I stayed in a 2-person room alone, but got a good deal. The walls are a little thin as you would expect, and the mattress isn't great, but the other aspects are nice. Beautiful location, walking distance to restaurants and sites, free parking, clean, big kitchen, helpful staff. Ideal for budget travelers. It's far from the station, so extra good for people with vehicles.

Friendly hostel accommodation, we had a private room with shared toilet & shower facilities. It's 100yen to hire a towel. Well equipped communal kitchen. Very clean bathroom areas. Well run. Coin washer & dryer available. Also bike hire. A 15- 20 minutes walk down into main town area & a 10 minutes up hill walk to the Hida folk village. There is a bus from the train station last one leaves the bus station at 16.10 hours costs 200ÂĄ

Very nice and relaxing guest house. The staff is very friendly and give you good tips to explore the area. For ÂĄ300 you can rent a bike for 6h and reach the old town in less than 10min. I'd definitely repeat.

Comfortable stay and conveniently located if you want somewhere somewhat affordable. They had a kitchen that you could cook and prepare meal in. Also the staff were really nice. Although the walls were thin so you could hear what’s going on outside. Twin private room costs ¥4,400 which wasn’t bad. Also have laundry room in case you need to wash your clothes

Really nice and comfortable place. Friendly staff, rooms, common room and bathroom are clean. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it. They have a free shuttle bus to the station (3 times in the morning). The view from the rooms is stunning. We had the city view.

Highly recommend! We spent two nights here and it’s really a wonderful experience. The rooms are very clean and so do the bathroom and toilets. I rarely see this high level of cleanliness in hostels. There’re shared rooms and private rooms. The baths and kitchen are shared. Coin laundry is available but there’re only one washing machine and one dryer so sometimes you will need to wait. A little bit far from Takayama station, it’ll take about 20 minutes to walk from the station. However they provides shuttle service on the morning which is very convenient.

Tenant is very welcoming, showers are common with individual stalls for intimacy, toilets are also shared, and a shared kitchen space is available. Each room has its own keys. All in all, it's a place with a nice country side view, a little removed from the center of the city like Takayama, and the rooms are comfortable. That being said there is no practical place or room to spend time with friends without rising bothering other guests except the kitchen.

Cheap and clean hostel with communal bathrooms. Hot water is only available at certain times, and today they turned it off before the posted time mid-shower. The beds are firm and fairly comfortable. But, it is very far from town if you don't have a car.

Friendly hosts, clean kitchen. Well stocked. Big tv, a wood fire which was super cosy for the rainy days while there. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Bikes for hire.

We did not get to stay, however they were extremely accommodating to our circumstances. There was heavy rain causing the trains to be cancelled all day and Sakura Guest House was so kind to refund us. They were very pleasant to communicate with.

Nice clean place with an open kitchen you can use and fridges to store your food. Showers are in the bottom floor toilets in rooms floor. Very close ro Hoda folk village and 2 stops from bus terminal. They offer a free ride 7,8,9am to the train station
