The Palace was built in 1718 for Czar Peter the Great in Italian Baroque villa style and so is suitably fine. The ornate Great Hall ceiling is especially striking. There are headsets to use while going through the rooms. There is a room filled with statuary. Three of them have fake insects adhered to them. Why wasn't clear to me at all.

First of all, I think that this Palace was an amazing discovery here closer to Tallinn. We arrived quickly by bus. It was built by Peter the Great of Russia for his wife, the future Catherine I of Russia. It's an attractive palace and houses a museum of Art (during USSR period, this was dedicated as art museum of Estonia, as I understand) . The park around is also simple and nice and this is its centerpiece. The inside is also impressing with amazingly stunning rooms, but it would not compare much to, say, the Hermitage in Amsterdam or the famous Versailles from Paris There are present works from the Russian avant garde that are original and also one of the rarest portraits of Peter the Great. Don't hesitate to visit this Palace, you won't regret!! Also be careful that on Monday is closed.

Summer palace built by Peter the Great and designed with Italian flair. The palace is decorated by a large collection of paintings from different artists from all over the Europe. The gardens are lovely especially in the summer. The entrance fee is 9 Euro for the palace and you can pay more if you wish to visit the other museums in the area.

For those who admire fine art Kadriorg Art Museum is a definite must-visit. It is located in a baroque palace commissioned by Peter the Great as a present for his wife Catherine. The palace is surrounded by a beautiful park, which is worth taking a stroll in throughout the year.

Beautiful artwork, sculptures and different vases. $9euro for entry and there are three floors to visit. The exterior has such a beautiful garden and fountains with a large sculpture towards the middle. There are a lot of trails surrounding the property for walking in nature. This place is beautiful!

Visited the place in the late afternoon, and I could only enjoy the lark and the views of the palace. Still, the whole neighbourhood and the park are just beautiful.

Beautiful palace constructed under the direction of Peter the Great for him and his wife, who was originally a servant girl, as a holiday residence. The palace itself is not an art museum with beautiful tranquil gardens. Great place for a walk about especially in good weather. Must visit area in Tallinn!

Amazing garden, with beautiful, colorful flowers. Unfortunately, we visited late in the afternoon and the building was closed. However, we were compensated by the tranquility and the design of the garden.

Lovely place walk this season. You can take tram #1 or 3 going to Kadriorg. Would even be lovelier in summer.

Beautiful palace!! The entrance fee for students was reasonable and a lot to see. The temporary exhibition though does not fit the palace at all.

There was a guy tuning the piano when we were there. Very annoying for guests. Like torture. Weird they couldn't do that before opening hours. The park is enough, the museum is not worth it. A lot of boring portraits, the architecture is cool though.

The exhibitions aren't as big as you might think when you look at the palace from the outside but is still well worth the visit. Some of the stuff were a bit rude and had some trouble with speaking English but the stuff upstairs in the exhibitions was very friendly and helpful... The art collection in the halls is indeed very interesting and luxurious!

Unique interior and a magnificent building. The main hall boasts great acoustics due to its lofty ceiling. Beautiful and educational statues on antique themes adorn the space. I had the privilege of attending a performance that blended classical and folk music. The classical pieces, played on flute, piano, and cello, coincided with Beethoven's Epiphany on December 17th. Additionally, the Liszt Institute in Tallinn invited a skillful Hungarian musician who masterfully presented Hungary's traditional woodwind instruments.

Beautiful museum if you like the style. There weren’t many visitors when I was there so no need to purchase a ticket in advance. Afterwards, you can go to the museum café and enjoy a coffee or walk in the park that is located around the buildings.

Getting here was quite the adventure for someone who isn't used to taking the tram. But I made it. I visited the museum at the end of my day and I think, because of that, I didn't get to enjoy it as much. I was tired and kinda walked through without paying too much attention. The building is absolutely gorgeous!! Bright red in the white snow. Even the inside is something to admire. The art is all by Russian and other Central/Eastern European painters/artists. It's all very similar to the art you can see in London and Madrid and Bordeaux, yet it features people I don't know at all. The history about the palace was interesting and that was really what I came for. If I ever come back, I hope to have a bit more time.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to enter to the museum however the gardens are beautiful and there is a park nearby perfect for picnic or just to walk around.

Beautiful palace and garden. Inside is a Art exhibition... Outside (castle parc) you need not to pay a entrance fee.

I was blown away by the incredible collection of art on display. The museum is located in a beautiful palace, which added to the overall experience. I highly recommend a visit to the Kadriorg Art Museum to anyone interested in art or the history of Estonia. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

It's a nice but small museum with some interesting pieces. More than the art, the main hall of the palace is the one which is the most eye catching.

  • 5/5 Yana H. 11 months ago on Google
I really enjoyed the museum! The art collection is decent (well, we aren't in Italy, obviously, but everyone will find something for the soul here), and well organised by regions. The combined ticket for 5 museum (Kadriorg, KUMU, Mikkel, Niguliste, Adamson-Eric) costs 36 euro, which is a really good deal because you have a whole year to visit each one of the museums! We bought tickets at Kumu.

A very beautiful palace, some rooms are simply stunning. Very well-maintained, the garden as well. Lovely helpful staff, a delightful collection of Russian art - some really big names there. The exhibition on Flemish art is extremely well done - and the explanatory notes are quite entertaining!

A beautiful, colourful palace in the heart of Kadriorg park, which hosts a small but very interesting art museum. It is a 10-15min bus ride from the city centre and the entry is free with the Tallinn city card. It really worths a visit. So, don't miss it!

This castle is just so amazingly beautiful, I wish I could live there myself 😁 So even if the couple of centuries old paintings don't excite you all that much, just the interior is totally worth the visit. Now and then there are also concerts and other performances organised in the main hall. My personal favourites are silverware pieces, can't admire enough the masterful artwork done with these items.

It’s fun place to visit. Ticket is just eight euros. Unfortunately museum workers are not friendly or can answer questions. Old ladies just told us to read leaflets. It was really sad to see library filled with pots and silverware. Looks like Estonian people value more stuff than knowledge.

Baroque palace and art museum at the same time. Not as big as expected initially, but anyway it has a lot of nice exhibitions inside. Many classical and baroque concerts are served here.

20min is enough to walk around the museum. Not much to see for the price. If you get used to visit beautiful castle in Europe just pass your way.

In 2000 this palace was re-opened as the Kadriorg art Museum, which displays big collection of art. You can see there Western European and Russian art. Tram number 3 from city center, stops very near the museum. I liked it 😍

Located about 3 kilometers from the Old Town of Tallinn, the Kadriorg Palace also houses a park with the same name, and is a Baroque-style building that Pietro Il Grande had built for his wife. His aim was to obtain a summer residence that resembled the Palace of Versailles. It was very impressive to visit it in the snow. Kadriorg Park is endowed with numerous trees of considerable size, including oaks and horse chestnuts. For tourists and local citizens who want to relax, it is the ideal place, so much so that it is considered a real natural oasis.
