I had expected when making our reservation that we were going to have a positive dining experience. The only positive experience we had was making the reservation earlier that day. From our first interaction, our waiter made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Although there were casually dressed diners, he seemed put-off that we would keep a jacket with us. He then dropped off the menus without any discussion or recommendations. He did not return for 20 minutes, and then he simply said “are you ready”. In hindsight we should have left at that point. We were left honestly wondering if we had managed to offend him somehow. We ordered wine, water and fish. It was an awkward conversation asking about red wine recommendations and being told we should order white. We both understand that red wine often overpowers the taste of fish — we simply prefer red anyway. Another 20 minutes, no water, no wine. And then our entrees arrive. We asked when our wine and water might arrive and made a change to a different drink (thinking this might simplify things), but it seemed to make matters worse. Our waiter comes back a few minutes later with the wine we ordered 25 minutes ago. The presentation with the fish was excellent, the portion left you hungry and was not inline with a main dish. The taste was average, not bad but not great. I had expected better. At this point ordering anything more was out of the question. Our waiter continued to ignore us and I finally went to the bar to pay and leave. I give two stars because once I brought this up to the owner he seemed to genuinely care about our negative experience. At the same time, this is a small restaurant and our negative experience should have been noticed by the owner or manager and fixed prior to us leaving.

Was waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes for food. Had to ask waiter why so (they never came to give any updates). They apologized they did some mistake and food wasn't prepared, and offered free food for compensation. Food itself was delicious.

We had an incredible experience at Cru while visiting Tallinn! The cozy ambience in the city centre set the perfect tone. We opted for the 5-course tasting menu and were blown away by the colorful and beautifully presented dishes. The Beef tartare starter, fresh Perch seviche, and amazing creamy pumpkin soup with goat cheese were standout moments. The Beef steak pichania for the main was a great choice, offering fantastic taste. We highly recommend Cru for a memorable dining experience!

We had a lovely dinner at the cru. We had the herring as a starter and duck and elk as a main dish. Food was excellent, maybe a bit pricey for Tallinn but worth it. It was really busy so we waited for a little while. Nevertheless I definitely recommend coming here.

The best restaurant, food and service I’ve had on my trip to Tallin! Originally I had dinner in another restaurant (overpriced place with snobby service). I had such a terrible experience that had to leave upset AND hungry! Luckily, Cru was 3 mins away. I got greeted by a lovely beautiful Getter and my night and stomach were saved! The food and drinks were so phenomenal! This is a true local gem! After finding this place, I did not want to take my chances and go anywhere else. Plus, I just had to try the whole menu ;) This was my go to for the next three nights in Tallin. The chef’s exceeded my expectations every single time. Bravo Mark Keerd and the team! I highly recommend this place. Michelin star experience on a budget. Can’t wait to go back and try the new menu!

A great experience! The food was fantastic, the service very attentive and caring in a very pleasant way. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Tallinn.

A somewhat high-end restaurant with pretty small portions. Customer service was friendly but for me too active, our waitress visited our table too often. We waited pretty long for the food even though the place was almost empty. I had delicious tortellinis as a starter but my main was disappointing. Fish was nice but I did not enjoy the pea hummus against all my expectations. My boyfriend loved his food a lot though (loin of elk).

Atmosphere was nice however, the food wasn’t up to its standards. We ate the menu, pate dish came with burned toast, the taste of burnt was overwhelming. The liver dish had too much sweet in it. Main dish (the steak) was average, lacking seasoning. Dessert was confusing, it was suppose to be a cheese cake but instead it was an ice cream with cucumbers. I would say the menu is very creative, but all these different ingredients are not complementing each other.

CRU - what an amazing experience! Very cozy restaurant in an excellent location straight in the Old Town! The food was absolutely delicious and it was reasonably priced, all the main dishes were super good that we tasted. And also, we had "õpilane"/trainee serving our table and the service was top-notch. 10/10 experience

Given its ambition as one of the better restaurants in town this was a disappointment. The meat was chewy, the service was bad, they didnt have one of our orders. If you want fine dining in Tallinn this should be your last pick.

Delicious food that's reasonably priced for a posh restaurant. They do provide a complimentary coat check, but table service was only good, not exceptional. Nonetheless, we were just happy to score the last open table for two that they had for the evening. I do recommend this restaurant to others but would strongly suggest making a booking to ensure that you get a table. I hope readers will find my review and photos helpful.

I think this restaurant is one of the best restaurant in Tallinn, Estonia. The dishes were unique and really delicious. The hospitality of the staff was nice. The room and the rest room were really clean. If you would like to invite someone who are important for you, I recommend you this restaurant. Have a cool lunch or adorable dinner. You can try this restaurant with reasonable price during the Tallinn Restaurant Week!

Absolutely delicious. The food tasted as delicious as it looks. Very nice restaurant room and very kind service. The creamy quail broth with herbs and quail leg was very delicate. The roasted duck was very crisp on the outside, very well spiced and red wine sauce with vegetables and a super smooth mash (i think it was carrot or pumpkin?) were nice companions. We also tried the elk which was smooth as butter, super juicy and somehow just slightly dry, as you would expect by venison, as well, but in a good way! Tasted very balanced and was very delicious. All in all a very good restaurant!

We had an amazing experience at Restoran CRU. Every dish is full of aromas, each ingredient is carefully chosen and goes wonderfully with the other components of the plate. Fine dining at its best! Congratulations to the chef!

Food was delicious, excellent service, looks and tastes good. But Coffee was bad. Bitter and with slightly warm milk. Also Toilets are narrow and artificial smell of refreshment is too strong.

We were six persons just eaten lunch/dinner there. The drinks came quite fast and they look so nice and the taste was also great 👍 The food were excellent taste, but portion is small, so there were space for dessert. My kids get pasta and they said it was too much cheese 🧀 so they didn't eat them so much. There are not much selection for gluten free or vegan's choices, so a bit minus ➖ The place look nice and service was friendly 🙂

Very nice restaurant. Good atmosphere. The entrance might not be that inviting but it is a great place. It's not the cheapest around, but expect great food ... and there is a price for quality. We had a good time and enjoyed our meal. Very nice menu. Good wine selection. And great service. Highly recommended. Will certainly visit again.

What a pleasant experience !! We got a lovely service and waitress, smiling and explaining us every dish we were getting. The dish themselves were very tasty (got the duck myself which very well done), and they have a very decent selection of wines. The price is a bit above the average in Tallinn but definitely worth the price. Definitely a place to stop for a nice evening dinner !

Overall service was good, but for sure it's not worth the price: if you have starters at 18€ you should probably get rid of cheap paper napkins! Somehow disappointed by the food. The cheesecake was hard to eat with a spoon; the zucchini plate was flavourless and badly presented (3 big chunks of boiled zucchini, then somehow roasted..); the duck was a good plate.

Absolutely amazing food and service! We had a 5 course tasting menu and it blew our minds. It consisted of 5 excellently curated dishes with a seasonal twist. The service was superb, and we had an honour to be served by Aleksandr. Friendly, calm and professional approach. He definitely understands the meaning of amazing customer service. I'd recommend this great venue for everyone who cares about great food, service and atmosphere.

A nice meal unfortunately ruined by a raw fish. We waited 45 minutes for a new dish to be brought out by which point all other food had been eaten. When we asked for this to be removed from the bill we were told no, which feels like it detracted from the experience. Everything else fine.

Lovely, delicious dinner and cocktails. Great service. This passionfruit drink was a delight and the risotto was perfection. Completely agree with the Michelin recommendation.

I thought Cru was disappointing. I had the risotto and it was so dry. I’m not a good cook, but my risotto is way better! Ceviche was OK. Best part was the fabulous bread for the table, which is sad!

Really delicious sophisticated food, carefully prepared with interesting flavour combinations. I had a glass of the house red which was a very good Primativo and the service was quiet and courteous. For the high quality of the food, the price was very reasonable

Nice restorant with perfect staff and menu, cocktails and wine were superb. The only minus - bad odor coming sometimes from underground canalization.

The best culinary experience I’ve had in the whole of the Baltics. In a cozy alleyway in the very heart of Tallinn lies this hidden gem of a restaurant. As a foodie, I researched the Tallinn food scene before going, so my expectations for this place were quite high. But they were very much exceeded. The food was amazing – exquisite taste combinations, generous portion sizes and a cozy ambiance made for a fantastic experience. Add in the impeccable and attentive service, and this restaurant deserves a 5-star rating in the technical absence of a sixth star, which I would give without hesitation any time.

Great service! The starter was really good although the portion was quite small. The main was a decent size but I don’t think this was a tiger shrimp and I’ve had better shrimp pasta for less in other restaurants. The dessert was really good. Overall, I’d visit again!

Great service but food was not properly cooked even on the second attempt. Dishes were bland and cold. Also got an incredible food poisoning. At this price point it's a hard pass

Lady in front of us asked to keep her coat, she was allowed. We asked also b/c our kids were cold & we had lots of personal things. Were told it was restaurant policy & we MUST….that was rude so we left.
