This place deserves 10 stars! The owner is an ultra cool woman who has made this tiny place into such a cool and unique bar. Many drink options and great prices. She gave us a cool origami samurai helmet as a gift. Place has a great vibe and you can easily sit there for hours.

Loved the bar. One of the best places to relax and drink after touring the beautiful sights of Takayama. We had a great time amongst ourselves and also met some really cool People who were travelling just like us. Overall, it’s a small town and being here for a couple of days made us feel like locals and homely. Needless to say, the bartenders and the master were amazing!

In 2002, I walked into this joint and accidentally pronounced my order of "workingman sake" with a perfect Japanese accent..., or so said the proprietor Hisayo and her only other customer Hiro. Before long, Hiro ran home to fetch his guitar, and we traded songs all afternoon and night. Thus began three straight days of revelrous drinking followed by earth-shattering hangovers. Takayama is a beautiful, amazing town, and I will never forget my friends Hiro and Hi-chan. Domo arigatogozaimasu, tomodachi.
