(Translated by Google) Isaam was called "anything shop" by our fellows. Because I was old with Yoshiko Yamaguchi, I ended up with Isamu, but thanks to it, all the lighting in my house was measured by Isamu, and it was pointed out that Isamu made up the outside light. Both Isaam and our colleagues thought that he would die sooner, but he lived quite a long time, this is the line when he died. I didn't even ask why I liked the Aji stone, but I was using it in my later years with Yadara. Well, that's why it's here too. It might have been reflected in the artist externally, but he was a good, ordinary, good man among his friends, well, if he was interested, he wouldn't come here. I can't go home unconsciously, it's fine art.

The sight is not easily accessible. Walking distance from Kotoden Yakuri Station is 1.5km, no Taxi, and you need a pre-reservation. The sight mostly exhibits work-in-progress. Therefore you can gain a good impression about Noguchi's working and living environment but not so much about his works. For his Brooklyn museum it is just the other way around. The personnel is friendly and helpful with limited English explanations. The "no photographs" restriction is executed as obsessivly as absurd as for most other sightseeing places in Japan. Fotos do not damage the sculptures and do not disrupt others religious sentiments. May be over a longer timeframe the Japanese bureaucratists will come to the same conclusion. Unfortunately no print for sale to compensate this shortage in the meantime.

The once in a life time experience for a Noguchi fan. I remembered falling in love with his sculptures in Noguchi New York. Here is like a Mecca to his work ethic. In Japan, you can take a look at how he worked behind the scene. He also has part of his ashes in one of the huge sculpture on top of the hill in the museum and the rest are in Noguchi New York. This is an only by reservation museum, so prior email reservation is a must. The tour guide lady speaks perfect English. Can take taxi from the nearby train station or a 15 minutes walk through the stones shops which was part of the whole experience for me. Don’t forget to visit the famous Udon shop nearby afterwards.

Big admirer of Noguchi and this is a wonderful site. Breathtaking sculptures both in the garden and in a large “shed”. Possible to peek inside his house as well (from the outside). I don’t understand why we couldn’t take photos though!? It is neither cheap nor easy to reach to the museum. I think the museum should review this absurd photo ban. Today there are even cameras in eyeglasses, how should they protect such a ban? Homepage was not up to date so many of the metal artwork was on loan which was a bummer. Would have been nice with some kind of souvenirs only available on the site.

(Translated by Google) The way of advertising the web and pamphlets is excellent, but when you actually go there, there is a lot of people in the group, so it's hard to settle down. The place where you can take a photo has been decided. The guide was a cold impression for art beginners. I'm mistaking to stay high and conscious. It may have happened to be a bad guide I want you to make an effort to convey the goodness of sculpture more. Many tourists came without knowing anything. Since I collected stones from all over the world and created them, Tsujiishi is nothing special, Isamu Noguchi is active in the world and what was in Kagawa was simply introduced to a stone wholesaler. I was talking about something like that. I was disappointed.

We reserved by email 2 weeks before. The visit to this museum completely changed the way we view Noguchi. This place is amazing. Everything has been kept exactly how Noguchi would have liked it to be. We were the only 2 visitors this day so we had the whole gardens and buildings to ourselves. We felt very special to be granted access to such pristine grounds. Every stones were freshly washed. The grounds were raked. Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful all the way to the smallest details. This museum is one of the best on earth. We cannot wait to come back to Shikoku and come to see Naguchi's museum again and again. <3

(Translated by Google) Admission is by reservation. It is necessary to choose one of the 10 o'clock, 13 o'clock, and 15 o'clock times for fire, wood, and soil in advance by round-trip postcard. Although the works displayed here are stones, they all seem to be full of the artist's lively vitality and passion. If you think that he lived here and created works, it seems that the energy of the past still remains. I strongly felt that the origin that played an active part in the world is here. Pre-procedure may be difficult, but I think it is worth visiting once. Absolutely fascinating place: his studio, house, the sculptures, and particularly his tools. Even the immediate vicinity is interesting because of the huge slabs of stone on the roadside. We came away thinking we had really come close to the man and his work.

We had a difficult time getting here and communicating with the staff, but it was well worth the effort. Really soulful to see this place if you love art, sculpture, and Noguchi, Be sure to have cash if you are taking a taxi. The museum only takes cash as well. And be sure to have Google translate on hand!

(Translated by Google) In the words of Isamu Noguchi, "To see nature through the eyes of nature, to win the fine equality of spirit and material, artists must immerse themselves in nature research as a unity, to make themselves part of the earth. To look at the inner figure and the elements of life, "he says, which is essential as an artist. Should his later masterpiece "Energy Void" be interpreted as "the great power that exists in an empty space"? One theory is that this work represents "mother" or "universe" ... which one? Even so, there is no doubt that great natural energy beyond our human understanding, which creates new life and new stars, is working in the empty space ... When you see the work in front of you, you can feel the overwhelming power, the awe of all things, and the sense of security that you will be wrapped up somewhere.

During production and finished products He showed me a lot of works. The hillside garden in the museum is wonderful! It seems that you cannot enter even if you visit suddenly. Advance reservation is recommended. (Translated by Google) A reservation-only museum. Please apply for a return postcard at least 10 days prior to your desired visit date. The place is the former Mure-cho, away from Takamatsu city. It took about 40 minutes when I went from Takamatsu station to Mamachari for trial. Sweaty despite February. The place is deep down from the main street, but there are signs in some places, so it is not enough to be careful if you pay attention. The viewing is 30 minutes in the atelier area and 30 minutes in the residence / garden area, led by the staff. When the time comes, you will hear a voice and move. In the atelier area, dozens of works are lined up. Looking at the whole picture and watching each one, I felt that it was not enough for 30 minutes when I looked closely. I wanted at least 30 minutes. I was dissatisfied with only that. The staff members explained very lovingly, and they answered the questions carefully, so I feel very good. A few months before his death, Noguchi worked in his atelier and left him saying, "I will ask you to come back." He died in New York that year. It is a peaceful space that is likely to return, as if Isamu Noguchi had been there just before, and it is worth visiting Takamatsu just to come here.

(Translated by Google) You cannot enter unless you make a reservation by postcard, fax, or email. Shooting is prohibited in the museum. The house in the photo is the reception building, which is a little far from the museum. The other photo is a stone in front of the museum. The stone in front of the museum is instructed by the staff, "You can shoot only here." Other than that, it is prohibited to shoot from outside the site including works and buildings. There are 2 tours in 1 hour. First, 30 minutes in the space of the exhibition warehouse where the work warehouse and the famous "Energy Void" are displayed. After that, it was 30 minutes in the sculpture garden that climbed the Isamu house and stairs. There are few explanations from the staff, but if you have any questions, please answer carefully. We had a total of 8 people, including 4 groups, including us, so we could see it very slowly. Please make a reservation and go. Book a visit with the excellent guided tour in English & Japanese. Yeah. I know. You can’t take photos but honestly Noguchi was a mad genius who spent the two best seasons Autumn & Spring here in a dead end Masonic stone end of town, so celebrate that with a sneaky pic.

This was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip to Japan. If you love abstract 20thC sculpture and traditional Japanese buildings, this is a must see. You need to fill in a form on the website to visit. Don’t let that put you off. This is an utterly beautiful place which deserves to be better known. We took the bus from Takematsu.

(Translated by Google) It was a treasure trove of 15-20 minutes walk from the station, but it was a really worthwhile exhibition and space. I can see his birthplace and the working place in the back of the mountain. In the big yard of the work space, there are scattered things in the process of working with stone and finished works, and there are finished works inside the building for exhibition. His birthplace can not be seen inside but can be seen from the outside. It is a gem that he built in commemoration of his 70th birthday. The view of the village from the top of the garden makes the breasts bloom and the location of the trees and stones is amazing. The exhibition must be booked in advance and can be toured with the guide at the scheduled time. The reception area opens about an hour before the tour. The tour will be conducted in Japanese but will be explained separately in English. The admission fee was around 2160 yen, but only cash payment.
