Absolutely astonishing place to visit. The rich cultural heritage of the Welsh made large in the form of their architectural history. Will be returning many more times

This place is just full of wonder, surprise and a feeling of deep seated history. Port yourself back to generations gone by with such a fantastical feeling of past history. Educational, informative and really worth a visit. The sheer scale of the place is immense and each place you visit awakens the senses.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable experience here a few days ago & have to confess to being surprised by just how much was there. Be aware however that as they don't charge for entry you will pay through the nose for food & drinks bought on site.

A wonderful outdoor museum that is free to enter, just pay parking. Great for all ages and is a perfect family day out. You can find new sights every time you go.

Grand old Elizabethan manor house masquerading as a castle because it was built on the former site of one. Not being a huge fan of musty old houses, the most stunning part for me were the terraced gardens and water features. The day we visited the staff were preparing for a wedding. What a lovely venue.

Big place. Lots of interesting buildings. Security people are a mixture from the chatty to the scourers, but hey ho! I bet the garden is lovely at the right time. Castle very limited due to damage but it didn't detract much. Lots of school kids come here and is wheelchair friendly except for some buildings.

No ticket, as there is a £6 parking fee. Was a humid day, have water with you. Gardens are lovely, the manor house is magnificent, and the exibits give meaning to Welsh history. I reccomend 2-3 hours to fully appreciate St. Fagans.

Great day out, you need a full day to see it all. The history of Wales told in the buildings. A worthwhile unique experience. Knowledgeable guides in each location. You really get a sense of the history of Wales.

Despite the name, St Fagans Castle is actually a grand manor house built in the time of Elizabeth I (the building is actually shaped as an E in her honour). The castle itself is rather unique in the fact it is one of only a handful of buildings in the museum which were originally built here. Many of the rooms inside are very well decorated and give an idea of the lifestyle the castle's previous residents would have enjoyed. Outside, the castle is surrounded by a variety of beautiful gardens which also house some of the museum's reconstructed buildings.

House and grounds are lovely. Access to the house is quite limited, but it is all free. Cafe was nice, took our drinks out and sat in the gardens once we had eaten our cake.

I loved this place, I think you could spend days there and still not see everything. I loved seeing how they lived long ago. I really enjoyed seeing the progress of houses through time. All of it was very interesting and great walkways through the park area

So interesting! The castle is within the St Fagans national museum grounds and between the two you could easily spend a day here without losing interest. Speaking specifically about the castle, which is actually an Elizabethan manor house, it's the gardens which are of greatest interest. They are really quite beautiful and a great place to have a picnic. Only two rooms in the house were open when we visited but they are heavy with period atmosphere, well worth a quick look inside.

Well, what a lovely afternoon I've had going round this beautiful place. So well thought out. Lots of relocated historically important buildings dating back many centuries. Set in the parkland surrounding the castle (Manor House), this is a must visit for young and n8t so young. Must take your buggy or scooter if you struggle with a walk, but there are plenty of wide paths, so you can get about easily. Take a packed lunch or use the various eating options on site. Plenty of loos and benches dotted about too. Love the fact that the attraction is constantly evolving with more socially important buildings. Thank you yo all of the team. P.s. there are only a couple of rooms to see in the castle, but there will hopefully be a few more rooms open later on in the summer (2023)

Lovely place to visit, everyone was welcoming and as there is no entrance fee just a parking charge, it's a fab place for families.

The Castle is amazing, free admission and has lovely gardens where you can walk and enjoy the nature. They need donations for refurbishing the upsters floor...

This is an excellent historical park with lots of activities and things for kids to do. It's very large if you want to see all the different historical buildings. Make sure you have a couple hours at least and prepare for a lot of walking. From city centre we took an Uber here but couldn't get one back. Luckily there is a bus stop right out front and the 32 line will take you right back to the city centre.

Parkland with play areas for kids and lots of authentic buildings from the old days (moved and re-built from original locations). Very interesting for Welsh history, plus a superb elizabethan castle (v large stone house) surrounded by ponds and streams and lovely gardens. Free to go in but £6 to park. Well worth a visit or even repeat visits.

Although it wasn't full open there was still a lot to take in, it's a pleasant walk up and the views are stunning. Very well kept gardens and large pond / small lake (mixed on what it would be) it seem a strange place to stumble on when you make it to it after everything else you'll see around before. Recommended.

Nice day out at St Fagans. Free to enter just parking of £6 to pay so well worth it. Lots of history of Wales well looked after. Excellent guides ready to answer any questions. Spend 5 hours walking around with several places to stop and have a bite to eat. Only disappointment was visiting the castle as told only 2 rooms to see at the time we got there, not sure reason but think something to do with member of staff on lunch break and no other mention if we would be able to see the rest of the castle as the lady left us alone very quickly before being able to question her. Then appeared 15 minutes later and ushered us out. Maybe my fault not checking if it was guided tours only.

A truly wonderful Elithibethan Manor house of the Plymouth family...(Currently going through extensive renovation) so not all the house can be viewed at the moment, there are the gardens, lakes and terraces around the house which then leads to the Folk History part of the museum...be prepared for a full day to cover your visit with a lot of walking...the paths are wheel chair friendly . The staff based at each exhibit are knowledgeable about the exhibits and their history...fresh food and beverages are available at several locations around the site as are loos and restrooms.. You can even get fish and chips ...super! A super day out on the outskirts of Cardiff well recommended 👌

We absolutely love St Fagans and visit here all year round whilst it's open. It's also dog friendly as long as they are kept on a lead. No scooters or bikes allowed though.

Very good day, managed to walk the whole way round, started out at the cafe, ordered food and drinks and sat down the eat, the burgers & chips with onion rings meals we ordered were stone cold, didnt enjoy the meal at all, we got there at 11am so not like it had been out long, the only decent thing was the lattes, carried on with our day, really enjoyed walking round everything and having a good look round, the ice cream half way round way brilliant, didn't see much wildlife in the bird hide as the feeders we empty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet.
