I don't get the reviews saying that the owner was rude.. I almost didn't go in because of that but I changed my mind at the last minute and I couldn't be more glad that I did!! The interior was really vintage and beautiful and the food was real lovely, and so was the tea and ginger ale:) Loved all the vinyls and the rusty books that added to the cozy atmosphere!

I'm a bit conflicted, the place is quite nice, the music and the interior are peaceful. The food was not wow but ok, especially the Earl Gray tea. What made the visit not so stellar is that the minute I opened my laptop the owner ordered me to shut it down ( if it was written somewhere, then sure, their place their rules, but it wasn't ). I've ordered several items and wasn't planning for staying too long and wanted to check a couple of things and didn't bother anyone so it was an unpleasant surprise, to say the least.

When it’s busy, the owner is not that friendly, as other have said, he seems to be less organized, hence I guess it’s a bit hard to keep up during busy hours. But I can see him being a nice and warm guy, if you do speak japanese, and it’s not that crowded in the cafe. Food is just alright, either you eat with your hands, or the owner forgot to give me forks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Go for coffee more than the toast imo, the kettle with steam and the shelf full of cups make it quite cozy. HOWEVER! If you go during busy time, it IS hard to enjoy it. Also to people concerning about taking pics in the cafe, the owner said it’s ok, as long as you don’t point camera to other costumers. Also the atmosphere here is quite tranquil and chill, good for reading books... however when I was there, two japanese ladies sat next to me keep on making loud conversations ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Bad behaviors are universal lol

Housed in an old Japanese shophouse, this cafe has a retro charm to it. With old jazz playing softly at the background, served with antique glasses and the dim lightings together with the natural sunlight beaming through the glass panels made you travel back in time as you take a sip of coffee and a taste of their dessert cake. This is a very quiet cafe with a sense of Japanese calm so please respect their tranquillity and peace. Just sit back and relax to enjoy the coffee, have your quiet time. Enjoy the music and talk to the baristas at the counter if you want to find out more about this place.

Warm and friendly host with a fantastic jazz record collection. Building displays the beautiful heritage of Japanese architecture. Coffee was delicious, as was the toast!

Nice and quiet coffee shop in a rustic house in the center of Nakazakicho. The owner makes a good coffee and the pastries are good too, although they are usually too sweet for my taste. It's a perfect place to read a book, or just relaxing. When the weather is fine, the owner opens the coffee doors and you can see people walking by on the street. This area is busy on Weekend and it is popular among locals and tourists alike.

One man shop, time slows down inside, don’t be in a rush. The cheese cake, cinnamon toast, and homemade ginger ale are incredible. A big highlight from the trip. Owner is friendly.

Proper barista coffee from all over the world, high quality cakes 🍰 , old Japanese house with plenty of personality and spirit. Best place to disconnect and recharge.

Very tasty coffee and cakes. I got the single origin Brazilian French roast and the chocolate cake. Both great! Amazing vibes in this place. It's so mellow with great jazz and classical piano music playing quietly. Most folks were fairly quiet too. Owner let us flip through the books on the shelf as well!
