Friendly and clean, with a few shortcomings. The good points are that the hostel is well located, close to the train station and convenience stores, and is a great base for exploring the wider region. The staff were also quite friendly and polite, and the kitchen facilities were good. The downsides are that if you are at all sensitive to light or noise, you may have trouble getting a good night's rest in the dorms. Whilst some noise is to be expected in a dorm, the solid construction of the building and lack of any sound deadening materials means that the smallest of noises can be heard very easily. The noise of hairdryers from the nearby bathrooms is also persistent, and the curtains for the separated dorm rooms don't go to the ceiling meaning that light comes into the room. Otherwise, we had a good stay, and would consider staying again if we were to come back to Takayama.

+ Clean and nice stay in the hostel, there is a room to put our luggage before we check in and after we check out. so close to the station. - I give 4 because I can't find any of the staff when I need their help to carry my luggage.. and when my friend ask one of the staff about the plug socket in her room because she can't find any, the staff answer her rudely. There is no bidet in their toilet.

Located very close JR takayama station, this hostel has almost all the facilities one would expect. Simple free breakfast is available from 7 am till it finishes. I stayed in a mixed dormitory room which is just enough for sleeping. Locker facilities are available to keep your bags if you arrive early before check-in time (which is 2 pm usually). They have bicycle rentals available but it runs out pretty quickly. The common area has a big kitchen and a bar with some space to sit and relax as well. Laundry and dryers are available on men's and women's restroom which cost about 600 yen combined.

Cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in! Comfy no-frills accommodation at a very reasonable price. Reception was very helpful and we were allowed to leave our bags after check out at no extra charge.

Feels like home. The common/kitchen area is nice because you can meet other tourist, utensils are available if you want to eat, and there's also movie night. The staff is accommodating, they are nice, they know to speak English. The room is small but clean and comfortable but that's okay because the price we pay is not that much. Stayed Sept 11-13, 2019

It's a hostel in every sense of the word with lots of people going in and out (especially during the festival) and a huge common room if you're in the mood to meet new people. There is a whole locked hallway with rooms to book, other than that you have to sleep in a bunk bed with strangers in the room. But even if you book your own room, you still have to go to the common area for toilet and sink and take the elevator up to take a shower. The rooms are also very empty, with nothing more than the simple bed, a chair, a moveable heater and a small room to hang your clothes in. It's very modern and clean and when it comes to hostels, this certainly is higher class than most.

Right outside the train station, and staff were generally friendly. There are stairs only up to the reception though and no lift to enter (staff are happy to help with luggage though). Overall cheap and convenient stay, but there were a group of westerners in my room who were really loud and rowdy after dinner, despite signs saying don't talk at all in the dorm room. Thankfully, they stopped before it got too late. Showers were difficult to figure out - I either got really hot water or really cold with no in between.

Just opposite to the train station. The room is quiet. Shower room and restroom are very clean+Convenient facilities in restroom. The bed are so comfy. There are some space beside bed to put my bag. I'm really satisfied of staying here.

This hotel had a make over and it is pretty awesome. The Room is clean and modern. The bath is big and has all u need. U can even use the washing machines and don’t need to buy any product. There is already some. At the reception you can wait for your clothes to finish washing while drinking free sake. Maybe the only negative point is that everything smells kind of new 😅

Super nice place to hang out, the room as well as the bath were really big and clean! Cheap but you get everything you need!
