A great place to take a family and relax. Many people enjoy dressing up in 19 century clothes and getting their photo taken in front of this Scottish castle. There are 2 restaurants but my personal favourite is the one by the entrance called Patricia. The atmosphere there is great. Pets are welcome.

Real European castle moved from Scotland and rebuilt in this place. Only some rooms are used for exhibition purposes. Its property is big so you can enjoy walk around. There are ducks around a pond. They were very cute and friendly.

Castle Lockhart is a fun place to explore with friends or family. It was originally a castle built in Spain and was moved to Gunma. Entrance fee is ¥1000. Once inside you can check out some small museum exhibitions about rocks and dinosaurs. There is also a bell tower where you can ring a bell at the very top. The park has a restaurant serving European style food, dishes are about ¥1200 each. Finally, the castle itself is nice, and not too big. You can rent clothing and walk around the castle and park grounds to take photos. When you leave, there's a gift shop selling stones and bracelets.

Lovely little place! Don't miss the gate tower leading up to the castle. You can walk out onto the rampart.

Really good place to spend 3-4 hours with family n friends but very expensive to buy any stuff from the shops but if you love antique then it could be worth. Food at patricia restaurant was good with very warm service. Staff all was really supportive with some English speaking ladies as well

This place is so beautiful and romantic!! You can buy a glass/metal heart to place somewhere around the grounds with your significant other. It was a cool experience. This would be a nice place to get married. I love the surrounding trees, and the castle is gorgeous. Definitely worth it if you’re in the area.

We went here last April 2018 with my family. The castle gave me a very western vibe especially the inside museum. It was pleasing. What I love about this castle is you can dress up like a princess. I recommend visiting this if you are living/staying around or near Gunma with your partner. But if you are from a far place and wants to go here, there are greater western castles you can find aside from this. I hope my review helps.

This was a fabulous time for us! We booked the princess experience and a photographer and they were so kind to us. Took photos inside and out and were sent them right away. It was truly special. My only concern is the limited number of dress options for plus size women. Didn't deter us but something that could perhaps be worked on for future full figured customers.

A unique medieval castle in Japan. Very scenic, picturesque and good for instagram. I really like the view and some old stuff that this castle have. The church, restaurant and blooming flowers are so nice to see. We(family) went there during a good sunny day and it’s our first stop before going to Ikaho Green Bokujo. My daughter was really excited on the way to Lockheart Castle and since she really likes princesses. We opted to have her rent a dress for an hour (her own choice of dress) and be a princess in our eyes. 👍 She really had fun. With regards to amenities. This place have a great restaurants and souvenir shops. Some rooms or area are kinda crowded with too much stuffs though. There is an entrance fee and you can get a coupon through their official web page. Parking space is free. If you visit this place on busy days, I recommend to go there early to avail the parking space in front of main place or else you’ll be redirected to the other parking space that they have. About 600 away I think. With that, plan your travel ahead and enjoy. 😉

A very beautiful European town themed place. Especially the mini version of the Lockhart castle. My visit during the winter was worth it when the castle is covered in snow. Even the food you get here is European. The museum inside is quite good. You could easily spend at least 3 hours here.

Very typically Japan random tourist attraction. Pretty chintzy overall, but somewhat entertaining. Be sure to come in June when the roses are in bloom, but be ready for crowds. Check out Kelly as well, a Canadian playing some nice tunes outdoors on the weekend. Would normally only give three stars, but added one because they let us bring our dog and seat him on the throne, where he belongs!

A real Scottish castle in Japan. Nice place to visit with family and friends, make sure you have enough time to rent a dress and do a photo shoot, if you are a enthusiast.

It is a real castle outside. Inside it’s a museum/souvenir/photo studio. Not really much to see. If you want to dress up as a prince and princess, this place is for you.

Nice place. But they should buy new clothes or clean and wash em regularly. Clothes were too dirty too wear.

👍👍 This place is breathtaking. It is absolutely worth it to take a trip up to this viewpoint. Was one of the highlights of my trip, must-do if in the area. I visited while I was in Takayama, and it is a very easy bus ride there and back.
