If you are visiting Takayama this is the place to go to buy things you might need on the cheap. I was walking around looking for a sandwich/ snack which I could eat on my 2 and half ride to nagoya but everywhere I went was small and expensive. Here I could get everything I needed (and a few snacks I didn't need) For less then all the take away stores near Takayama station or in the main street. Also has a huge selection of sake which is cheaper than the tourist liquor shop near the station.

Reasonable good range of products and some ready to eat meals. Around 50% of the area dedicated to food and the other 50% dedicated to drinks with a wide selection of sake.

A very good place to go after having dinner near station area. Large, clean, products are well organized and prices are fairly reasonable, shopkeepers are polite as well. Strongly recommended.

Well stocked grocery store with decent but not great prices. Plenty of ready made dishes to choose from but lacking a bit on sushi. Maybe expected as Takayama is not by the coast.
