the experience hassle-free. Itโ€™s hard to comprehend how good this tour was, especially when you factor in the very reasonable cost โ€“ he could easily charge more (maybe book it asap before he does!) M13โ€™s Taiwan tour exceeded my expectations in every way. It was a thrilling and culturally enriching adventure that allowed me to explore Taiwan from a unique perspective. Whether you're an experienced rider seeking an adrenaline rush or someone looking to discover the beauty of Taiwan, this tour is a must-do. I left with incredible memories, new friends, and a deep appreciation for the stunning landscapes and warm hospitality of Taiwan. I'll do this tour again in a year or two!

This is by far the best way to experience a country like Taiwan, which is an often overlooked hidden jewel of tourist destinations in southeast Asia. M13 is an experienced tour guide with tons of local knowledge, and does an excellent job of leading both experienced and new riders to the many interesting cultural spots, breathtaking viewpoints, and hidden natural wonders on his tour. He has refined his tour over the 7 years he's been doing them to run smoothly and be even more enjoyable than they were at the start. The accommodations throughout are clean and comfortable, ranging from small family-run bed-and-breakfasts, to resort complexes, to 5-star hotels. The food is amazing, letting you experience all the ethnic flavours of Taiwan, with occasional breaks for more Western fare. If you're an adventurous traveler, and want to really see, smell, touch, and taste the best of Taiwan, then this is the way to do it!

Speaking with my taiwanese relatives and native taiwanese as we rode around the island, they were shocked at the value we got through M13's tours and rentals. Despite coming in with 0 riding experience, I felt very safe with M13's leading. Not to say there weren't some adrenaline-pumping moments. But, they were well-contained within the bounds of his guidance. If you aren't an idiot and follow his few rules, you'll have a blast. There's pretty much nowhere else on the island where you can be assured of the quality of scooters, the honesty of your guide, and his genuine interest in you having the experience that you want to have. Despite how cheeky he comes off, M is a softy at heart and is more flexible than any guide I've ever had in the past. I mean that in more ways than one <3

A friend and I decided to take the M13 Taiwan tour this past November. A review can't begin to describe how great of a trip we had. Let me start by saying I've traveled pretty extensively in China and Taiwan. I tend to be a freestyle traveler and enjoy exploring on my own without an itinerary. Getting lost and finding my way back is one of my favorite things to do. Being this type of traveller I wasn't sure I'd enjoy a planned tour with a group of strangers. I couldn't have been more wrong. The guests on the tour bonded very quickly. We all came from different backgrounds and countries, and some of us including myself have never been on 2 wheels before. We got along great and bonded quickly. Couldn't have asked for a better group of people to share the trip with. I consider each and every one of them a friend and hope to cross paths in the future. M13 taught us beginners how to ride the first day and we all picked it up quickly. He's a great teacher. His sense of humor kept things fun and he really seemed to enjoy himself on the tour. He made you feel more like a friend of his than a customer. Contrary to what he's like in his videos he's actually a really nice person. His dog XiaoMei came along as well and is the coolest dog I've met. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation go elsewhere. We were busy riding, seeing sights, eating and hanging out the entire day, only stopping to sleep. However, it never felt rushed. The tour is packed full of great activities with just the right amount of time spent on each. Accommodations far exceeded my expectations. For the low price of the tour I couldn't believe how nice the hotels/b&b's we stayed at were. Food was a mix of western and Taiwanese and was always delicious. The views you'll see while riding are indescribable. So many times we would come around a corner to a sight that would give me goosebumps. A scooter with a 360ยฐ unobstructed view really is the best way to experience such a beautiful place. Not sure if I'll be able to enjoy traditional travel anymore. The roads were beyond fun and like nothing I've seen before. 25+ turns per mile in some areas was a great way to advance my riding technique quickly. The pace started slower and as the group became better the speeds increased. Never felt too slow or too fast. Between m13, the group of people, the views, the riding, the food and everything else, it made for the best 2 weeks of my life. At a minimum the tour will be a yearly trip for me. No other vacation has come close, it's THAT good. A few tips: Stay a few days before and after if you can, and bring an open mind. Push yourself outside your comfort zone and go with the flow. He's spent 18 years in Taiwan so when he gives advice, take it. If you go on just one trip in your entire life, make sure it's M13's Taiwan tour. You will not regret it.

It would be impossible to experience everything you get on this tour on your own, M13 has lived in Taiwan for 20 years and speaks the lingo so knows all the best spots and which ones to leave out. You get all the fun of cruising the fantastic windy mountain roads (in and above the clouds), whilst experiencing the incredible natural beauty and Taiwanese/Chinese culture.

As the other reviews have pointed out, M is a singular character with a passion for showing people his adopted country of Taiwan. Of all the things I enjoyed on the tour - and there were lots - I think the thing I enjoyed the most was how good of a motorcycle instructor M is. He has your safety front of mind, and spends a good deal of time making sure you're taking turns correctly, being aware of hazards, etc. For someone who had never ridden a bike before, this was much appreciated. Now I've got the bug. It's truly the only way to see a country.

If you are thinking about this, just stop thinking and book the tour now. I had been thinking about it for years and finally decided to do it. BEST choice ever. I didnโ€™t have high expectations of hotels and Taiwan itself and man was I surprised. This is definitely the best bang for you buck tour. Hotels were very nice, food was great even for a picky eater as myself, and scenery was amazing. Iโ€™m an everyday rider and man the roads are amazing and so much fun even on a scooter. Overall amazing time and will more than likely do it again. M is great at what he does and is extremely knowledgeable of Taiwanโ€™s best places to visit.

Book this tour! M13โ€™s legendary tour has it all and Taiwan is the most underrated destination on planet Earth. Taiwan is a truly amazing country. It is full of incredible views, hospitable people, and the thrill of riding through its mountains, coast, and cities. I was blown away that after a half day of riding we would look around and seemingly be in a brand new country. I was able to create friendships with other riders, interact with other travelers, and received special attention from the locals. ;) I was the least experienced rider on our trip (~2 years exp.) and had never ridden in a group before. M13 was able to identify my flaws instantly and gave me a quick coaching session on the first day in order to improve my riding and stay safe. At the same time, I admire that this was not a pussified tour and we did our fair share of speeding and dangerous hikes. I also dropped my scooter in a parking lot โ€“ M13 wasnโ€™t upset but I did get properly roasted by him and the group. In fact, I got roasted a lot by M but it was all in good fun and he definitely is the glue that brings the group together. Oh - his wake up calls are the best. Just like an amazing movie, the pacing of this trip was perfect. No day is the same and every day is better than the previous. I've been on many trips but this one is the first that feels like an adventure. 5 stars

I would recommend M13 to anyone seeking to experience Taiwan on two-wheels. M is a long-time resident of Taiwan and has a good rapport with the hotels and attractions visited on the tour. Accommodations were great and rental scooters were all reliable. Our group of ten guests had no significant issues or crashes and got along great. Riding at your own pace was heavily encouraged and as the tour progressed all riders were happy and found their position within the group. I will return again some day. Even the two days of typhoon Mangkhut were awesome.

M13 provided a custom tour tailored for my needs, together with a new Yamaha Force 155 scooter - these are quick, well handling bikes with really good brakes. He also knows the areas extremely well. Would definitely recommend and perhaps do it again but next time on a bigger bike!

The tour was a fantastic time, it felt like being on a school trip with your mates accept youโ€™re all adults, youโ€™re doing adventurous things with no teacher saying โ€œthatโ€™s probably dangerousโ€ itโ€™s more โ€œhold on, let me get my camera firstโ€. It showed us the side of Taiwan I feel a normal tourist trip would miss simply because the guide would not know or would not think we would enjoy seeing a normal activity or food venue. I got to eat the best fried chicken Iโ€™ve ever had, and it was Taiwanese style chicken not fake western food. M is a great guide, thereโ€™s no awkwardness between the group and him, he says it as it is and it help in making group decisions. If youโ€™re a young person looking for a great experience that shows you real Taiwan I cannot encourage this trip enough. A strong five stars :)

Everywhere I have been to date pales in comparison. Taiwan is a beautiful island with weather that was hard to beat although very hot it was very manageable. the tour was also amazing we went through the mountains and cities and as far as i could tell were shown the best parts of Taiwan. the landscape of this country is amazing and is like nowhere else on earth. The food along the way was one of my personal favorites everything was delicious the was never a meal that i would not have eaten again. The scooters where all great and super easy to drive. i drive a motorcycle and after this trip it just makes me want to sell it and buy a scooter although there are motorcycle options i would never recommend it to anyone going on this tour i seems like a horrible idea. the hotels on the trip were all beautiful and nice. however that never seemed to matter because the time spent in the room was so little. At every town you could find so many different things to do. night life in Taiwan is one of greatest things i have ever experienced with the night markets with so many different vendors it was always interesting to see. Looking back it was worth every penny i spent on the trip and i would not hesitate to do it again. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to see new places even if they have never traveled before this tour makes everything about traveling simple so you don't have anything to worry about but having fun

Taiwan is the most beautiful country that i know. And this tour is the best way to experience it. You will get to tour the road less traveled, allowing you to see more of the actual Taiwan behind the usual tourist spots and the bus tours. And that is where the magic of this country lies. Riding your scooter with your new friends through the countryside, up and down the mountains and along the coast looking over the ocean. Eating the traditional foods of Taiwan and Asia. Hiking through some amazing nature paths and national parks. Just getting to soak in all the different lifestyles Taiwanese people live. These are not the kind of things that you experience on bus tours. I have had the chance to experience this tour twice. The first time will surprise you in more ways than you can count and all the surprises turn in to an amazing experience you will never forget. The second time i thought i knew what to expect. And i was left speechless and amazed by new and wonderful things. M13 tailors the tour perfectly and chooses new places with returning customers in mind. In general, he is a great tour guide, professional and helpful. When he is not performing tour guide duties he's more like an old friend. For the people thinking about doing the tour for the first time, do it and you will think why you haven't done it before. For the people thinking about coming back, the tour is just as good, if not better on the second time than on the first.

This trip was so much fun. The fun started from the moment I arrived until The moment I left. M13 is a real laugh and so were all the other guests on the tour. We travelled about 1000 miles over 10 days, saw outstandingly beautiful scenery and ate wonderful food. The Taiwanese are very relaxed and humorous. This price for this tour is a bargain and I will return to do it again someday. Thanks M13 for a great holiday.

Had a really great time in Taiwan. Scooters are definitely the best way to see Taiwan. I had never ridden a scooter before this trip so we did a few training days around Tauyen before heading off on our trip around the island. I highly recommend getting a tour guide, there are so many cool places to see that you'll never find in guidbooks or online. Gotta get that local intel.

The Guide M was super cool and made me feel like I was visiting a friend who was going to show me around instead of booking a tour with a guide. What you get with M is someone who has lived in Taiwan for 20+ years, speaks the language, knows all the cool spots, and most importantly - the best ways to get there. The Roads M took us through some narrow roads that cut through rice fields, open roads with fast sweeping curves, and mountain roads that were corner after corner after corner. I improved so much and remember thinking to myself that I paid less to have M take me through this tour than I would have for 1 day at the track...and I got my own coach. The Sights It was crazy going through rice fields, cities, temples, rivers, bridges, mountains, all in just ONE day - places I would never even know existed. M does his best to show you the real beauty of Taiwan....and he delivers. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner rider or an experienced one... you are getting a great tour guide to take you through amazing roads through one of the most beautiful countries in the world...the way it was meant to be seen. I was only able to do a day tour this time but will definitely be back!

The tour was a big highlight of my life. I had been planning to join the tour for a while now and would pay every penny to do it again. M13, emerging us into the culture from the very beginning, showed us an amazing and exceptionally beautiful Taiwan. Being on a scooter was the fun part about the tour as it really allows you to engage with the scenery and appreciate the beauty that Taiwan has to offer rather than being stuck on a tour bus. Every day was an adventure.

Explore Taiwan on scooters with the world's first motorcycle vlogger M13. The beautiful twisty mountain roads and chaotic city riding make this an awesome tour for motorcycle enthusiasts. It's a perfect mix of riding and doing a variety of other fun activities, which is all included in the price. If only there were more tours priced and packed full of experiences like this one, I would do one every year. This is definitely a one of a kind tour, take advantage of it!

Having watched M13โ€™s YouTube channel for years, I was thrilled that he accommodated our last minute request for a private tour. Neither my girlfriend nor I had ever ridden a scooter. M13 was a great teacher and guide. He taught us the fundamentals and gave us riding tips throughout the half-day tour as he led us on a progressively more challenging routes. Along the way, we stopped at some interesting spots, including a very local fishing harbor/market and a peaceful Chโ€™an Buddhist monasteryโ€”not the usual tourist destinations and a worthwhile experience of local flavor. This short tour was a highlight of our Taiwan trip. Thanks to M13, JD and XiaoMei for a memorable day. I highly recommend this unique and personal experience, and look forward to trying out a longer tour on the next Taiwan visit.

It was my first time visiting Taiwan so I wasn't sure what to expect. I've been riding a scooter for several years so I knew that I will comfortable riding. M13 has a vast knowledge of Taiwan that helped for the extra days I was there. The Tour The roads are all paved so most of the ride isn't rough. The views from the roads are beautiful. From the coastal roads, valleys and the high twisty mountains. You even ride amongst the locals during rush hour traffic which is quite the experience. Everyday was a great way to earn more confidence while riding in a new country. Overall by the end of the tour I knew I was a better rider. A highlight for me was going through the national park and climbing a mountain. By the end I felt a sense of achievement but also comradary because of our group lead by M13. If you're planning on going to Taiwan do this tour! It's the best way to see the Island and great value!

(Translated by Google) A crazy experience in Taiwan - I planned to travel the island over a weekend, when the original plan was to stay in Taipei. Luckily, while searching for other options, I came across a "M13" about motorcycle trips on the island. The trip for me started a few weeks ago, when M contacted me and started to build a track for two days. Continuous contact was created throughout the period. When I got to the island, M suggested that in order to take advantage of the two days we had planned the best, we would sleep with him the night before and with no additional charge - really not taken for granted. The next morning, I went out with a friend and together with M on the way. Start a simple drive south along the coast and later in the day turn east and start climbing mountain roads. The route was amazing !!! We came to amazing places and discovered other aspects of Taiwan that in any other way of a simple trip we would miss. M spoke fluently Chinese, so there were lots of encounters with locals and when we could communicate with them, we discovered how simple the people on the island were and always willing to help and make conversation. During the day you stop to eat in amazing places - everything is special and tasty. The style of training is also different from the usual - there will be no historical, geographical and economic reviews, but immediately from the first moment the feeling is that a friend, a local resident, wants to host, show everything that the island has to offer and enjoy on its own. Awesome tour, it was more like exploring Taiwan with a great group of friends. This is by far the best way to experience taiwan.

JUST DO IT Ive never traveled before because i had no interest in doing so but after a mate asked me if i wanted to this this tour im so glad i did, this is a proper 'adventure tour', and i may be back to do it again. M13 is an awesome bloke it's like hanging out with a mate he will take you to the touristy places as usual, BUT you will go places no other tourists will go. From riding the scenic coast lines to twisty mountains and cruising through all the back roads through farms and villages you will see parts of Taiwan you will not see from sitting on a bus. M13 speaks the language fluently so its really easy and stress free when your interacting with locals. Being an experienced rider i can say that if you have no experience what so ever, you will get more riding skills from this one trip than taking lessons for a year. He will teach you as the days go by and dont worry you do get a day to practice before you leave for the tour itself so you're not getting thrown into the deep end. Food was great, hotels were great, locals are so friendly, Grab a few mates, book the tour, and enjoy is all i can say.

I had been wanting to do M13s tour around Taiwan for quite awhile and in July I finally did. It was one of the best experiences I have had. Taiwan has bueatiful scenic views and M13 took us to many breath-taking spots. All the accomodation we stayed in was great and the meals where also, with a variety of everything through-out the tour. Everyone was a stranger to each other at the beginning of the tour, but we soon became friends and had good craic from start to finish and still keep in touch. The scooters where all top notch and comfortable to ride. I hadn't any experience riding a scooter before but M13 is a good teacher and with his guidance I soon became a proficient rider and completed the tour without any mishaps. I am so glad I did the tour and I would recommend it to everyone, it has everything for everyone from cities, mountains, coast lines and forrests... I have attached a few of the many pictures taken from the tour to give an example of the views. Also check out M13s YouTube page which includes footage from the tour.

Even if you don't have any experience being on a motorcycle/scooter, you should still do this tour. He's a great guide and very knowledgeable. Very patient in teaching people new to scooters. I have never been on a scooter before this tour and he was able to help me get comfortable on one. It's a great way to see the country on two wheels. Great sights to see when out and about on nature walks, tons of history in the museums. Monkeys on the side of the road fighting was fun to see.

I did a 10 day tour in September with m13. It was good fun on a budget. The riding was excellent, the road users are safety conscious and the bikes were reliable. From sea level to 11,400 feet where the view was fabulous. The tour is not your typical one but the guide is endlessly entertaining. Murray
