Ismoil Somoni is situated on Ozodi square. The height of the monument is more then 25 meters. This monument was placed in 1999 in honor of 1100 anniversary of the state of the Samanids. The monument is richly decorated with gold and looks impressively. Before, here was Lenin Monument. The square was named after Lenin

An unusual view to the Ismoil Somoni Statue in snow. The monument is the landmark of Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe and remembers the national hero of the country. This monument was erected 1999 to honors the 1,100 anniversary of the Samanid Empire

Massive arch. The statue is a must visit in the city. The surrounding park is also beautiful.

The most eminent sort of thing that is to be watched when you visit dushanbe. The overall park and its nearby places are more worthy to spend your leisure time. Evenings are more beautiful... More arrangements are done in the park during the navruz holidays.

Located at the heart of this vibrant city a selfie, group photo or just a pic with the mountainous backdrop are all high on most visitor's lists. Ismoil Somoni is considered by most modern Tajiks to be the national hero of Tajikistan. The statue of this ancient king can be seen in most major towns and cities across the county. However, this Dushanbe giant is one of the most memorable located in Dusti square. The actual figure of Ismoil Somoni is 13 meters high although his surrounding arch extends the total statue to an impressive 43 metres , it is all topped off by a golden crown

This monument is perfect for some great photos in the early morning or early evening. The statue is framed perfectly by the arches and the orientation is such that you can enjoy some amazing views as the sun set casts light on the crown that sits on the arch above the statue. It’s a must see spot in Dushanbe.

I'm really not sure what else to do but admire the statue then walk away. It's nice but unsure if it's worth the visit.

Neat looking monument but there is an official at the top who yelled at everyone who walked up the stairs. Strange as the stairs are wide open and the view from the top towards the state emblem is supposedly great. It’s strange that Tajikistan hired somebody to make people to feel slighted and uncomfortable around one of their National heroes. Local Tajik boys were playing on the stairs and left crying. They’ll grow up to have a bad feeling about Ismail.

Stunning art work of Ismoili Somoni. The square is really big. You can see it from the distance and enjoy walking there.

Very nice, especially at dusk or at night when the lights are on. Too bad there are so many photographers (like 20 of them) trying to take your picture.
