After having given Basil Ginger 2 stars, (due to many areas that needed worked on) they asked us to come back to try to hopefully have a nice experience. While I really do wish I could go from a 2 star to a 5 star, I can't. They have worked so hard however from my family's last visit. The tables, and the restaurant were very clean. The staff that greeted us were extremely pleasant, and were timely in seating us. Our wait staff came quickly, were friendly, and always showed interest in making sure our needs were met. On to the important part now, the food. It was very nice. I firmly recommend the "da Bomb" roll. The miso soup is not the best I've had, but it was enjoyable. The chicken appears to be a flat frozen chicken breast in the curry, and it chews the same way. Otherwise the curry itself is very nice. I would not say by any means does the food, and service rank to a 5 star when they are serving what appears to be frozen food. A very enjoyable night I would say however.

One of the best restaurants in the valley. Very good food and great service. My wife and I love this place. We have ordered many different items on the menu and they are all good. They have very good sushi. The Alaska Roll is awesome!!! And they have fantastic steak here as well .

Clean, quick, friendly and tasty. We had the Snap Pea Shrimp and Sesame Chicken. Both were good. For those looking for sweeter side, Sesame Chicken is great option. Snap Pea Shrimp delivered on fresh savory. Parking is plentiful and easy to access. Returned 2 years later and had another great experience. Tried the Mai Roll. Loved it!! Highly recommend. Great if someone isn't sure about trying sushi roll. Lettuce wraps are a crowd pleaser for an appetizer to share. The fried cheesecake bites are perfect for sharing amongst a few people. I tried the Basil Stir Fry with shrimp/prawns. This dish was good. Not spicy unless you were to actually eat the chili pepper (which I don't). I recommend the snap pea shrimp over the stir fry.

5/5- super delicious food. Super bright and amazing ambience. Around in wasilla, I highly recommend this place for best Thai and sushi. We had dietary restrictions and they so flexibly accommodated it. No fuss at all. This is something I loved and appreciate for an amazing restaurant. All their food we had were just lip smacking. After a long day, one always crave for comfort food and this place will fulfill that for sure. Must Go

We were pleasantly surprised by our first dinner at Basil Ginger. All of the food was excellent! The service was good, with our servers and other staff were very kind. The busy times you may want to reserve a table but we didn’t have to wait long. Happy with everything and most importantly the food. The Mai roll was excellent. All in all a very good experience and unlike other several places we’ve eaten at we didn’t wish we ate at home. Worth the money and a nice night out. We went again recently for our anniversary. It was delightful. Excellent food, consistently done well.

Some food are really good but some are really salt. It's depends who cook. I guess, I get the salty one 😮‍💨. It was on Sunday 8/14. As we told the server, the owner was nice to remove from the bills.

Ordered take out, asked for egg rolls. Apparently they have changed them and they are not even close to the way use to be. I’m very disappointed with what I received. They are supposedly shrimp, but they look weird. Edit: I was given a credit to use towards my next meal. I truly hope they go back to their old egg rolls, they were my favorite. The hostess on the phone was very sweet and apologetic.

It's a fancy high-end restaurant so having a pleasant experience is a must. Date got her soup way early which left me just sitting there looking around until the appetizer of chicken wraps arrived. It had good flavor but only few minutes past then the main course of sesame chicken arrived. I had to rearrange the table so I could finish the wraps and not bump into my other plates. The sesame chicken was not good for me the size was monstrous and prevented me from eatting my favorite way of mixing it with my rice all in one bite . I tried cutting them into more manageable bites but the breading was so hard my fork edge couldn't cut them and kept tilting my bowl. The best way to describe it (and this sounds mean I know) are those frozen Chinese chicken dinners you put in the oven. It's a fine place but just not for me.

We had dinner at Basil Ginger, and it was a mixed experience. We tried the Panang curry dinner combo, which included a half order of California roll and a choice of soup. I opted for the hot and sour soup. We also ordered the Mongolian beef combo, which came with egg dumplings and soup. Both main dishes were delicious, and the ambiance was pleasant. However, the egg rolls and soups were just okay. If you find yourself in the Wasilla area and craving Chinese or Asian food, I'd recommend giving this place a try. My suggestion? Skip the combo and go for just the entree. Cheers!

Found them on Google. Was worth it to go and try it out. I was worried when I saw my bowl of food because it didn't look like it was much food, but it was definitely enough. I was very full. The food was delicious. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I definitely recommend a stop here next time you're hungry. 😀

I’ve been here twice and both times the food and service was great. The house rolls are probably the best things to order here. Alaska Roll was wonderful. Curry was pretty tasty except I was unaware of the Thai chili in it! The curry itself was pretty mild as long as you eat around the pepper. After accidentally eating the pepper and having a mouth on fire, our waitress kindly gave us a free Thai tea to help calm the heat. I’ll definitely be returning!

They have good sushi and sashimi menu. Everything was presented and prepared well. Almost everything was delicious. I recommend to make reservation. Service was outstanding. Great place for business dinner.

My daughter and I went in for lunch on Sunday, and we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered rolls and soup. Our meals came within 15 minutes and were both so good! Another time, we came as a family on a busy night with several large parties ahead of us. We waited 25 minutes, but the hostesses were so kind and messaged us when our table was ready. This is a great spot for a family dinner, celebration, or a date night. It's one of our favorites!

The restaurant is lovely with ample seating and parking. Our initial server was very good and attentive but between the ordering and the rest of the meal we had a different wait staff who didn't connect with us well. The food (cashew shrimp and chicken lo mein) was okay. It is food one could get in any decent Chinese restaurant. There was nothing that stood out where I would have to seek out this particular restaurant for the taste. The vegetables were chopped poorly if at all. I had a whole shallot on my plate--not something one would want.

SO TASTY!! This is the best food we had visiting Alaska! Everything was very well made and fresh. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean. Definitely recommend stopping for lunch or dinner!

Been an occasional customer since they first opened. When it was new the food was amazing... The staff always greets you with a smile. The interior always looks nice. Tonight I picked up Pad Thai for me and Sesame Chicken for the lady. The pad thai had an odd flavor neither of us could pinpoint. Slightly burnt vegetable is the closest description. I didnt make it half way through & ended up making a ham sandwich instead. I have never had a Pad Thai that i did not want to finish before this one. I dont think I have even had 1 that i could speak negatively about. The Sesame chicken wasnt bad, but nothing to brag about either. The flavor, meat, and breading was on par with the "cheaper" places in town. If they arent making it from scratch anymore then they are buying it from the same vendor. The first 6 months they were open, their Sesame Chicken was the best I've ever had. None of the pieces were fatty or stringy, and no little clumps of breading with no meat inside. Eventually it started to slide downhill to become the same as the other places. So i switched to the General Tso's chicken, which was also top notch when they opened. Eventually its quality and flavor fell to the level of the Sesame chicken for the same reasons. Once upon a time it used to be soooo good! 😞

They had seating outdoors, which was enjoyable. Crab dip was good, came out hot. I got the chicken cashew, which I only took a few bites out of before getting full. Leftovers for the next day, yay. Parking can be limited if they are busy. Just know that there is parking on the other side ofnthe building you may have to walk. Wanted something different. Not many options to choose from in the valley. May try again later down the road.

Friday night and we were able to walk right I and get two spots at the sushi bar. If we had wanted a table, there would have been a wait. We ordered the fire ball roll as our appetizer.. ot was amazing with a huge topping of spicy tuna. If you like spicy deep fried rolls, then definitely try this! I got the Thai basil beef and even though the flavors weren't out of this world, it was super fresh and delicious. I got an egg roll and bowl of wonton soup with it as well. Yea, it may sound weird but the broth of the wonton soup was exceptional! Who ever talks about broth?! Yum! And the egg roll was superb with a tangy dipping sauce I'd never tasted before. My date had the curry chicken. It was a beautiful dish. Wish it had more heat though, it was pretty mild. The place as a whole was great, two separate small dining areas and one sushi bar. It wasn't to loud or rambunctious. The perfect atmosphere.

The soups are all delicious and the best sushi in the valley! They also make the best deep fried cheesecake I’ve ever had! The place is usually busy, and that’s always a good sign, so I usually just get takeout and it’s always hot (or cold) and relatively fast too!

Wasilla has limited options for food, but boy was I happy when I found this gem! Totally unsuspecting but a great place to take a date or have a business dinner. The food is amazing and their service is FAST. -The pad thai is made with real tamarind and the tofu option had a slightly charred flavor which gave it a depth of flavor I’ve yet to have with pad thai. Best pad thai in the state! -Hot and sour prawn soup was tangy and comforting. Huge prawns and a massive portions. -The nigiri was so fresh and colorful. -Some of our calamari was slightly overdone but the flavor and sauce made up for it. Loved the little bits of jalapeños and the crunchy red pepper in there. (Would not advise eating the red one if you don’t like 🌶️🌶️🌶️ though) -Vegetable curry could use a protein like tofu in it, but was still tasty without.

Incredible food that tastes as good as it looks. Gino is an incredible restauranteur who knows how to make impeccable food. In particular, I recommend the green curry, which is packed with flavor.

Everything was fresh and delicious. I did not take the owner up on their kind offer of a gift card. I just randomly dropped in to get a to-go-order. Good food, and polite staff. I'm glad I went back to give them another chance at cooking. Old review: "The calamari was chewy and oily. Not battered very well.. lots of missing spots. The sesame chicken was very dry, with some chunks so stringy as to be not chewable and the rice was like a cup of instant rice you microwave, but they forgot the water. The broccoli beef was okay."
