Lovely place. Felt so welcome, rooms and common space we're really comfy, private onsen is easy to book and the owners make sure every guest gets his chance to book it. Very nice staff! It's a little walk into the city center, but just a couple of minutes to the train station. Highly recommend it :)

Miyuki-san gave us a warm welcome with great recos on nearby places and food to try. The place itself is beautiful and the rooms are made modern and convenient for foreign tourists. Will go here again.

The hotel is located close to the station, which makes travel very convenient. The hotel itself is beautiful, and provides a private onsen experience. There is also a lounging area with a built it kotatsu to keep you warm during the winter season. The rooms are qdequately spacious, and clean. The manager speaks some English, and it very foreigner friendly. I would definitely reccomend!

Miyuki san went out of her way to make sure we had an excellent stay. She gave lots of great recommendations and we had a great time in takayama! Excellent service. Welcoming, comfortable and clean hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Traditional, but modern renovated ryokan. Nice hot spring small bath outside... But new chinese owner interfere management, which makes DISASTER in customer service!!! So pity, that such nice location destroyed by unacceptable rude non-japanese culture. Even newly employed japanese lady as Manager (english speaking) not able to safe situation, as chinese cleaning staff and owner ruling by themself🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It is not a Ryokan, but it is close to a home stay as you can get. Walking distance to the train station is about 5 minutes. Very quiet, friendly and clean. Very modern and an Onsen that you can book for yourself. Overall, really worth a stay.

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights. We loved everything about Ichinomatsu - the room, the common area, the breakfasts, the bath, the guests but we especially loved the staff. Super attentive, friendly and helpful. This ryokan is located on the opposite side of the train station from "town". The walk is less than 10 minutes.

I would give 5 stars, but all the changing of shoes made me not. The hotel is fabulous. The service and rooms are amazing!! The only down fall is having to change your shoes 3 times just to walk to your room. It gets exhausting honestly.
