I visited when I came to Hida Furukawa. There are festivals like the Takayama Festival where large food stalls are set up. I learned for the first time that there is also one in Hida Furukawa. Some of them are on display at the Festival Hall.

It was fascinating to learn about Hida Furukawa Festival. This museum is well kept, and they have a nice theater to watch a short documentary about the matsuri. ☺️ Set tickets with a discount can be bought, which includes entrance to the nearby crafts museum. 🔨

Even though I didn't ask for it and I know you're busy, I'm glad that you explained things to me. However, I think there are some people who would like to take their time and watch it on their own...

I encourage everyone who comes to watch the festival movie if you can't live the festival by yourself. This town is a hidden gem of Japan, and should be treated as such.

You can see the floats, see a documentary about the festival, and also the staff might give you a little tour/information about the festival if it isn't crowded when you go! Really interesting and educational

Sorry no photos. As you may already know and followed, I have visited all the float in Takayama. And this is another float exhibition hall in Hida-Furakawa. In there there are more interactive things that you can explore. They have the big screen that almost like cinema. Introducing the festival that last for 18mins. They have some puppets and drums and etc that you can try them out. With all the festival floats, this is better since you can so-called be involved. But all the three, give me a good understanding about the how such festivals are.

A fascinating museum which explains the local Hida Furukawa Festival. Has displays of all the instruments, equipment and floats used in the festival and has a 20 minute video which shows and explains the festival. The video is Japanese but has very well translated English subtitles. A must see if you're in the area and admission is only ¥500. The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming.

Very methodical historic displays. A lot of attention, not only to what their displaying it, but how their displaying it. Very historic, very helpfully informative and very entertaining. They also have a theater and a short film that I loved.

I was able to understand the Furukawa Festival better by watching the guide's explanation and the introductory video. The actual floats are on display, so you can see the decorations made by Hida artisans. You can also step inside the replica floats. I hope that this wonderful traditional festival will continue to be passed down. I want to go see the Furukawa Festival.

A place to understand Hida-Furukawa festival. A theatre to show the festival. Close up looks of the Floats, experience the control of wooden puppet, enter the display float & etc. During the festival, floats will back to their storehouse. Therefore, no floats will be display at the exhibition.

(Translated by Google) [Click here if you want to know about the Furukawa Yancha Festival] A hot festival in Hida that will be held on April 19th and 20th. It is difficult to visit at the right time, so it is recommended for those who want to know about the Furukawa Festival. Screening of the Furukawa Festival at the theater. I thought it was beautiful, and when I saw it, it was 4K. Full of realism. It seems that you can also experience a replica of Okoshi-daiko and a mechanical device. The limited Sarubobo here was cute! I was worried about whether to buy it or not. I fully enjoyed the festival in one place. It is correct to come from Hida Takayama to Hida Furukawa. Thanks to my friend who recommended Hida Furukawa! (Translated by Google) I got a manhole card at the Hida Festival Hall reception. A lot of carps are swimming in the river of irrigation water in the streets of Hida Furukawa, but it is beautiful. By the way, it is called Hida Furukawa's Little Kyoto. It seems that there is It was fun to see the displays of floats and dolls in the museum. (Translated by Google) You can actually operate the floats and karakuri dolls that are actually used in the traditional Furukawa Festival. Sake offerings at festivals are also on display, and I was surprised at the large number of them. About 10,000 bottles of sake are offered over the two days of the festival. 😁 In addition, traditional Hida dishes that are served on festival days are reproduced and displayed. I could feel their enthusiasm for the Furukawa Festival. That's amazing power😅 At the theater hall, the Furukawa Festival is being screened, and since it's 4K, you can't help but feel like you're there. I think the entrance fee is cheap at 700 yen❗ I visited for the first time, but it was a really good memory 🤗 (Original)

It's a small museum, but don't let that stop you. The short movie on the matsuri is almost worth it alone, but the yatai are beautiful, and overall gives a very good description of the festival. If anything, it makes me want to come back for the next festival!
