I've
been
solo
traveling
around
Japan
for
2,5
weeks
on
a
15,000
JPY/day
budget
now,
and
Minshuku
Takizawa
is
absolutely
the
best
experience
in
terms
of
value,
quality,
and
service.
The
moment
I
arrived
I
was
greeted
by
name
(!
how
did
he
know?)
and
given
a
detailed
tour
of
the
grounds.
I
love
how
it's
barefoot
once
you're
inside,
really
feels
like
home.
3
indoor,
2
outdoor
onsens,
all
to
be
privately
experienced
upon
placing
a
wooden
sign
appropriately
at
the
door.
I
did
not
pre-book
dinner
so
decided
that
evening
I
would
like
to
dine
at
Takizawa,
especially
because
the
area
is
a
bit
remote
and
I
do
not
have
a
car.
5,000
JPY
for
dinner
the
price
felt
steep
for
a
budget
solo
traveler,
but
it
turned
out
to
be
a
5-course
meal
that
satisfied
my
Hida
wagyu
beef
craving
for
at
least
a
week.
Extremely
generous
portions
(almost
too
generous,
I
couldn't
finish
everything).
I
also
found
the
1,000
JPY
breakfast
(comes
w
coffee!!!!)
to
be
a
tremendous
value
given
the
quality
and
portion.
The
owner
was
the
kindest,
friendliest
man
who
spoke
great
English
and
gave
helpful
tips
for
hikes
and
navigation.
Unfortunately
Minshuku
Takizawa
books
out
fast,
so
I
had
to
move
to
another
hotel
in
Okuhida
area
for
the
next
2
nights.
The
owner
so
kindly
transported
my
luggage
over
to
my
next
hotel
since
it
was
along
the
way
for
groceries
and
I
wanted
to
spend
the
morning
at
Kamikochi.
I
already
miss
staying
at
Takizawa!
