Very bad service, unpleasant, stuck up, treated customer like low class citizens. Not a good bartender, does not have knowledge to make a simple drink such as black Russian

Maybe my first mistake was ordering a Jin and tonic. Maybe Google translate didn't serve either of us well. But I felt like being the only person in the bar, I was talked down to the whole night. As someone familiar with business, you don't want to disrespect your only customer, and I felt somewhat disrespected at every turn. Because I don't drink whiskey often I didn't know what to drink or where to start. I would have maybe been better off getting a 200 yen drink from the combini, than I would have being somewhat talked down to from 12am till 1am. But again what do I know? Overall the host seemed slightly snobby. But again maybe I am just somewhat low class. Out of all the kind, receptive, and generous people in Takayama, this guy was the most cold, unrelenting, and unforgiving people I could have met, it seemed. 3 stars is a generous review on my part, in my low class opinion.

Stumbled across this place on our first night in Takayama. What a great experience. The bartender, Kama G, is very attentive and we communicated through Google translate. He makes a great margarita!

Spent a wonderful 90 minutes in the great care if resident barman! Relaxing space to enjoy a cigar and Japanese whisky or any other you care to mention!

The best bar on our Japan travels. Great drinks and excellent service from Kama G. A must visit to this little gem in Takayama.

Great whiskey! Tried so many good Japanese whiskey! Great host and bartender, happy we found this tonight! One of the greatest bars in Japan or I say in the world! Truly a gentleman!

Had the best time in this hidden hole-in-the-wall. Spent the entire time communicating through Google translate with the super friendly and enthusiastic owner. Shared whiskey, cigars and brandy. Highly reccomend if you stumble across this amazing place!
