I absolutely adore the staff at the hostel. They made me feel so welcome and I even got to hang out with them a few times! For me that was very special. A very memorable stay! I met other amazing people along the way too. As with all the other K’s, the hostel was very clean, comfortable, affordable, and close to many attractions! Highly recommend :)

The bunk bed was comfortable, what was most important to us was that it was well ventilated. It was all very clean, teh bed was comfortable, the kitchen are well set up if one wanted to cook own meals and the staff very helpful in providing hints hoot cook and what. The staff was professional and friendly, nice to talk to. The amenities were perfectly clean, the kitchen well stocked with utensils to cook. Enjoyed our stay there very much!

Very good customer service. We stay in Japanese styled room with private bathroom, so feels more private. The kitchen and resting area is public but not too busy after 10am.

Near to the station and walking distance to major attractions. Very large room. The staffs are also super friendly. Overall very satisfied!!!

It was really a pleasant stay. The team is very nice and look forward that your stay would be the best. They are pleased to give you informations/tips for things to do, restaurants and more. The price is really correct and the rooms of 4 or 6 bed are well disposed, the beds got good space too (you don’t feel compressed like some I use to sleep in). You can spend good time into the shared space, and had some tea/coffee and good talks.

Great stay. Attentive staff provided very complete information about attractions in the region. Typically traditional house, excellent cleanliness and organization. Good music too. Easy access from the station and terminal.

Great place to stay! The staff is so warm and friendly, you immediately feel at home. The kitchen is one of the best kitchens i have seen on my travel. All the utensils you could wish for! The bed is comfortable. I really want to stress that the lounge area is so great, it really feels like a house instead of a hotel. Recommend it for everyone, either as a family or solo traveler! K's house is a perfect place to stay in Takayama. It's a 5 minute walk from the train and bus station and an easy walk into the old town. The dorm pods had everything I needed. The staff really made K's House so wonderful. They sent me to some of the best restaurants in town and were polite and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

Such a lovely place!! The private rooms in this hostel are bigger than a lot of normal hotel's room. The woman at the reception was exceptionally sweet and kind. The common area is so cozy and it's really a pleasure staying there. The kitchen is huge and there's everything you may need. Moreover the location is so convenient, very close to the station. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Great location, just by the train station. Staff very accommodating. They have prepared an excellent Google map of places to eat, with notation. Super clean. Great kitchen and dining area.

I loved my stay here, I was solo travelling throughout Japan met a lot of fellow travellers and the staff gave me great tips on things to do in the area!

Good Location, close to bus and train station. Nice staffs, helpful and providing good information to us. Equipped with kitchen and cooking ware that you can cook yourself if you like. A warm communication room/area you can chat and relax. Shower water is hot enough. Shower/toilet is small.

Cozy hostel with spacious bunks, large common area with a fully decked out kitchen if you'd like to cook. It's close to the old town district and a stones throw away from the station.

Brilliant position in Takayama, close to the station, easy walk to sightseeing. Had the 5th floor family room with private bathroom, even though by myself it was still a reasonable price, plus a fantastic view of the snow covered mountains - even though it was Spring and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The staff were so helpful - holding my bags after I check out, till later in the day when I was catching the train, they even helped me carry my heavy case down the stairs.

Unique experience of staying in a Buddhist Temple and learning a bit about rituals and teachings. The accommodation was good and comfortable, although a bit cold (we were given heaters and electric blankets). Anyway we need to understand we are in a temple and not in a purpose built hotel. We had the chance to join morning prayer which we found very interesting. Overall we are glad we had the opportunity to stay at Zenkoji!

the room is clean and there's sufficient space for the luggage. The hostel is very easy to find. very close to the Train station and Nohi Bus terminal. the tourist spots are also within walking distance and there are lots of good restos nearby. The staff is also very accommodating. the common room is nice and warm. we also love the kitchen where everything you need for cooking is complete.

This is our second time staying here, and we love it so much and will definitely be coming back again. Such a cozy place with great facilities and atmosphere. The fully stocked kitchen and common room are lovely, and the beds are warm and comfy. Staff are friendly, and our favourite thing was the map of restaurant and activity recommendations they gave us! Both branches in Takayama are very similar, and we can't wait to try their other locations too.

Service was friendly and very helpful. Facilities were clean. The dormitory is a capsule style so a balance between privacy and air circulation. Great location just a walk from the station. Only two washing machines so a bit of a line up for clothes. Otherwise it's very new and updated. Would stay again!

For the price of its room, I didn't expect it to be this good. This place is 3 minutes walking from Takayama Station, and there is a lot of restaurants around the area. The hospitality is GREAT! The room itself was huge and it has 4 capsule like kinda of beds inside , so if you are traveling in 4, I highly recommend this place. Also like to mention that this place has an elevator, shoe dryer (if you are traveling in the winter), and towels which are available for a fee. The only criticism that I have is that the wall seems pretty thin since I can hear people from the other rooms laughing and screaming. Maybe they were just loud. However, other than that this place was a very good experience for me!

Location is good... near the station and easy to get around. Room not big, but the bed is very comfortable. Warm bed during our winter stay there. The staff are very friendly and informative. They have hot tea & coffee free for guest during their stay. Utensils also available, don't forget to wash and put it back after you used it. I definitely recommend this place if you wanna go to Takayama. Budget friendly hostel in good location.
