Well located hotel, but incredibly uncomfortable beds. Felt like we were sleeping on a concrete slab, with sandbags for pillows. Would not recommend this hotel if you struggle sleeping on hard surfaces. Rooms were the size you expect in a Japanese hotel and bathroom was fine. Also appears to have very large tour groups transiting through the hotel.

The location of this hotel is awesome. Its just in front of the Nohi Bus Station (bus that will take you to Kanazawa, Shirakawa-Go and Toyama). JR Takayama Station is very proximate too. The check-in was a breeze as well as the check-out. The hotel staff can speak english. They have a family mart on the ground floor. Many restaurants around the area and within 10 minutes walk you can reach the Miyagawa River to enjoy the view and the morning market. For Yakiniku restaurant, you must try the HANARE はなれ. The salad and hida beef is so delish, it melts in your mouth 😊

The breakfast buffet definitely isn't as advertised at the front desk, but for the price (of the hotel and the buffet-- which was 880yen), no major complaints. The room was perfectly fine-- a bit no-frills, but it was clean and the location great. The price was great, too.

Reasonable price. Near to bus and train station. Location is a walk distance to Old Town Takayama. Basic amenities like a usual business hotel. Got family mart at the ground floor. Provide parking for those travelled by car for 500yen per night. Room interior is quite old look and bed is hard.

its a cheap hotel, and you get what you pay for. theres no soundproofing so there are times when i struggle to sleep. the wallpaper is peeling off the wall too and it has a dirty appearance. however the staff are really great and its conveniently located.

Two stars feels very generous for this hotel. The room was incredibly small, even by Japanese standards. The walls were super dirty and dinged up everywhere. I love a firm mattress but these were obscenely uncomfortable. The worst part was the bathroom. The sink and shower shared a water line with little to no water pressure at all. It was very difficult to get clean at all. The staff was very kind and helpful - pretty much the only redeeming quality.

Be sure to know this is a smoking hotel, rooms are well equipped, but smelly. (To be expected ofc) Price was cheap and location was perfect (right across from the station). Breakfast was what you would expect for the price (Okay)

Older than I thought it was going to be. Everything was old and cleanliness can be improved. The walls have stains, and you can tell the old age of everything. The key holder is different than usual. The key you are given, the square stick with room number on it, you are supposed to stick it in the hole by the light switch to keep to power on. If it was a key card, I would think of sticking in for power, but it's a square keychain and weird hole. I wasn't told when checking in, so I can't figure out how to turn on the lights. The room is very dark without any natural sunlight. The hard bed from other reviews was not really a problem for me. Sure, it wasn't pleasant, but it didn't hurt your body when you woke up. Even though everything is very old and kinda dirty, the location of this place is perfect. You are right next to the train and bus station. You can walk to the morning market and beautiful historic town. There is plenty to eat around the hotel, and the convenience store is right under the hotel. The lobby is on the second floor, which is a little weird, but you can go up from the elevator from the first floor, so it's not a problem with luggage. You have to drop your room key with the front desk every time you go out and pick it up when you come back, which is a little inconvenient. But the worker is very nice, greet you nicely every time you come and go. Overall, it's not bad, nice location, affordable price, nice service just needs renovation.

The hotel location is very strategic, close to the station, nohi bus terminal, family mart, comfortable environment, highly recommended.

Located just in front of the railway/bus station, it offers clean and spacious rooms with a very good quality-price rate. I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to explore the city of Takayama.

The room and hardware is great, so as the location. They rated 5 star. However, the staff are very irresponsible and no empathy. And they never ever reply u even you lost something valuable. Very bad. I only hear No No No from them. No solution at all .

Great place to stay for a great price just opposite Takayama station and a short walk to the main sites. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is not well ventilated (evidenced by a small amount of mould on the wall), but overall not an issue for a short stay. Beds are comfy enough, staff are friendly and reception is open 24/7. Breakfast as an add on is expensive so we chose not to have it as there's a family mart directly below the hotel. Overall, no complaints. If you're looking for a budget stay in Takayama this would be a good choice.

Hotel with a perfect location as it is very close from the main JR train station and also the bus station. Not very far from the central area (5 minutes by walk) where you can visit the morning markets or walk by the river. The rooms are a bit small and they don't have a place to leave the bags and luggage. The workers are very nice though

This might be one of the most conveniently located hotels in Takayama. Right next to the bus and train stations and a short walk away from the top sightseeing spots. If you are looking for day trips with Takayama as a base, I highly recommend taking the approx. 2-hr bus to Kamikochi (in the Japanese alps). There is a FamilyMart right next to the hotel. Rooms are fine. If you value location in a hotel, you can't go wrong with this one.

Very convenient location right next to the station and cheap. The room was small and had a bit of a "well-used" feel but completely fine, except the bathroom which smelled very faintly of urine when we came in (really faintly so no big deal).

Across the road makes it the best location, coming by JR or bus. However the rooms are real small for keeping 2 backpack also. They don't provide milk creamer or moisturizer, which is quite bad by any standards. The breakfast was also not great, esp western breakfast was disappointing. We asked for salt and pepper, guess what they said they dont have it !!! If you are on very tight budget, go for it, else look for better one around there only....

The mattress and pillow are hard but I guess it's standard in Japan. Room's clean, sleepwear provided and you can keep your luggage after check-out . Location top notch right across JR station.

We didn't pay much and the location is good. But The walls are dirty, and in general the room is very small and isn't very clean. Not a great feeling to stay here. If you're looking for a budget stay it's fine.

The room (double) is very small and so it is hard to open luggage. The bathroom is very old, there is mould on the walls of the bath and on the shower curtain, the extraction fan does not work so it becomes very humid.

Had a really great stay. Convenient location, clean room, drinkable water from the sink, bathtub, heated toilet seat, laundry was cheap. Only downside is the room was too small but it's okay for the price we paid.

Hotel situation just nezt to the train station, great location. Rooms are very small but enough for a short stay, tidy and clean.

Conveniently located near the train station (200m) and the old town, 6 minute walk. A stay comes with a complementary use of a smart phone. Good data coverage, local calks also included. Rooms are small but very typical of Japan. Friendly reception staff too. Definitely recommend this hotel. Another added bonus, well stocked Family Mart downstairs.

Plus - good location. Near train and bus stations and restaurants. Hotel buffet breakfast has a reasonable spread for the price paid. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Minus - bathrooms have a stench. Be careful when boiling water, especially if you have young children. Overall, if location is important then go for it. Rooms are small but this is typical in Japan.

Good location just opposite the train and bus station. The hotel rooms are Japanese style as expected so don't expect a ballroom, furthermore the rooms are a bit on the older side. But you get all of that for a reasonable price! Breakfast was not included in our package, so we can't judge it. For one night in Takayama a recommended option!

I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The layout was a bit awkward because the lobby was on the second floor. There is parking on the side of the hotel but spaces are limited. Please reserve in advance and cost money to reserve. The room was very cozy. We had a nice view of the city. To enter the bathroom you have to literally step into it, it is raised slightly off the floor.
