What a gem of a place! We came here by our friend’s recommendation and were surprised by the authenticity and taste of every dish we’ve ordered. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We ordered duck dumplings and calf cheeks - the way the meat was prepared was outstanding. Chocolate truffles for dessert were a perfect finishing touch to a delicious dinner. Five star well deserved!

Very expensive, average food at best. We tried three different dishes. The steak was cold and bland. Also it was pre-cut, wth? Did I mention expensive? The risotto was not bad, a little cold and bland but it was ok. Overall it was not a good experience and for that price, I expected a lot more.

Overall superb experience! Fabulous and really tasty food. All the dishes (octopus, risotto, mussels) were tasty and didn’t leave you hungry. Wine selection was excellent and provided variety of options. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Their own beer was tasty too. Atmosphere in this cozy and homey place is extraordinary, small dining room provides unique feeling. Some nice small details like golden tiles in the washroom. A bit out of main streets and city center, but surely worth visiting. Reservations are highly recommended.

This restaurant always delivers. Aside from innovative recipes, beautiful plating and perfectly executed dishes, i really appreciate that SALT constantly updates and modifies their menu based on seasonal ingredients and the freshest produce available. The vibe and buzzing atmosphere of the restaurant is unique. However, the space is limited so booking in advance is recommended and many visitors might find the restaurant ‘cramped’. The service is attentive and friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. My favourite dishes were ✨tartare ✨octopus 🐙 ✨duck dumplings 🦆 The octopus was cooked to perfection, however slightly too salty for me. Overall we had a great dining experience and I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Good food for a reasonable price. Tables are quite close to each other and it’s a small restaurant so it can get a bit noisy but otherwise it was a perfect place for lunch!

Divine. One of my favorite places in Tallinn. Every year, it never disappoints. Innovative food, thoughtful flavors, deliciousness in every bite. The service is impeccable and the entire experience is superb. Always can’t wait to come back. Great for date night or for a night out with the family. Love every moment.

Hidden gem. Absolutely astonishing customer service, tiny and cozy place. If you look outside you would not guess that inside is that nice. Food is high-quality, tasty, fresh, colourful and carefully chosen quality wines. A worth of visit or two. Highly recommended.

Small, or even tiny place, very tasty food. It was rather busy even being slightly out of centre. Menu offering a few nice options

Super experience again. Always. A tad too shoulder feeling. A tad too compressed. But not enough to break the cozy feeling. Especially if old school mates are situated next to you 😎

We visited Salt on New Years eve and I can say that I've never been to a restaurant this atmospheric and authentic, and the food was some of the best I have eaten! In a space that's probably around 50m² they have a small open kitchen corner and the tiniest "bar" alongside the dining room's wall and space for about 50 guests. It's an intimate setting for sure - the tables are very near each other, but not uncomfortably so. Staff was smiling and attentive, and they seemingly had a good team together. Our waiter did a great job of recommending and introducing us dishes and pairing a matching wine with each one. I just wish that he could've said a bit more about them than just the country and grape, since their wine menu consists of wines from smaller, family-owned estates. I would've been interested to hear a few words about (even as a non-wine snob) what makes it special, why was it chosen to their restaurant. Food was delicious! Everything from the presentation to the taste was pure perfection. The creative flavor combinations worked very well together and brought an explosion of flavor on each bite. Seafood (oysters and squid) were fresh. I especially enjoyed my ox tail. Thank you, Salt folks 😊

Overall the food was ok. I had made a reservation for 7 pm and was early by a couple of minutes (5-7 minutes). However, my table was not cleared up. Most establishments ensure that when a table is reserved, at least 10 minutes prior to the reservation, the table is cleared up. The place is overall very small and gets super crowded during peak hours. An absolutely horrendous place to have a date or even business meetings during weekdays. The biggest gripe I have is ultimately with the general ambience and quality of the service especially if you are charging your patrons these amounts.

Look for shelter from the snow. From the cold before you forego. Enter one cosy wooden door, Just as Alice Peak inside, implore. Since this place will enchant you, Grab your soul and heart, too. The people laugh, live and laugh, Enjoy Salt and forget the past. The menu serves not less of amazing, Might even contain a dish still blazing. And I don't know what to get, It me and menu tete-a-tete. I am compelled by the menu and venue. And with the first taste, I fall in love, This must be a dream where I've found my heart. What an amazing experience. Truly passionate people and food. I had just the lunch offer, but it was so unique.. amazing.

A tiny corner restaurant in his petit ness we found ourselves in scene sitting very close to fellowmen, we were looking for oysters… and we found. We tried all styles they had and for oyster obsessions better is the one without any sauce or smashed ice on top of them but separate… i must say were nice welcome even on the phone so were were excited to be arriving not knowing anything about the place … reservation recommended

Interesting menu, great food and service. The place itself is quite small so may get crowded.

Had a pretty good dinner. Did a tasting menu, food choices were solid but waitstaff did nothing to explain the dishes in narrate the experience. Then, while I'm waiting to pay...I watch the male cook in the open kitchen taste a sauce with the same spoon he was using to stir and serve it...twice. During COVID.

We really enjoyed our dinner at salt restaurant. Starter, main course and dessert was delicious. I would like to emphasize the childfriendliness with which we were served. We got a plate of pasta with cheese and butter served together with the starters.

We had a nice dinner at the restaurant. The inside was full so had to sit outside but luckily the weather was good. We liked the experimental, daring menu. Dishes were executed well, tasted as beautiful as they were presented. However, we felt that they lack certain highlight or a signature that made any of the dishes stand out. We liked the foods as they are, but not sure if they made us curious and satisfied enough to come back. We hope that being creative or innovative is accompanied by making simply heartful, wholesome foods.

Excellent food and wine. The stuff was really friendly and polite. Culinary experience that makes me want to go back to Estonia just to eat there again.

My wife and I had an excellent experience on New Year's Eve at this restaurant. Quality throughout: service, food and wine pairings. We left it up to the waiter to select glasses of wine that would fit the meals, fortunately. He nailed it. Standout dish (in a 3-course meal of standout dishes) was the local freshwater fish. We are happy to come back another time. Or five.

Had an amazing meal here. When we arrived the place was packed, however I had made a reservation. Unfortunately they were too full at the moment but the staff handled the situation incredibly well. They offered us drinks and said we could wait for 10-15 minutes and they would have a table for us. We chose to give everyone some breathing room and wait outside. After 15 minutes out table was ready just as they had said it would be. The food was outstanding. The tofu bowl was bursting with unique flavors. Each item brought its own uniqueness leading to a perfect plate. The eggplant was the star and the tofu had this beautiful sweetness to it. The coconut calamari was perfectly crisp and the carbonara sauce added great depth to the plate. The duck dumplings were delicious. Served in an addictive harissa honey sauce. Finally the New York cheesecake was the perfect end to the meal. Delicious, dense and tart with a strawberry sauce. The food was all fresh, delicious and expertly prepared. The staff was a level of attentive I have not witnessed since moving away from the US. We greatly enjoyed our experience here and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended.

Veey good fresh food. Oysters octupus was cooked to perfection. Champagne was also lovely to sip in sunshine.

Expected good cooking and service, but unfortunately left disappointed - few different niggles but the biggest issue was the Thai style mussels main dish on which literally half the mussels were closed. I pointed this out to the waiter and after a long wait was presented with a bill with the price of the dish reduced to half. Says a lot in my opinion that the kitchen were happy to send this dish out in the first place - personally I would have been (and am) worried about to quality of the mussels/seafood on offer. Plenty of other good eateries nearby that do a better job in my opinion.

Wow, I must say what a taste sensation! We just randomly popped into this restaurant on the way from lights festival in Kadriorg. Starting from entering the restaurant and throughout the whole experience - it was amazing. Our server was attentive, genuine and lovely. He was very knowledgable about the menu, asked if we needed an explanation about the menu, suggested the dishes and I could go on on about him. (such a shame I can't remember his name). Every step of service was well tailored by him (every dish that needed a 'special care' (cutlery etc) - our server was just on the top of it. In terms of food, we had oysters, tuna poke, Japanese okonomiyaki omelette , tiger prawns in kataifi, grilled octopus, Argentina style steak - every single dish was so special and different from each other. Big complements to the chef! This place is a must ago if you want to surprise your taste palette! I felt so bad I did not have any cash on me to leave the tips to the server as he was superb! Very very great experience from start to finish!

Cozy place, awesome food, friendly service. We took Padrone pepper, Crispy frog legs, Spicy tigerprawns for starters and Beef tenderloin with Mexican escabechado, Black cod Indonesian style and Grilled octopus. Everything was super tasty. Bit crowded even on workdays, thus table reservation better to do in advance.
