Cafe Grenka

Restaurant

👍👍 One of the best Café restaurants in Tallinn. Great food, properly seasoned with fabulous designs. The steak was very juicy and tender with good side dishes. The fondue chocolate cake was pretty yummy too. Overall highly recommended. People often mention good, nice, breakfast, tasty, delicious, lunch, grenka, service, coffee, portions,

All day breakfast is wonderful. Always crowded, especially in the afternoon and during the weekends. The portions are huge, the food looks nice, everything I tried was beyond delicious.

A really nice brunch spot in Tallinn. The place is quite spacious and vibrant, we love the atmosphere and the seating. The food was very delicious and come in big portion. Coffee is a bit skimmed (suspecting non-fat milk) but it is okay.

It's good for a heavy breakfast or a lunch as well. I found it somewhat similar to a bruschetta (assembling some things over a bread) with a lot of salad to fill up the plate. I won't say it's exceptionally good, but it's not really bad either

Service was great, our waiter (probably the boss himself) was very friendly and attentive the minute we entered. He could easily take out order in English. If possible try to make a reservation, since this place seems to be very popular and you'll have to wait some time on the weekends for sure. Their breakfast selection is awesome and very extensive, so everyone will find a dish to her/his liking. Was super yummy, we would come again :)

Its has lately became way too popular. Food is still good, but service is plainly super bad. We were waiting today for our food more then hour, as they just forgot it. Did they care - not too much. First waitress did not even say sorry. She just explained that they have so many visitors in Saturday monrning. After i promised this is our last visit - second waitress said sorry & offered free cake & coffee.

The tea was sooooo delicious!!! The dumplings are huge. This is new thing for me to put sauce on top of the dumpling but turns out it is delicious

We got the meat grenka and the duck grenka. The meat grenka is supposed to be cold, which I didn't know, but it was quite tasty. The serving was beautiful, decorated with berries. Still, they are quite uncomfortable to eat, so better use your hands... The duck grenka was very tasty, one of the best meals we tried. Since they serve it differently than the meat one, it is easier to eat. The berry sauce really adds to the entire meal. I would personally rate the meat grenka a 8/10 and the duck one an absolute 10. We also got the cherry grapefruit lemonade, it comes in a big glass and is a really refreshing combination. We got dessert too: the Napoleon and roasted plums with ice-cream. The napoleon was great, you can feel really well the layers of cream and dough. It also comes with ice-cream, cranberry jam and berries, so you can really try out different combinations with these things. Each bite tastes different. This really spiced up the cake, also the strawberries were so ripe and sweet, which is quite surprising and pleasant. The plums were also tasty, but nothing special, we expected them to be at least grilled in sugar or something. They felts just like warmed-up plums, not roasted. Price wise we spend more than 20€ per person, since we got dessert and drinks too. The atmosphere is nice in the cafe, it is very well color-coordinated in shades of blue. The decorations are also on-point and add to the vibe. What I would mention is that the tables are quite small and it is a bit uncomfortable to eat, I accidentally dropped my knive because it didn't fit properly on the table. When you sit at a table, you are served water with lemon, this helps the client feel more valued and it is helpful in general on a summer day. Overall, it is a really nice place to go to. We enjoyed our meals and I'd go again.

Cozy yet roomy place with great service. Awesome food at variety of choices for different eating habits aka diets. Deserts were also very tasty and had an out of the box thinking aspect to them.

The place was super crowded, that assured us that the food will be good. We had to wait in a que for 10 minutes or so. Then we got the place to sit, and we ordered orange juice and cappuccino. The juice was 4 euros for a small glass. But it was fresh which is good. Then we ordered mushroom omelette and guacamole salad. It was perfect. We loved it. And will definitely come back again. Highly recommend for breakfast 🍳 place.

Went for a quick bite and tried the chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes, it was pretty good. Their vegetables were fresh. Fair prices on their lunch menu 💯it was busy and some foods took longer but they warned us prior.

If anyone asked me about suggestions where to have an amazing breakfast or brunch in Tallinn, without hesitation I would suggest Grenka first. The food and service have been always perfect and what I like the most is the great value for money. Truly happy to have such an amazing cafe here.

It's a cozy place for a breakfast or just coffee with a desert. But the seating system is weird as you need to order and then sit, so if the empty seats are full by the time you finish ordering you can't sit.

Pretty good brunch options, however avocado toast seemed that it had about three avocados on it, I couldn’t reach the bread. I would use a nice sourdough instead

Went to Grenka for lunch, it has a nice interior. The food was great and for a good price, the staff friendly but most of them don’t really speak English. After lunch I wanted to try the cherry pie too, but it was all gone, probably delicious. There is a children’s playing corner too.

As recommended by a local. The dumplings and Grenka were delicious but not mind blowing. There’s a lunch/dinner special from 12pm and each dish is around 8-9 euros (the dumplings were €8).

Pretty good coffee with nice latte art. I am a coffee person and I can tell you that this is a good place for it. Grenka salmon was super good and filling The portions are good Using English here is somewhat limited though

A Very good and tasty brunch with friendly service. A big Omelette 6€ and coffee 2,5€. It seems to be very popular among local people. Easy to arrive with a tram. I Will Be Back!

It was really nice food the beef was well marinated and the bread was good. In case you don't know what grenka is its a bigger size tapas basically.

Wonderful place to sit down and enjoy a stunning breakfast freshly prepared. Excellent customer service, cozy environment with comfortable seating. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Very yummy food. We had the broth and pie, both of which seem really homemade and are full of flavour. Next 3 different grenkas and a salad; all very different, generous and good flavour combinations. Pavlova finished us off - shame we don’t live here. Would be regulars for sure. Service is good and friendly. Prices are a bargain for what you are getting. Decor reminds of a time in the past but is all in all very fitting. Comes recommended.

Food - good, tasty, nothing bad regarding the taste or portion size. Can get similar food with less $$ in other places. Service - really bad. Waited forever just to pay the bill, even if we politely reminded the waitress.

We had delicious cornmeal porridge, mushroom pie and good coffee. The crepes were also good but the only problem is that they call crepes pancakes in Estonia. And when you order pancakes they bring crepes😅

It seems tl be a very popular café/bistro. They have a lunch menu and some regulars. I found the food to be quite bland and the service was really slow.

Food is amazing. Service little bit less if you're english speaking but food is worth it. Order a grenka and enjoy 🤤

One of my favorite places in Tallinn. Food is made of quality produce and portions are generous. Recommend the Grenkas! Service is a bit quiet, but nice.

Everything you'd want from a hip and trendy breakfast cafe. Nice atmosphere, quite full of people. Nice relaxed background music that's not too loud. The red hair bartista was particularly nice and welcoming, it's nice to be greeted with a smile and given a table straight away when she didn't have to. The chai latte was huge and salmon cheese breakfast plate delicious and filling.

The portions are way too big for one person. The food is strangely composed (coat cheese with bread, whipped cream with bread baked in oil etc).

  • 5/5 Aleksandr B. 2 years ago on Google
Recommend the salmon or chicken grenka. The others aren't as tasty. Still good, but not as good

Nice dessert and tasty coffee made my day 🌷 This cozy cafe has variety of options either for breakfast or lunch. Every day the lunch option is different 👏🏽 Here you can find a peaceful atmosphere with quite jazz background music 🎶 Highly recommend to taste “Sõrnikud” here 👌

Best place for having breakfast. My favorite dish is eggs Benedict with crab and prawn cakes. That’s amazing! Everything we tried was very tasty and the dish size is very generous. My respect to the cook!

👍👍 Just Super! Extremely neat and clean atmosphere 👌. Self service, enter, pick the tray and the plate and choose food/drinks of your choice by going at dishes on different tables and the person will put selected food into your plate and then you pay at the counter for the selected food items/drink...
