I was highly disappointed with my experience at the Pokemon Cafe in Osaka, Japan. First and foremost, the food prices were exorbitant, nearly four times higher than what you can find elsewhere, and the quality was nothing to write home about. To make matters worse, the staff's handling of a situation involving a young child was incredibly disappointing. The child was simply dancing with excitement during a Pokemon dance number, not bothering anyone or getting in the way. Instead of understanding and accommodating this child's enthusiasm, the staff rudely asked them to sit down, making the child feel bad. It was a clear display of being out of touch with the joyful and carefree spirit that Pokemon is supposed to represent. This incident left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would not recommend this cafe to anyone looking for an enjoyable Pokemon-themed experience.

It’s a dream place for kids and parents! The cafe is fully furnished with illustrations and plushes of Pokémons. Every menu features Pokémon characters and some have souvenirs that you can bring them back when you leave. You can choose lattes with your favorite Pokémon on it. This cafe is so much popular and full that you can’t forget to reserve your seats before visiting there. Otherwise you have to wait for hours. And of course, don’t forget to bring your cameras. You can take photos of everything in the cafe but other visitors. It’ll sure be 1 of the best experiences for you, and more importantly for your kids, you can get in Japan.

Main dishes were so disappointing. Food was not good, everything on the table was cold and stale. Soup was luke warm, bread was dry, the steak was barely even hot. I guess you come for the experience? The drink and dessert is good, coffee is good too. 2 people and the bill came to be close to ¥9,000 and the food was not even close to be good. Best thing was you get to see the Pikachu performance. Make sure you eat quick, reservation time is 90 minutes so you’ll be asked to leave because they’ll clear the area for the next groups to come in. During Pikachu performance, food and drink will be paused for a long time so make sure you order before so you’ll get extra time to eat and at least enjoy and chill.

Cute experience and food presentation was really cute. Everything cute. Going in, we knew food weren't going to be amazing but it was still decent! There wasn't a whole lot of variety to choose from (I think only 5 options). Food came out in lightning speed! Definitely need to be booking in advance, good luck! If you can't secure a reservation, it's okay, you're not really missing out either.

Entertaining cafe for all Pokemon fans. The cafe serves Pokemon themes food and drinks. Also merchandise can be bought here. I can recommend going here.

Worth a visit for Pokémon fans. Food was.. as expected. You can pickup some unique plushies and stuff here not available at the Pokémon Centers. Reservation recommended. English service should really be much better given it being located in Osaka and the number of tourists visiting.

Definitely the cutest place ever! However, the food sucks. Not knowing how people can say it tastes ok 🤨 Japanese sweets is always the best in the heaven, while here shows the hell.

Perfect for Pokemon fans! Food was good and the atmosphere and service is superb! You have to book a slot at least a month in advance but it's worth the wait.

Very disappointed - we knew going in expectations weren’t too high on the food and this was more of an experience. However, it was so poor that despite love of Pokemon I’d actively advise not going - the food was borderline inedible, with stale ingredients in both our (expensive) dishes. I’m only giving it 2 stars not one because the designs were cute and the dancing Pokémon in the cafe made a lot of kids very happy. I’ve lost a bit of respect for the Pokémon company for such a name-trading cash grab. The food wouldn’t even have to be amazing to make this ok, but it’s below a minimum acceptable standard.

**Requires reservation in advance** Luckily, when we visited, they were fairly empty on a weekday and were able to give us the next available slot. The food cafe is well decorated with Pokémon theme, and kids will love it. They offer souvenirs near the registers such as the Snorlax plates and other cute silverware and cups. We had a Sobble cream soda which may look appealing, the taste leaves something to be desired. I feel like folks would enjoy the Pikachu drink a lot more. The Snorlax rice plate was also overpriced in my opinion for the food quality; but at least it was very appealing to the eyes.

Keep in mind, this is a smaller version of the main one in Tokyo. They only take reservations, which you can make online. The website lets you make reservations about 2-4 weeks in advance. Dining experience is also limited to a 90 min time limit. It was located on a certain floor in shopping mall. We were seated promptly during our arrival. Ordering is through an iPad and there is English in there. The staff however had very limited English, which google translate came in. Both foreigners and local families with children made up of the customers. We ordered the scorbunny meatball plate with side salad and potato salad and the pikachu plate which had fried rice, meat patty, spaghetti and a side salad. Hint* if you order the snorlax plate, it’s more aesthetically pleasing with slightly bigger portions. You can also pay to keep the pikachu plate and I believe either the eevee or snorlax plate. We also ordered the gengar smoothie which was a grape smoothie. Food wise, everything was not only adorable but was also quite tasty. With all drink orders, you get a raffle between different Pokémon plastic coasters. About 30 mins into our order, Chef pikachu came out to greet all the customers. The entire performance was in Japanese but nonetheless quite enjoyable. Pikachu made its rounds throughout the cafe and shook hands with the customers and put on a little show. Second Hint* if you order the character drink (i believe it was hot chocolate or coffee), I think you get the option to keep the cup which was a super cute pikachu cup that you can’t buy over the counter.

Loved visiting the Pokemon Cafe! Book well in advance as it is very busy and popular. We went to both the Osaka and Tokyo cafes, both fantastic. Tokyo's is bigger so you feel less cramped, however I would return to both. Staff are super nice and friendly. English is not amazing but you order using an iPad so you can click English on there. Depending what you choose to eat or drink you can opt to get a specially themed cup. Great experience for any tourist!

I was surprised how delicious the food was! Very cute and clean cafe with friendly staff. It's also conveniently next to the Pokemon Center. A must-go place for even casual Pokemon fans. Can get expensive but it's worth every penny!

The place for pokemon lovers to eat. The cafe has a variety of pokemon themed food. Don’t expect them to taste great but expect them to be cute and very fun to eat. The food is actually not that bad but the price a little steep which is understandable. Make sure to make reservations before going because the place is usually full unless you get lucky when there are free slots.

Worth to experience the Pokémon cafe to enjoy the greeting session(around 15mins) by Pikachu. Food are quite pricey and taste normal. But the restaurant are always fully book even it open for booking 31days before on 6pm Japan time. While booking don give up if you see all slot was taken, try refresh it every 20mins as system will release the seats which not successfully book

You have to make a reservation online to dine here. Another option is to walk in and see what slots are left for the day but they get taken very fast as well. Food is pricey and average, and each adult has to order at least one item. However, I take it as seat charge to enter the cafe for photo op and a mini performance by one of the pokemons. In my case, it was Gengar! Merchandise are also available and are unique to the cafe, different from what they have in the pokemon center. Pokemon center is right next door, so you can head over to buy more merch before or after the dining experience.

This was an awesome experience for my 5y kid. He loved it. It was very difficult to find a reservation, the only way is to do it online though their website; and the slots are opened a month in advance. If you don't have a reservation, they won't let you in. This is a pretty small restaurant. The food looks beautiful and well crafted.

ADVANCE RESERVATION The reservation opens 31 days before, at exactly 6pm Japan time. So we had to wake up at an ungodly hour (US time) to reserve our slots. It's super worth it though! FOOD AND EXPERIENCE I actually liked the food. Of course it's not gourmet but that's not what you should expect in a themed cafe anyway. I got the Snorlax shrimp rice pilaf with pork belly and my husband got the Pikachu curry with Charmander beef. We also both ordered latte with our chosen Pokemon designs (you can choose from ANY gen!). They brought out the Gengar mascot too. They also sell merch that aren't sold in other Pokemon Centers such as every single utensil they use in the cafe (you can buy the Snorlax plate for example) Overall, it was a fun experience! WALK-INS If you weren't able to reserve in advance, you can try your luck by just going there. They put a sign outside with a list of timeslots with available spots (no-shows or cancellations whatever).

Pretty cool place to visit. You need to reserve online. Everything is expensive but the atmosphere is cool. Pokemon cafe is on floor 9. They also have Lululemon on floor 4 in the back corner. And shake shack on the roadside.

Loved the experience and the ambiance around the place. Super nostalgic moments. Its a perfect place to go alone and have your moments or with your kids to enjoy along with them. Mind you that the food is a bit pricy but not something end of the world. Totally worth the experience you get and also the ordering of special items which you only get with the reservation

When making a reservation here make sure to Google the reddit advice to recheck after 20-30 minutes. Food was good, show was good, everyone was happy. Great time. The special coffee drinks were sold out when I went.

The booking system is a lottery unfortunately. We had two laptops and refreshed 5 minutes before opening of the slot, and the moment we went through the robot verification step it was already completely full. We got lucky, as one slot opened up 5 minutes after so it is worth waiting a bit, for people who were as frustrated with this process as us. That said, the experience was amazing. The food is good, not fantastic, but the presentation is adorable. The staff is friendly and play games with you from which you can get some goodies. Pikachu's show was adorable. We had a good time!

Mixed feelings about this place. Obviously you can't expect a Michelin star quality food, but it's just acceptable. Although the presentation of the dishes is pretty cool, they are not very tasteful. Prices are way higher than the average. Nice ambiance and decoration.

Lovely experience for Pokemon fans. Food and drinks aren’t great and there isn’t much variety (no savory dish is vegetarian for example), but the Pikachu pancake was fluffy and had a nice flavor. The experience overall to me was worth it. Chef Pikachu provides a cute dancing show and you get to take home your table paper mat and a coaster if you order any drink.

I was very excited to go but the food was very little in terms of portion and options. Everything has pork in it except dessert. The theme was fun and all as well as fun merchandise exclusive to the cafe. Better go book before hand as need to go in in batches and can only leave in a specific time unless its an emergency.

Premium Date spot. If she says no to that or does not like it, question your relationship. Really fun ambiente and well done for what it is. Food and drinks are very decent. Service is great. The entire floor and department store are an absolute gem. Worth visiting.

Very cute food and drink! I really enjoyed the fun and cute atmosphere of the cafe. Plus the pokemon center shop is next door and it's so cool!

Less busy than the Tokyo Cafe so it's easier to get reservations. Food was surprisingly pretty good, I thought it was going to be just average. Lots of exclusive plushies and Pokemon themed dishes, cutlery, etc.

Reserving a table at this place is a struggle. But we came for the show and experience. We knew the food wasn't gonna be very good but it was still decent. This place is clearly a tourist trap but the experience is nice. The cafe is decorated with pokemon stuff and there are regular shows and meet and greets. If you don't manage to get a reservation you're not missing out on a lot.

Very cute cafe but you will need a reservation as this place books out fast. There was a dancing Pikachu in a Chinese outfit for this event when we went. Food was ok and the hamburg set could have been better. But you mainly go here for the atmosphere. Drinks were pretty nice though.

Loved the Pokémon themed food and the service was also amazing. They had a pikachu performance in the middle of our meal and it was a highlight. However the food was a bit pricy and was not the best value for money.

Well worth the wait if you are a pokemon fan, we made reservation around 1 month before because everything fills up really fast. Its a little pricey but you are there for a one time experience.

Absolutely aweful. There is no availability to have a table and ALSO not allowed to buy food or experience the cafe. BE PREPARED TO BOOK A TABLE A MONTH IN ADVANCE. Childeren very upset. Trip to Japan avid Pokemon lovers; what a let down.

reservations open the beginning of each month..you should treat it like buying concert tickets lol 10/10 experience food is actually good! but pricey 💲 stay until the end for a Pikachu show ✨

Absolutely Adorable!!! The definition of Kawaii! The food was delicious and cute. There are a few souvenir cups to choose from and everything looks picturesque. Plenty of adults here as well don't think this is just for children! The reservations fill up FAST you should try to get a reservation a month in advance (that's when they go live based on Japan standard time), or you can consistently check periodically to see if reservations open up.

The staff was very friendly and the café super cute. Was able to order on the tablet and items came quite quickly. The drinks were great. The food presentation is fantastic, but the taste was really average. The place is really expensive so I expect better quality for the price point. 3 drinks, with 1 souvenir cup, 2 meals, and 1 dessert came to 9,200 yen.

A unique experience. But if you want to eat and you are a Muslim, you are out of luck, none of the food is halal. You can have coffee and sweets though.

👍👍 Go to the basement floor which has all kinds of food stalls and specialty stores. Go there an hour before closing and most of the packaged food items will be discounted like 30% or Y300 off. It’s great deal for budget travel. They also have very good yogurt drinks and other bakery items.
