The sets are so big and they are such great value. We loved the service and they have english menus and an English iPad to order from. We tried the premium hida beef yakinku and a standard hida beef sukiyaki. The beef was much better than the so called famous Hida beef place we went to at lunch. The Udon set was huge and had lots of nice vegetables, everything was a hit. We both had the matching sales and I enjoyed all of them especially the 18% abv in the middle. Would definitely come back.

Takayama is popular for the Hida Beef and that beef has won the Beef Olympics every 5 years (they have a name which I forgot) two in a row. Therefore any restaurant serving grade A beef should be the same. In this place it is guaranteed that you'll have the best beef of your life. I just cannot keep my eyes open everytime I put a new slice of beef in my mouth.

premium hida beef sets are the most worth value in this restaurant, beef quality very good and quite a lot, but if you order other set I think not very worth of money, sukiyaki also so so. I choose this restaurant because the only good rating restaurant that open on 1st January. You won't regret it if you choose the right menu. You can not share here, every person must order at least one menu.

The first time I ate Hida wagyu and I'm glad it was here! The taste of these little slices of heaven was divine. I wonder, if I can ever enjoy regular beef again. We had the Hida beef set with 210 g of extremely tender beef. It's already cut into little blocks and you get your own small grill to broil the meat and vegetables. Pour a little sake of the meat before you put it on the grill as this will give the beef a subtle sweetness. Delicious. You also get a bowl of rice which you can have refilled as often as you like. The staff speaks english and is very friendly. As can be expected, prime Hida wagyu is a bit more pricey than regular beef, but we paid around 50 €, which is a fair price.

We stayed in the hotel across the street, so it was very close to our place. Sukiyaki was amazing, yakiniku was also amazing. Staffs were all very busy but they’re friendly. Price was alright, quite pricey but definitely worth the price. It was ¥11k ish for us which consists of 4 people. Restaurant smells like bbq, so expect yourself to smell after your meal. But it was definitely worth it. Toilet is upstairs.

This undoubtedly a place to go if you're in Takayama, the staff at the restaurant is amazing, the food is tasty and you can see its extra quality at first glance as soon as you see the food in the table. The ambient is super nice, all in all, in a score of 1 to 10, I'll give them 11!

Incredible meal! The Hida beef was the best beef I have ever had. The quality of all of the food was spectacular. The staff were very kind and helpful. There were English menus and guides available. The sake tasting was also well worth it. All local and very good. It was a bit expensive, but definitely worth it for the quality. Highly recommend for a nice dinner if you're visiting!

Hide beef which you can choose between sukiyaki or grilled. Quality of beef is superb. The apple juice is also amazing. It’s not your typical apple juice.

Nice setting and atmosphere. Perfect for a relax dining experience. Food is well presented and the quality of the ingredients speaks for itself. Love the special regional HIDA Beef, taste absolutely marvellous. Highly recommended for visitors to give this place a try.

We went on a Tuesday evening, and getting a table easy enough. We had a feast - fresh produce, well marbled hida beef, fragrant rice, yummy sakes… the sets were well portioned, but we enjoyed the meat so much, we added more, ala carte. For the quality of meat, it was well worth the price. a lovely place to spend a snowy evening in Takayama .

A must eat in Takayama — really fun yakiniku concept where you grill the meat on your own charcoal grill. Price is super affordable given you’re getting A5 wagyu from Higa. Really regret not coming back for a second meal — Hopefully next time!

The ambiance of the old building was fantastic! The service is also impeccable. They have affordable sukiyaki dinner sets starting from ¥2500 for 70g of beef (or ¥3500 for a double meet portion) and Teppanyaki style BBQ sets from ¥3000. The sukiyaki is good, but if it’s your first time trying Hida Beef definitely go for the Teppanyaki style steak! The sake pairing set is also definitely worth it. Finish your dinner with a yuzu liquor for dessert and it’ll be an experience to remember. Definitely recommend for tourists or first timers in Takayama.

This was my first restaurant experience in Takayama town having premium hidagyu飛騨牛. Speechless after eating probably the best beef in my life. Soba noodle is also pretty awesome. Will definitely come back if I come to Takayama again!
