The gentleman who greeted us and took our orders, an older gentleman who certainly looked like he owned the place - was very hospitable. Welcoming and warm he was. Warm legendary cup. Cold Windy Osaka morning. Sipping history.

If there is no empty seat, you can hear the woman in the kitchen yell at the customer. "I can not take you." The irritated western woman in traditional Japanese costume is ruining the atmosphere of 100 year old coffee shop. It is very odd to watch her making coffee in the 100 year old cafe.

Chances upon this shop and intrigue with the 100 year old tag! A small lovely joint and very friendly English speaking owner. Ordered the Columbia medium roast and donut. The coffee is grind and tasted beautiful, full body and aroma. The donut is on the harder type but goes well with the coffee. Going to make this my regular joint!

One of the oldest cafe in Osaka. They still making coffee and donuts with old appliances. The atmosphere is cozy and nostalgic. The place is small so there is chance you can not get a chair. I tried their 100-year blend coffee, their original signature that has been served for a century. The taste is not strong, but relaxing enough. Together with their signature donuts which is more like a cake, making the coffee taste really good. If you have time, you should try this place.

The best coffee experience we had in Japan! The shop has some old school touches that is incredibly warm. The boss is welcoming and always smiles. The coffee has a great balance of bitter/sour/smooth. And looking at the boss brew the coffee is a joy. The donut, it has the solid taste that I feel like having more and more. Love the store, love it love it love it.

Small space and they won't accomodate a group bigger than 4. I had a coffee while the rest of my group went elsewhere. Hundred year blend is great though.

Nice morning coffee with a touch of 100yo blend and culture. Owner is welcoming and speaks good English.

Great experience drinking coffee here. Staff are professional and zen like. Barista brews coffee with tremendous detail. Don't come here expecting an expensive espresso machine where they pull shot after shot. Coffee goes into a pot of water for 30 sec and is squeezed out through a reused cheese cloth. Every glass is brewed by hand and with great care. Barista was kind enough to give me the recipe. Will see how im able to recreate at home. I got the iced coffee prepared in a shaker with steel iced cubes. Thr regular 100 year blend hot. The baked donut. And the tea donut.

English menu is available. It is cozy and ancient. Hundred’s year blend hot is mellow, not dark. Mixed fruit is very good.

It is an old-fashioned Japanese-western coffee shop and has 100 years history here. Whenever you walk into such kind of coffee shop, you find the old days back. Good atmosphere and friendly people. The coffee is hand-dripped and the coffee beans are roasted in the shop by the second- or the third-generation owners. The doughnut is also good to have one with a cup of coffee, perfect combo (600 yen only) for your short break in the afternoon here. The shop is not big and not smoking-free.

Been there to try their coffee and donut. I tried their hundred years blend coffee and donut. Staff were very friendly. The coffee was strong and the donut complimented the taste. Will definitely pass by them again.

I first saw this place from a Youtube video on coffee in Japan, so I told myself I had to go when I visited Osaka. The pour-over coffee was amazing! I got it with a donut which perfectly complimented to coffee. I highly recommend this place for any lover of coffee!

I can confirm that this small but cozy cafe is excellent. Not a long menu but you can feel that they are doing coffee in their own traditional way and you are simply tasting history here. Locals come here for small talks and chill. Great.

Hiraoka Coffee is definitely the place to be if you’re searching for home roasted and old fashioned coffee in Osaka. Opened almost 100 years ago, Hiraoka remains a small yet cozy coffee shop around its neighborhood. Don’t miss out its “hundred-year-old” coffee (a special blend using old time recipe) and homemade donut, they’re simply match made in heaven.

Quaint old school type of coffee shop. Worth visiting. Impeccable service. Amazing how it's been in business for more than 100 years!

The coffee is nice but not surprisingly good, it’s a cozy cafe with old style decoration. However, it didn't make any pleasant experience because of the poor service from the foreign hostess in Japanese traditional costom, the way she yelled at me for dont taking photo of her (which i was not ) was the rudest , it’s totally unacceptable when everybody speaks so softly with great manner in this beautiful city. She ruined the day of mine and also the lovely 100 years coffee house.

👍👍 Go to the basement floor which has all kinds of food stalls and specialty stores. Go there an hour before closing and most of the packaged food items will be discounted like 30% or Y300 off. It’s great deal for budget travel. They also have very good yogurt drinks and other bakery items.

👍👍 Had to wait ~15 min to enter at 10am on a Friday. The beef curry rice was ok. The pancake was nothing special, borderline disappointing. The cafe au lait was decent though. The star of the show was the french toast. It has this melt in your mouth sensation which was quite unique. Felt like eating...
