    Terrible ひどい! Discriminate against non-Japanese customers. Didn't make a reservation and walked in to request for a table. My husband and I can speak and understand a little Japanese. We were told to wait while they attended to a pair of customers who came after us as they had a reservation. While we were waiting, another group of 3 Japanese customers also walked in to ask for a table. Then the lady at the counter pretended to check her monitor and told us that they were full. As we were leaving, I heard this lady telling the group of 3 customers that came after us and did not have a reservation that she can seat them!! We felt discriminated against and it's impolite to treat your customers this way. Especially for a Michelin Guide restaurant. 思いやりがありません! Do not recommend!

    We ended up here after most of other restaurants were closed. The Michelin sticker led us to believe we cannot make a mistake. Wrong. Hida wagyu came to the table still FROZEN. If you keep your meat frozen, at least defrost it before serving. Rice was not only not freshly made, but it was COLD and HARD. Food was definitely overpriced for what it was. We would be satisfied even if this was a cheap izakaya. The food wasn't disgusting but it was highly disappointing and left us with a heavy stomach.

    The restaurant has a very authentic inviting foyer and we were ushered into a beautiful private room that we had pre-reserved for our family of four. The dishes were delicious, fresh and varied. We chose every dish separately off of their recommended menu rather than choosing from a set menu. This is an upscale izakaya-ya and we were really pleased to have come as it was a terrific dining experience.

    It was amazing! Food was delicious,fresh and the stuff more than welcoming. We tried the set menu that includes sashimi and more appetizers (tempura, rice,miso soup etc), hinda beef plus desert. More than enough for the given price and top quality. I totally recommend it !

    Excellent restaurant recommend to us by the hotel we stay. The 5 of us got a beautiful private room, the menu had wide variety of options, which was necessary because each of us prefer different types of food. The waiter was very nice speaking good English and the total cost for all of us was 21k. Excellent deal.

    Two of us ordered food to share - the HIDA beef stone grilled set that comes with Sashimi, Steak with Hoba miso, Karage, and local Sake. Food quality is good, sashimi is fresh and the Chef who served us also guided us on how to cook the meat. Very friendly and helpful Chef who even gave us a Takayama guide and share with us where we can visit the following day. Top service and love the privacy of the space we have by ourselves at this joint.

    This place is amazing. The set up is gorgeous, the staff very friendly and the food super good. We had the Hida beef with soba miso and the steak yourself. Incredibly good!

    Disappointing experience, wrong choice if you believe the Michelin recommendation and the tabelog. They serve prix fixe or a la carte dishes. There is a ¥500/pax table charge if you order from the a la carte menu. Only when I sat down did I realise they have different menus for English and Japanese, the English menu has very limited food items, with only 2 expensive Hida beef set meals available. I know Hida beef is the signature here, but it shouldn't be like this. The portions of the set meal were very small for the price paid, especially the tempura is pathetic, only 4 tiny pieces. Instead of the usual pot of rice, we were served a small bowl of rice. Slow service, no one showed up 1 minute after ringing the service bell. The taste is okay though.
