😠 Overall a very odd hotel. Run by JR (Railway company). Feels more like a hotel from North Korea as there is a 1980s fakeness to it. A Waldorf or Four Seasons this is not. No way even close enough. The service is ok but they have single beds which as a married couple. I asked them why no double be... People often mention hotel, rooms,

Overall a very odd hotel. Run by JR (Railway company). Feels more like a hotel from North Korea as there is a 1980s fakeness to it. A Waldorf or Four Seasons this is not. No way even close enough. The service is ok but they have single beds which as a married couple. I asked them why no double beds? I was told: "Hotel too old" ? What that has to do with visitors living like teenagers I don't know. Room is small. Windows don't open. Aircon lowest is 20 degrees and I am sure it turns off at night. Currently lying stifled in a room with no fresh air. A joke. When sun came up this morning could barely breath as room was so muggy. Bed - Rock solid. Pillows small. Wifi. Awful and I mean worse than dialup. When the hotel is busy it is unusable. I had to use 4g several times. The onsen. Look Japan cannot scream out for foreign investment money but yet stick to traditional ways. You want visitors then a middle ground has to be made. Tattoos and all. Breakfast - Ok selection but quality is ok. Same goes for lunch. Went to cafe had a coffee and cake. Coffee was percolated rubbish and chestnut cake was not that nice. Overall a very strange hotel that feels more like something from North Korea than rural Japan. Single rooms, aircon that could roast a chicken and wifi that is useless. Best to stay elsewhere. I am sure the 5 star reviews are purely written by staff. They exist to counter any criticism They never provide evidence of stay (pictures) Always response to negative reviews.

Fantastic resort hotel in Takayama overlooking the valley. Great food, great rooms and a wonderful onsen.

Very nice hotel. The views are great here. Onsen is good size and beautiful. Dinner was delicious -especially the dessert. Definitely one of the very best tasting dessert selections I've encountered in Japan. Their free transportation to and from the train station was a nice bonus too.

I forgot to write something. I absolutely love this place. It was the first time I have seen 'real' snow. It was soft and powdery. Fantastic. The rooms are spacious and warm. My husband went to the onsen and can't stop talking about it, even now! Apparently it is amazing.

This was our third stay here. Love the breakfast (full western/japanese buffet) and there is an hourly shuttle bus to and from the hotel to the city (about 5 mins away). The number 1 reason to stay here however is the fabulous onsen over 2 floors which overlook the town. Nothing beats a good soaking at the end of the day.

This was a beautiful western-style hotel with great views of the countryside. The rooms were very spacious and had nice bathrooms. Their service was excellent and all of the hotel staff were very polite. The hotel also has a nice shop inside and karaoke rooms that you can reserve.

Nice, well appointed hotel. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive, though not as lavish as some of the other hotels. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The highlight is the Onsen. Hot spring baths with gorgeous views of the city. The view from the room of the mountains is gorgeous.

🫤 Don't bother with this place, it is overrated. Parking outside and toilets inside. Seems very clean and the food was actually really good, but the service was slow and at exactly 3pm we were yelled at (and so we're other people), to get out as they were closing. We arrived at 2:15, took 10 minutes...
