Lovely little underground pub. Never would have found it in my own, but very glad my local friends took me there. Good atmosphere, and we had a nice secluded area at the back. Nice selection of beers and drinks. Really tasty pub food, and I had a really nice vegan burger (am veggie but appreciate the option). Will go back again, definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely great! I had always wanted to go, but I thought it was in Old Town somewhere. Then I realized it is inside the library building, around the corner, at cellar level. The place has a really cosy, positive feel to it, and their owner is super nice. I came before it was actually open, out of curiosity, and he told me all about the place. So, basically the pub is named after a figure in an A.H.Tammsaare book, Mr. Mauruse, a school teacher. The napkin holders are handmade, and the owners idea of how the guy looks. Guests feel so well they made some of the decoration for the pub, prices are modest, and you can read books and magazines inside. For beer drinkers, they also have a decent selection of beers. I will be coming back with friends. :)

Truly the Finnish bar experience. Just a bit outside of Helsinki center you will find this place serves tons of good beer, fine cocktails and the atmosphere outside is great with benches and seating.

Absolutely great food - who would've thought that pub food is made with such attention to detail - and so delicious. Try the cheese balls, the goat cheese salad. The pulled salmon, the cheese wiener schnitzel. All so tasty. New favorite. Amazingly nice staff.

The lamb in a pot with dumplings is a MUST try absolute 10/10 perfection!!!

Really nice place. Little but hard to find but worth trying. We came late so we did not have opportunity to check dishes from kitchen. We had pint of draught Saku and some of local pastry.

I like this pub because you can have a conversation with no need to shout. There is a nice selection of beers. And you can choose between the larger room or smaller rooms. It is cozy. And it has a nice blend of locals and tourists (usually with more locals than tourists). It is elegant yet not pompous. And it is clean: no need to worry about beer spilling on your shoes. The service is fast and welcoming. 2022 update: keeps being a very welcoming place.
