Bartender was extremely rude. We came into the bar and politely asked where could we see drinks menu, and he said “the is no menu” and just walked away and ignored us. Someone needs to learn how to communicate with customers:) if you don’t want to be dissapointed, I suggest you to skip this place!

This place and its patrons is racist. They refused to serve me and a couple people started making jokes about me not being Estonian. I advised foreigners, especially of colour not to even consider going here. I left without being served and a bad feeling in my stomach. This review probably will not change it much since it only caters for Estonians!

I didn't believe the hype about a trip to Tallinn being incomplete without a visit to this tiny, unassuming bar... But I was definitely incorrect. It is a must-visit place. When we arrived, we were a little unsure. We stuck out like sore thumbs in a room full of locals. But once they started warming up to us, we had a BLAST. We ended up staying for SIX hours and having some very interesting conversations with so many people. The pictures attached are the Estonia shot (delicious), the Ukraine shot (yum), and their famous Milli Mallika (jellyfish) shot... which is not for the faint-hearted 😅 If you try it, good luck! Anyway, if it's not clear by my review... go to this bar!!! You will have a great time. Strike up a conversation and see where it takes you :)

the bartender better retire and sit in his house...not for a shop...unacceptable.and the atmosphere musty.

I would like to formally apologize to the staff for the many times I've brought people here on their first trip to Estonia for Milli Mallikas. The bartender begrudgingly accepts us, as do the locals. Just get OUT when you're done. They don't want your large tourist party in their locals bar all night. Thank you so much for the great experience.

If there was only option to put zero stars or even minus. The white-haired, older bartender (the owner?!) is most likely the most awful bartender or just a man you ever met. Better pass by this place, seriously.

Aitoa meinikiä vuodesta 1969 eikä mikään muuttunut. Jopa 2 hanurin soittajaa livenä ja edulliset drinkki hinnat.

Very bad service!!! My friend just wanted to use the loo, but was turned down by the bartender who was clapping his hands and saying NO. He also asked his friend to hold the door shut so that my friend couldn't get in. He literally lost 11 customers right there. Don't go there if you value good service!

The only good bar in Tallin. Full of locals, great music and cheap prices. Never felt so welcomed in a bar before. The toilet is spotless, drinks are delicious and the locals are so kind. The staff are so nice too. 200 out of 10. A must go if you are in Tallin, the most authentic experience around! Don't be intimidated by how small and full it is, it's a gem.

Mutta erikoisempi drinkkejä on turha tilata. Tarjolla myös erilaisia leipiä. Kuten sillileipä. Tietoa ei ole kuinka kauan ne oval olleet pöydällä muovin alla. Aiai, Valli Baari edullisine juomineen, kiluleipineen ja asiakaineen! Tänne täytyy palata joka Tallinnan reissulla ja välistä viettää aikaa koko ilta vaikka yöhön saakka. Milli Mallikas on aika äksy paukku; juo jos uskallat. Paikalliset juttelevat turisteillekin ja tunnelma on kotoisa.

There isn't a more iconic bar than this in Tallinn. For ages diplomats and street sweepers have sat there as equals and enjoyed a cold pint together.

We sat down looking for food and drink and the waiter literally shooed us away. Putting hands on us and pushing us. We were confused and asked if we could order or if they were closing or something. He refused to talk to us. We bought 3 rounds of drinks, coffees and food at cafe revel next door instead.

Lovely authentic Estonian bar with 70's vibe. If you want to experience local Tallinn atmosphere, come here! Drinks are very cheap too

Not kid friendly to say the least, got some frosty looks from all in there with my wife and 4 year old. Was recommended to go by a friend, might be great with just adults, but don't go with kids.

Authentic and old estonian bar. Stay there for longer and talk to locals or get quick shot of Millimalikas and go to next place.

Cheapest beers in Tallin. Very Authentic and affordable bar. Friendly, family owned establishment.

Every time I come to Tallinn - I go for a beer or two, and something else. Even got DVD documentary on Valli Baar as a present from my Estonian friends - quite a place with own stories. I know I don't belong there, so I behave. Puzzled to hear reviewers call it grumpy Soviet or Russian place - so you don't get it. Time around midnight is the best, gets relaxed and noisy. Weird but friendly conversations, music, singing. Love it.

Best and most unique baar in Tallinn. Friday and Saturday nights are massive! Been here hundreds of times. Always great!

Nice local bar, old style feeling. Very nice staff. Usual prices for old town.

I’m sure that if you are a middle aged Estonian man this is a great local bar. But as a tourist we did feel a little out of place. Drink prices are good but as I said you don’t exactly feel welcome as a tourist. Still worth a visit for a truely Estonian experience but 1 drink was enough for us.

It's an old timers bar, very small and very local. Probably the cheapest place in town for a beer and I would guess the clientele is made up of old Estonian celebritys, politicians and poets, with a couple of Finnish from time to time. It's nothing fancy but it's not trying to be anything it isn't. But I can guarantee you will not find a cheaper bar in town.

Interesting bar, many locals (tired but friendly people) drink here. Not for youth, I'd say :) And alcohol is very affordable, huge choice!
