Food & drinks was decent and hearty, the interior and atmosphere were charming but i have to talk about our server/waitress Diani (apologies for any spelling error) who was actually smiling (with teeth! A rare phenomenon in Tallinn) and was very helpful and patient! I hope you continue to smile like that and that it spreads to others. Be well!

Amazing food and nice atmosphere. Only reason for a 4 star is because of the customer service. The guy at the bar was being passive aggressive for no reason. Probably because he's been working there for years and is at the end of his fuse.

I would like to give 6 stars but couldn't find how.. This is our 1st time visit this restaurant. I found this restaurant from Google Map, and there are so many good reviews. So, I decided to choose this to hang out with my best friend from Czech. (Last day in Estonia) We visit at peak hour 6.30- 7pm for dinner but surprisingly we got our food quick without long waiting. (Almost full house) Food taste and quality are so good. Price is also affordable. With the beautiful interior and cosy environment, I would say the food price is low compared to some other restaurants nearby (especially compared with Old Town) The floor staff give 💯 % attention to all customers, and they always have a round check if we need anything else (most question is : Would you like to have another beer?) 😁 well, don't get it wrong, we love it! We love the friendly attitude, plus professional behaviour too. The chef has done so well to our foods, too. From Starters to Desserts..yummm Thank you, Chef & kitchen staff! Oh ya, I ordered the hot chocolate. It's really good. (Maybe the environment helps to add on some extra great flavour) 😁 thanks, Bartender ! And, there is another hidden gem you should visit >>> WC It's beautiful and clean 😍 Overall, good food with affordable price + good environment & professional staff! My first time Vana Villem was in 2015 and I had a great experience. Then, I had the pleasure to return now in October 22 and I really enjoyed my second time here. Really great service from beginning to the end, polite, friendly and attentive waitress, gorgeous food - please pass this to the chefs, good price, big portions, excellent pint of Guinness and fantastic atmosphere. Great place for working lunch, dinning or just hang out with friends for a drink. I really recommend and I will be back soon.

Service was quick and nice. Ordered cheese filled jalapenos which were quite hot as expected. Chocolate fondant with cherries in liqueur, pomegranate seeda and ice cream was really good, more than you'd expect from a pub. Tom Collins cocktail was also well done.

We were so glad our lovely Ibis-hotel employee suggested this place when their own restaurant was fully reserved (as was another restaurant we had planned to go to at first!).. Saturday evening, yes: it is a busy night, and yes you need to wait a _little_ longer, but it is totally worth it! My daughter andI had the American burgers with fries (only € 7,- p.p.), my wife and I had great beer (Vana Villem Valga White beer) and everything within acceptable time for such busy night. We had not reserved, definitely advisable(!), but they found us a great space (sort of booth) on the spot and we could finally eat after walking the whole day.. The food is great, really really great and the prices are nothing to complain about All in alla great experience and we will definitely come back another day. Thanks to our waiters, who are never far away and are visible and pushing by frequently. 10 out of 10 😃 P.S.> Sorry, no photo of the excellent burgers, we were to hungry and they were too tasty before we grabbed our camera... 😉👍

Hyvin suosittu pubi eikä ihme. Hyvää ruokaa ja loistavaa palvelua. Alkuruoka, pääruoka, pari olutta ja hintaa noin 20 euroa. Olen muutamia ketoja käynyt ja aina täyttä. Syyskuun ensimmäinen päivä 2023: Vana Villemi Pubi, Tartu mnt 50 Tallinn Olut 4,50 Viini 4 euroa lasi Lõhe wokitud juurviljade ja kartulipureega, lohi ja muusi 12.50€ Pardirind veinikastme, ratatouille ja kartulipureega, ankkaa ja muusi 12,50€ Muutamia kertoja käynyt tässä pubissa. Aina hyvää palvelua ja erinomaista ruokaa. Paikka on aina täysi ja tällä kertaa jouduimme jopa jonottamaan, että pääsimme nauttimaan hyvästä ilmapiiristä, erinomaisesta ruuasta ja palvelusta. Itse otin lohta ja seuralainen ankkaa. Molempien annos oli viimeisen päälle tehtyä, taidolla ja sydämellä. Suosittelen. Stockalta suoraan lentokentälle päin noin pari kolme sataa metriä.

Ihana tunnelmallinen ravintola /baari. Siisti, tyylikäs ja tilava paikka. Hyvä ja maukas ruoka sopivalla hinnalla. Kävimme tässä paikassa syömässä 2 kertaa kun jäi kiva fiilis ekan käynnin jälkeen. Suosittelen tätä paikkaa!!! 😊👌

Now this is pub food as its finest. The environment very irish styled. The staff was very friendly and the food was good, so good that this was my 5th time at this place.

I've been a client of this pub for over 10 years, visiting at least once a month. Waitresses are human if you are, my favorite one is called rude here, never been rude to me but very straightforward to my husband who has special requests for his food sometimes and the cooks don't take special requests there. She has become so special to us that we almost always leave tip to her, not to anyone else, just her. What I would like to mention is that over 10 years the quality and prices of food have stayed the same, I know cause I order basically same stuff every time and it's always great. Definitely one of my favorite places for a dine-in meal.

We were 1/2 day in Tallinn on our way to Canada and stopped at this pub with kids for dinner. The food was excellent and not expensive (compared to prices in Canada). We ordered schnitzel, pork ribs and chicken. All portions were large and delicious! The service was great. Thank you the owner, the servers and the chief! We would visit the place again next year. BTW. I recommended this pub to my friend. He was there today and is very satisfied.

Quite decent place with tasty and not so expencive food. Usually you can find a place to sit, but I recommend booking one on busy days.

Good place to taste Vana Villem pub beers with friends. The pub located around 10min walk from Tallinn Coach station.You can taste also the craft beers from other Estonia bryweries. Some beers available in bottles. You can also taste wine and other beverages (good choice). You can enjoy also to order some food (very tasty). You can book the table or delivery your order by WOLT.

Interior of the place is nice and also a good location as there are not that many pubs in this area. However it was one of the worst service experiences I can recall. We had a group of 10+ people and we went there without prior booking. However it was a Thursday night so plenty of space. We chose a corner and joined two tables and when our waiter arrived he already had a very bad attitude as if he preferred we didn't go there. First he made quite nasty comments for joining two tables (which we thought would be rather helpful) and then he said that all the group can only pay together. Meaning no option of sharing the bill - one receipt one card. Since I only wanted one drink, I tried getting it at the bar as there were 2-3 bartenders just standing idle without anything to do. They refused to serve me and said I already have my table. OK. Finally when we started getting our drinks, our waiter spilled most of them, some on actual guests. Instead of apologizing he said it was because we had moved the tables. He had so much space to move around that in Paris they'd put extra tables there. But we stayed calm, did not criticize him and tried to enjoy our after-work. Then at some point we were ordering another round and he said that they are not serving us anymore because someone at the next table (which was also part of our group, some people who arrived later and got a separate table) got fed up with the waiter's attitude, said their service was terrible, paid the bill and left. Waiter said he's offended and thus he's no longer serving us either. Because of something that happened in another table, under another bill. Up to some point the service so bad was somewhat odd and funny as service in Tallinn is usually quite good, if not excellent. But at that point I also got fed up. Then I went to the bar and asked whether I could just pay for my two drinks and leave. No chance. I can only pay the bill of the whole table of around 12 people. I've worked in service as well - about 10 years ago and even then I knew how I can help bigger groups to divide their bill so that everyone could pay. All there is to do is to let people divide the sum between them, insert different digits into the terminal, process payments, add them up and it's all good and everyone can have a fun night (and the waiter/waitress possibly some good tips). But that level of service was terrible and it was not just the waiter but the staff at the bar just saw the situation and ignored it. We weren't loud or obnoxious, bunch of professionals coming from a networking event. We were actually quite polite and tolerant despite the humiliating and arrogant service we received yet in no way deserved. So all in all I can safely say it's one of the worst service experiences I can recall. If you're looking for a pub-like place to go in this area, rather choose the american pub-place across the street. Ah also - the place does not allow dogs which is also weird in Estonia as even in top old town restaurants well-behaved dogs are welcome.

The place has a great interior and so far I never had any problem with English. The energy is so high when the place gets quite crowded and the service is still very fast. I visit Vana Villem often but we also hosted a company evening and it was one of the greatest events we had. Perfect place for everything!

I went to Vana Villem with rather low expectations, but I was incredibly positively surprised! The interior looks exactly like you expect an old fashioned English pub to look, it's large and open, yet cozy. The food was good and relatively cheap, and the staff was nice! :)

Extremely friendly service in a traditional style British pub. The food is Estonian however and it is excellent, very tasty. Good beer too and reasonable prices. A large space, suitable even for bigger groups.

The service is bad, our server didn't even say hello and didn't smile a single time. The food was OKAY but way to oily and greasy. For sure there are better places nearby.
