Hida beef curry rice is very very delicious. Shop is clean and tidy with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Best place to take a rest in Takayama.

Friendly service. Excellent food. Plenty of options. I visited this place as a reliable breakfast option on more than one occasion.

i ordered curry and fried rice. it was delicious, however the portion is too small for lunch. come here for breakfast might be ok. the owner was so kind and gave us free chocolate. so thoughtful :)

Fantastic little eatery! I had the egg toast and apple juice and they served me apple slices and chocolate too! Very cosy, with comfortable seating. The staff are lovely, very friendly. Thank you for a perfect quick lunch!

My husband and I chanced upon Nanten and loved the quaint deco, the cosiness of the place and the delicious food. The staff were very warm and friendly. The lady boss is a very sweet lady, she made the effort to chat with us (despite us knowing very few Japanese words) and after she found out we were on our honeymoon, she gave us a small treat and wished us happiness. It made our trip to Takayama a very unique and heartwarming one.

Had breakfast here both days we were in Takayama. The owner is incredibly sweet and the food is amazing! Get the cinnamon toast you won’t regret it. Also had the boiled egg sandwich, Hida beef sandwich and the fried udon. Husband had the Hida beef curry and it was also good. Definitely recommend this place! Not sure on hours but we went at 10 and they’d been open for a little bit it looked like. Favorite place I’ve eaten in Japan yet :).

Delicious Hida Beef udon - fragrant broth and soft chewy udon. Affordable prices too. Shopkeepers were friendly and nice. Thumbs up!

Lovely little place. One of my friends I travelled with requested vegetarian options, and the staff went out of their way to make something special for her. We also had a cute conversation with the old lady in the shop who served us extra tea, snacks and fruit!

A lovely place for breakfast - near the hotel we are staying in (Oyado no Koto). Be patient because it’s a small neighbourhood cafe, and I hope you are nit rushing for anything as this is a good place for relaxation :) Ordering is easy, menu comes with English. The cooking lady also came out to greet us and she is so cute and nice. Such warm comments from her and it adds the flavour of being a tourist here. Of course they speak Japanese only, but the kindness counts! Highly recommend to have any meal here, to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
