One of the best coffee that I’ve ever had! Mel coffee roaster is recognized as Asia’s best coffee and they have many specialty coffee selection here at store. The price is a bit pricier than other ones but the quality is the best! Came in at the hot day, definitely have to order the iced coffee rather than the hot one. The Ethiopia Shakisso Honey one great represent itself! The smell, the freshness and so refresh! Plus they served iced water outside and big fan. I’m glad I came by and definitely will come back again when I’m in town.

Awesome Geisha coffee! The staff are all friendly and speak English very well. They gave me some free samples as they were quite busy when I arrived and had to wait a short time, but it is worth the wait. Got some Ethiopian natural beans to take home as a souvenir.

There was no signboard on the wall of the shop (exterior wall, etc.), so it was hard to confirm that it was "Mel Coffee Roasters"☕...but the wonderful aroma of coffee wafted up even a little distance from the shop. You can see that it is a popular store!! ️(There is just a small sign with the photo posted📷 in front of the store...👀) Of course, there were many customers, including foreign tourists, all the way to the outside of the store!? *Foreign tourists are taking their own commemorative photos and videos in front of the store...but why so much?❔❔❔ ...Customers are still flocking to the store, but the name of the store has been posted on the outside wall!! ️👀…😎

Discovered this coffee spot at an Osaka street corner, captivated by its distinctive concept—compact yet rich in the coffee experience! Unbeknownst to me, it has become a place that keeps calling me back to Osaka. 💖 Their hand drip coffee its special, and personally crafted by the incredibly friendly barista!!! Totally smitten with the Kenya beans brewed by Mell Coffee Roaster Can't wait for my next visit! Thank u, Mel ☕️🌟

My review is on the coffee beans I received from my friend. I love them so much I have to write a review on the beans. The aroma is perfect for me and despite it smells a bit fruity but it’s not sour at all. When we visit Osaka we must pay a visit ! Wish they could ship their beans internationally!💕

Came for a cold brew, but they were sold out. So ended up getting a iced coffee (medium roast) from Kenya. So glad that sold out on the cold brew, because this is the best over coffee I had in a while. Highly recommend coming here, they have a huge selection of beans as well. And to top it off, they were very polite. That is a rare trait in baristas nowadays. Keep it up Mel's. You'll be seeing a lot more of me from now on. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Excellent coffee shop with variety of coffee beans around the world in Osaka. The coffee shop is small but packed the quality. Standing while drinking cafe latte is such a great experience here. Barista and staff are very friendly and well-communicated in English that makes it easy to choose the menu. Highly recommend this coffee shop.

Petite corner speciality coffee shop in central Osaka Shinmachi. Their hand pours are insanely good, well balanced and fragrant. The lovely owners are extremely passionate and meticulous about their trade, will spend the time to explain their processes and each blend. Only seating available is a bench outside. Best coffee shop Asia #2 World #3

If you are a big fan of coffee, you should come here! After trying many coffee at different local shop at different city, this is the best coffee so far that I’ve ever tried. I tried their iced cafe latte for ¥500, and it was fantastic. The smell was so good, it’s light but flavorful, just perfect for me. You can enjoy your coffee at the small bench at the outside.

I had two pleasant cups of coffee. One of the best coffee i’ve tasted so far. The caffe latte with the espresso blend is so creamy, sweet and smooth. The Americano I had was using Kenyan Beans. Very floral, smooth, sweet, and clean aftertaste. Definitely would come back again if I had the chance. Their beans are up for sale as well.

Great experience in a small coffee shop. The staff speaks excellent English and even a little bit mandarin, and super friendly and chatty in everything. The coffee is also great! The only thing needs to be noted is the price of coffee is higher than usual coffee store. Be sure to check the prices of each coffee before you make decision.

Best coffee stand and roaster in Osaka! A small tiny shop with just few benches outside, but always with long queues. They provide lots of different coffee bean choices for both espresso or hand drip. Went there a few times to try different blends and coffee, all tasted great, very well balanced and smooth. You can also see the boss roasting coffee beans while waiting in line!

Definitely a must-visit for a specialty coffee hobbyists/people in the coffee industry. The owner/roaster happened to be there and he was very nice. He mentioned that they'll have a larger space still in Osaka.

Nice service. Good coffee. They have 2 kind of coffee bean in the menu, dark and light, we try both and it's very good. They also have drip menu that you can choose the bean that you prefer. You can ask barista, roaster if you're not sure. Recommended!

Really nice coffee, we tried both the latte expresso light and blend (iced and hot) it has very appealing and smells amazing! Nice and cozy place, the owner was very friendly, spoke with us about the beans and recommended the best blend based on our likes and dislikes. We found out that “Mel” is actually short for “Melbourne” 😁

The owner is the authority on coffee roasting. But at the end of the day, it all depends on your taste. I’m not a huge fan of bitter coffee which the owner seem to like more but you could specify what you’re looking for and he’ll point you to the right direction. Continues to research experiment and develop the art. Kinda reminds me of tasting good wine. It’s pretty deep

I haven’t been to the roaster in Osaka yet, thanks to my friend who carried their roasted beans back to Thailand. I brewed Mel’s Columbia Geisha at home, supreme high quality bean with perfect roasting craftsmanship. Highly recommend anyone to try their beans both at actual roaster and purchase to brew at home.

Fantastic coffee and friendly service. Masa roasts the beans right in front of you. Masa explained to me that he got his inspiration for coffee from living in Melbourne and hence the store was named ‘Mel’.

Great coffee, especially if you like coffee that is lightly roasted. My drip coffee comes with a small card that tells the story of the bean being used. There are a few benches and seats available outside the shop but the shop is mainly set up for takeaways. The staff also speaks some English and they are very friendly.

The roaster and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about coffee. They have a variety of single-origins and blends from different roast profiles to suit your taste. I had the Karindudu AA - Kenya as a pourover, and it was delicious. Coffee is roasted on a beautiful Probat roaster in the open at this small shop, which is nice to see as a customer - another part of the coffee process. A must-visit for those who appreciate specialty coffee!

Very nice place, great coffee which is freshly roasted right in the shop.. I enjoyed talking to the staff, they are all very friendly and have a good knowledge about coffee! The shop sells not only freshly brewed coffee (Espresso, Flat White and Drip Coffees) but also roasted beans for your home brewing pleasure. Can clearly recommend!

Even though it rained a lot and it was difficult to drink take-out, the coffee and service were so good that it was a happy experience that was left as a good memory^^ It was a cafe with a reason why people waited in the rain to get takeout. I will enjoy the coffee beans^^

I went on a rainy day, and I was worried about drinking it because it specializes in takeout!!! For some reason, there were a lot of customers waiting in line, and we ordered two cups of coffee to take out while waiting in line, and bought coffee beans. It's a small cafe, but they do their own roasting inside. There was a lot of space and a variety of coffee beans, so I had a lot of trouble choosing the coffee beans^^ The body of the coffee was just right, and the savory coffee was rich and nutty~ The acidic coffee was a good coffee restaurant where you could feel the acidity! I understand why there were a lot of customers even though it was raining😊 If I visit Japan again next time, I have to stop by here again^^ I enjoyed it~ I will drink the coffee beans well too🙈👍

Please take into account that coffee is a favorite food. I purchased Colombian Geisha by hand drip for 1,500 yen. (The more expensive Geisha is 4,500 yen, so I couldn't bring myself to buy it^^;) However, I was so embarrassed because it tasted like Nicaragua stir-fried with pesto beans, which I once drank. Haha. Anyway, it's not my taste.

👍👍 Go to the basement floor which has all kinds of food stalls and specialty stores. Go there an hour before closing and most of the packaged food items will be discounted like 30% or Y300 off. It’s great deal for budget travel. They also have very good yogurt drinks and other bakery items.
