Best coffee in Japan! And the most lovely owners - retirees who have completed barista training and make the best cafe latte I drank during my two week trip. They also have beautiful local pottery there for sale and the cups they serve the coffee in are lovely.

The couple that owns this place is so friendly and full of smiles! The latte I has was wonderful and the setting and atmosphere near the temple is lighthearted and relaxing. Definitely a nice place to go for anyone looking for a relaxing drink in a beautiful setting.

The old couple that runs the cafe is really sweet. The first time they gave us a "present"; a tiny ceramic turtle. Their coffee and frappe was so good we came back and they presented us with Japanese tea after we sat down. You really feel as if they're hosting you in their home!

A very nice café in such a beautiful location. The owners were super friendly and the coffee and tea were very nice. Also the mini sweets! Thanks to the kids for making the nice origami. ありがとうございました!

Japanese Grandpa and Grandma serving excellent coffee, and if you order a latte, you may be lucky with a cute latte art. There is also a small gallery/shop with craft accessories.

Delightful coffee shop run by a gorgeous couple. Best coffee in Takayama: the passion is there! The coffee was also a great price compared to elsewhere.

Most welcoming and warm coffee shop I've been to in Japan. Coffee tastes great, and their hospitality is amazing. Owned by an old couple. Their collection of pottery is also amazing

Nice coffee shop with friendly staff near the temple. I took a very long break here sitting outside. Love their pudding and the cute latte art. It was very cozy and relaxing.

We had a beautiful experience from the time we arrived. The owners were very welcoming and kind. The man sung as he made our coffee and his wife delivered them joyfully. Highly recommend coming here, the coffee was delicious and the cafe was beautiful with nice art and jewellery.

quaint and cozy little coffee shop run by an elderly retired couple who just loves their coffee, their art and meeting people. excellent pudding (the highlight was elevating the subtle caramel flavour with a shot of espresso) and very good cappuccino too! the elderly lady spoke English well and made me feel like welcome with her kind words and conversation. they open only 3 days a week but it's a great place to chill and hang out. highly recommended if you want good coffee with a nice local vibe.

So far the nicest cafe experience we had in Japan. We were welcomed by a very lovely couple - which were the owners. They explained to us the food and coffee we ordered. The lady also talked about the pottery for sale and delighted to find out that they are all made in Takayama including some made by her son. They have a very relaxing atmosphere close to the shrine. Our espressos and desserts were a good break from exploring the beautiful area.
