👍👍 Very unique place in the middle of Tallinn. It is anything but fancy and has a great medieval vibe to it. The food is simple but delicious: ox ribs, elk soup, pies and sausages. Tried everything and all tasted awesome, but the highlight was definitely the elk soup. Super savoury and warming, I could... Very unique place in the middle of Tallinn. It is anything but fancy and has a great medieval vibe to it. The food is simple but delicious: ox ribs, elk soup, pies and sausages. Tried everything and all tasted awesome, but the highlight was definitely the elk soup. Super savoury and warming, I could have that every day. It’s perfect t for a quick lunch and there’s no wait time for the food and you’re right in the centre.

I didn't have so much fun in a restaurant for a very long time, maybe ever. The service was great, the whole place is really climatic and unusual. Both the soup and pastries tasted great and so did the beer. I hope to visit it again.

I loved this place , giving this medieval atmosphere. For me the best of the best was this lady giving her medieval character all the way while we were inside having the elk soup. While I was taking pictures of the place she also said “ I’m not a zoo animal to take pictures” ( don’t forget your 1 coin , so you can survive) 😄 so if you wanna have some fun comments, great food and medieval atmosphere, I can recommend this place 🇪🇪🏰

This place was absolutely amazing! Probably one of the things I will miss the most about Tallin. Not only is the food really tasty, it's very fairly priced and you're not waiting around for ages to be served. I loved the ladies attitude, it made the place seem very authentic and the decoration is brilliant, it really takes you back in time. We went back twice and would've gone back again if we had more time. If I could give it 10 stars I would

Must must visit when in Tallinn's Old Town not just for their tasty food but for the tavern experience as well. The lady at the counter is so full of humour and drama! We loved the interaction. The elk soup which is our favorite was served piping hot and it was full of flavour. We loved the pies as well. There were a variety of veggie pies which was interesting. The prices are very reasonable which is yet another reason to not miss this place. P.s Don't expect a spoon for your soup. You are supposed to slurp it down from the bowl just like in olden times!

I had one of the most memorable meals of my life here. The food and drink is good but the best part is that you are transported to the medieval times and the staff do a fantastic job of keeping you entertained. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Absolutely stupendous. Wonderful food! I had the elk stew and a couple of the meat pastries, the domestic and wild game meats. So freaking good! Along with a large light beer, perfect lunch meal! Absolutely loved the staff inside, staying in character, don't mess with the land lady! Listen up when you're in line so she doesn't have to repeat herself or risk her wrath! Next time I'm in Tallinn, I'm absolutely going back again.

It was the best medieval restaurant I have ever visited! The lady worked there is super fun, strict, and scary at the same time. Trying their soup is a must and they have great sausages and pickles as well!! :))

The food at this hidden gem is absolutely delicious. The staff speak English and Estonian, she is lovely and so nice. Fantastic customer service. I had their soup which was like a hug in a bowl and the pastries were delicious, so flaky and warm. I would highly recommend 👌🏾

Medieval tavern. Lady serving at the counter practically engages in role play from the start. Her commanding nature irked my friend, although you must enter the tavern with a prior open mind for the experience. Food served is soup, ox sausages and ribs, and ready-made pies. The ox sausages were served cold. But the overall experience itself was an enjoyable one.

As you walk through the door of this pub, you will be teleported to a time long, long ago. Order at the front, find your seat and obey the rules (which are posted on the wall) and you'll have a good time. Do be careful upon entering as it's very dark inside and will take your eyes a bit to adjust. NOTE: My rating is for a drinks experience only as we didn't eat here. TOP TIP: Try the mulled wine, it's delicious. I hope readers will find my review and photos helpful. Follow @tabestravels for more.

The best local authentic expensive you'll have in Tallinn! A dark, small, old, authentic, ancient Tabern. Giving you the 14th century vibe, service with attitude, clay dishes and pots. Soup, meat, molded wine served in a dark cave inside an old building. It's a must go experience, best in the afternoon when it's cold. Enjoy 😊

Old style location in the hearth of the capital. You will eat under a portico (or inside) looking at the main square. Food is genuine, good and the portion are huge. Prices are low! For order you need to go inside. I tried the tomahawk and a soup... simply delicious! Free pickles inside ;-)

The bakery is really awesome here. I ordered a carrot one and it was one of the best in my life. I believe prices are high a little for such a place with it’s food and services. Anyway it’s a good place to visit at least once and try their sausages and soup.

A bit touristy, but also very fun. The lady of the house is the boss. She is scary and welcoming and funny at the same time. Definetly worth a visit for a hot soup and some beer.

I felt myself in the 15th century. It was a great experience. Also, the elk soup is delicious! You should try! But be careful landladies can be angry. Don’t worry you will survive. 😂 PS: if you don’t have any money, you should run away..

Located inside the rathaus, you get a very good medieval tavern experience. If you ever wanted to try how would it be drinking beer in Westeros, start here. The lady at the counter is playing her role well, treating you with honesty but in a politely funny way. There are no cutleries, so you need to drink the elk soup. Sausage is also tasty, you need to pick your own pickles from a barrel and you can get good ale with your food too. There are pastries with different kind of fillings (they call them "bread"), they go well with the soup. Be prepared for a crowd, as the place is popular for a reason. The atmosphere is unbeatable but the food tastes good as well so don't miss it if you are in Tallinn. Regarding prices it is certainly not cheap but not ultra expensive, it is worth it.

I was walking by this place and the staff wearing medieval clothing caught my attention so I went inside. The waitress working was very direct and almost bossy, but that's part of the atmosphere. A friendly Irishman patron recommended the soup so that's what I ordered. You don't get utensils and you drink the soup directly from the bowl. I recommend stopping in for a meal here while in Tallinn. And yes, the soup and ox sausage was tasty.

Atmospheric medieval-themed bar/restaurant. Warmly recommended: savoury Elk soup for 4 “Money”. Great service. Love this place!

Bit of a tourist trap but worth it in the winter for the warming (and tasty) Elk soup (tastes just like Oxtail if you’re wondering). Word of advice - Don’t walk in there and start snapping pictures without ordering food, the waitresses are pretty blunt and don’t take kindly to it. I don’t blame them whatsoever!

iconic medieval tavern style place. bartenders are straightforward and to the point. staff is dressed in medieval gear and the whole place is almost self serving. you order at the bar and clean up your own plates. i loved it here and will definitely come again.

Want to go and get yelled at by the local maiden while drinking some mulled wine and eat some game meat? This is the place then! The staff really lived in the characters which was lots of fun to watch when other tourists came in and didn't understand the theme. Fun and quirky place and the wine was goooood, recommend it :-)

What a great spot to eat in Tallinn. Stumbled upon this and stopped in for a quick bite. Really friendly staff and great food. The beer was amazing and matched perfectly with the food. This is a must if u are in the area.

I wish we’d eaten here as it looked amazing. However, the pint and shot of dragons blood were fun and the bartender is hysterical - she’s playing a part of bad tempered medieval wench so don’t take it to heart!

Absolutely loved my visit here. Mugs of beer, pies and pigs tails all delicious! The staff where great and playing a part so expect some fun at your expense.

Well one of the oldest place in Tallinn I giess and with alredy well established tradition to serve ordinary drinks and well settled food ...which is great by the way... very much recommend to visit three drakons for good mood and try to make hostess smile

A perfect place for small bites. The medieval setting provides an unique dark ambience with surroundings lighted by candles. Food is good. Both meat and cabbage pies are tasty. The sausages go well with the pickles that are self-dished from a wooden barrel. Host created light moments with her witty remarks. A fun-filled dining experience.

Medieval place experience. Atmosphere is worth checking this place. It's strange at first, but then you understand it and it's fun. Very tasty elk soup. Sider is good. Staff is not super friendly, but interesting for sure.

Entertaining 'traditional' bar/restaurant in a beautiful, medieval setting. For the uninitiated, there's no menu and no service. You ask the lady at the counter what they have and order from her. There's a selection of rustic drinks and dishes all served in earthenware

This place is a piece of medieval nowadays. Very authentic, interesting and must-to-visit place for anyone who knows history a bit better than events from yesterday. Anyway I don't think soy sauce was available in medieval Europe despite this moose soup was great! I recommend to all my friends to visit this tavern while in Tallinn.

Nice medieval restaurant if you want a very medieval experience, the host lady was also truly in character that it was funny! Price is also decent and food is tasty!

Back in medieval times, the place is a must see when in Tallinn.. The soup was very good, the spinach pie too. The honey beer was perfect. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the ox sausages, but this is just me. The experience to catch the pickle from the barrel was interesting. Tip: they don't have spoons for soup, you have to drink it. I recommend to visit this place.

Interesting mediaeval cave like bar in the centre of Tallinn. Good atmosphere but only just passable beer

This is another fun medieval themed spot offering beers in ceramic pots, service in character of old medieval servers, and pies, sausages, and an ox dish. I would recommend this place to all; you won't regret it.

Very nice place to visit. Everything is like in medieval times, menu, pots, plates. No forks or spoons allowed. As a bonus you can get unlimited free pickles(as much as you can pick from big barrel). P.s. Moose grill was awesome
