Don’t miss the self guided tour of the icebreaker in the Marina—check with the ticket office because it seems you don’t have to have a ticket to get on board the ship. The museum building itself is immense.

One of the best experiences you’ll have in all Europe. Interactive exhibits, submarines and clothing stations to dress as a sailor and take your pictures. Outside in the harbour, you get to see an old war ship

Super interesting museum for everyone. Impressive old submarine and maritime objects inside, and the chance to explore an old icebreaker ship and a military ship outside. It also has interactive fun content for younger visitors: flight simulator, green screen with sailor clothes, remote controlled boats etc. 8€ ticket for students.

One of a kind museum experience. It’s always enjoyable to find museums built into historic buildings like this old seaplane hangar that almost collapsed from neglect. My favorite exhibit was the Juminda mine exhibit. It was a story I knew none of and to learn it in the structured exhibit that takes you on a journey of pain, personal stories, and in depth knowledge of mines and military was a moving experience.

One of the best museums I’ve been to! For English speakers, every sign or interactive piece had English translation! Very well kept, everything was very clean and well maintained. One of the most interactive museums too! Lost to see and do, we spent almost an entire day exploring this very vast museum. Go inside a submarine, play simulators to for lifeguards, go inside a two large ships (outside), tour the two floors inside, RC mini boats on water. Truly amazing! Learnt so much about Estonia and it’s capitals history in naval and aviation. World war is covered in great detail. For those with a keen interest in the history.

This Seaplane Hangar now turned into a naval museum was built in 1916 as part of the sea fortress system protecting Saint Petersburg. This building is one of the most significant engineering and technical accomplishments of the 20th century, due to its massive domes and no supporting pillars. The museum has on display many interesting naval hardware from boats, a seaplane, estonian navy information, artillery pieces and even a real submarine - the Lembit. On the harbour area, there are many vessels that can be observed and even visited. One of the best naval museums to visit in Europe!

Absolutely great museum! You can go into an old WW2 submarine and on a number of ships outside. Do allow for at least 3 hours to properly see everything, the museum is packed with interesting things. It also has a lot of activities for children and teens, including a flight simulator!

Loved it, the chance to get into a submarine, can't say you wouldn't go in if given the chance. You can spend one entire day there. Very cool stuff.

Bought Tallin Card, so this museum was included. I recommend around 2 to 3 hours to watch all the ships and exhibitions properly. Could be done in 2 hours but in a rush. Good informative exhibitions (All in English), interesting ships in exhibitions outside. Totally recommended.

Really interesting museum! Loved it. Has unique boats and the submarine. The information is quite interesting with the history of the museum and the 3 parts that compose the museum. Recommend. Don't miss the boats outside

Doesn’t disappoint, whether you are interested in boats or not. The building is a huge concrete dome, that used to be a seaplane harbor. The museum, which is a big open space, is pleasant to walk through. There is space, a lot to see and overall the navigation is easy. My favorite part was the visit of the submarine, impressive and unusual. Collections contains: unusual boats, cannons for coastlines/boats, seaplane replicas, boats models etc. There are also boats to see in the port next to the museum.

A beautiful maritime museum, not to be missed if you want to learn about the Estonian naval history and see it with your own eyes. From multiple maritime warfare equipment, a full size second word war submarine that can be visited, to many digital interactive setups. You will not regret the trip. An easy walk from the old city.

This is a very well designed museum in the marine field. If you are interested in ships, sub-marine and marine life, you must visit there. In this museum you can visit the inside of some real ships and submarine. During your visit , I guarantee you that you will not be bored.

Seaplane Harbour has a Wonderful and Informative Display of History. Our relaxing walk 1.7klm from Old Town, seeing Harbour Sites as well. Just Reserch the Days and Opening Times. Cheers. Wayne & Tracey.

Wow! This was a wonderful afternoon and I learned so much! Everything is so well presented, so engaging and really accessible to a whole range of visitors. I would happily have stayed longer. Honestly...The maritime museums are the best! I would also like to say thanks to the staff who are very professional and really helpful.

Fantastic museum in an amazing concrete gridshell building. Lots of AV to enhance the exhibits. The only criticism from our party was that there was only one seaplane, and they wanted (expected) more at a seaplane harbour! Perhaps the 'fly a biplane ' could be 'fly a Seaplane!' ;)

I have been there 3,5 hours and I think I could be there all day 😍 Bus number 73 has stop very near (Lennusadam stop) , what is good is the fact, this bus go thru city center, so it is very easy to find. You can try, play, teach.. This museum is for children, adults and older people too, everyone can enjoy it. 😍😍😍

Amazing maritime museum in an even more amazing building. Several very interesting historical exhibitions and the ability to tour and old submarine and an antique ice breaker ship. This is totally a worthwhile museum with plenty to see and do for everyone of all ages.

An excellent museum, so much to see, read and many interactive displays. Really enjoyed exploring the submarine and some of the computer games. The cafe was also very reasonable prices and very tasty food and coffee.

It must be my best memories in Tallinn. The history and development of the boats, submarines and all things related with Estonia history really made my day. The ticket is well worthy and I had so much fun there. Highly recommend ❤️

Very nice permanent exhibition. The best part is the submarine and ice breaker interiors. The submarine is a must, as it is a relic of Estonia’s past. The museum is also full of interactive parts of the exhibition, making it excellent for children to go.

Interesting museum with a lot of interactive elements. You can go inside a real life submarine (obviously NOT while it's underwater) and learn about different modes of transport that have been used in the region: from proto-viking boats to ice-sailboats! I missed a more cohesive timeline of the evolution of the modes of transport in the sea, and some of the interactive games were not working properly. Otherwise, a very solid museum with loads to learn from!

One of the best and most interactive museums I have been to in a long time. It is so well thought out and organized. The bottom level has a lot of things visitors can interact with. I learned so much here I bought my ticket at a digital kiosk as soon as I walked in! So easy! Highly recommend

Impressive museum! Interactive games for kids ( flight simulator, drive Kris Kraft and boats) A real submarine to visit and get all the excitement!

  • 5/5 Stewart M. 6 months ago on Google
Fascinating, so much to explore - take your time and soak it in. Audio guide not essential, but be warned that there will be school groups and the shape of the building will make the noise echo. If you time your visit well, you'll escape that and be able to roam almost freely.

This was a wonderful place for children and adults. Lots of things to explore, enjoy, experiment with. We planned to spend 2 hours there, but ended up staying for 4 hours. And still there were things that wwere left unexplored. We will return!

Excellent museum, featuring a submarine from the 1930s that you can walk around in. There are many good interactive exhibits, including a flight simulator in a fake plane (the plane moves while you pilot it, everyone enjoyed that.) Unfortunately, several of the interactive exhibits were broken, but enough were still working that this museum deserves five stars - it was our favorite of the trip. I hope the museum gets on top of the maintenance before anything else breaks!

This museum is just WOAW is amazing, you can visit a real sub-marin, there is many simulators such as plane or boat simulators and many interesting thing to see and to do ! if i can give you just one advise, you should take only the inside part ticket, if you take the outside part as well, you should know that most of the boats that you can visit are FREE, the optional cost that you will pay is only for two additional boat, so be sure before buying your ticket that you particularly want visit these 2 boats

Cool place with many interactive objects and entertaining learning for children, and not only. Largest attraction, for sure, getting on authentic submarine board, but there are several ships located outside open for visitors. Great interior and for sure, great experience!

This is a very cool museum complete with a large variety of full sized sea vessels and parts. The interior museum has a modern design and the addition of interactive displays that can send more information to your email via key card and touch screen kiosks. You can climb aboard a submarine or ice breaker. The current addition of the new Viking exhibit alone is worth the price of admission.

Museum located in a seaplane harbour. Inside you can see various exibitions, some of them are interactive witch does it attractive for children. However, for me the bigest impression was guns, seaplanes and submarine. You can look at it from outside and even go inside. Also there are several ships outside which can be visited as well. Recommend to spend at least 2-3 hours.

An interesting collection of militaria, in a unique building. The interior is inexplicably dark, making photography difficult, but it has a great underwater feel.

Gorgeous building and really interesting museum with a lot of interactive exhibits and unique maritime artifacts. Being able to go inside of the Russian submarine was a really interesting, unexpected plus. Tickets are 15€ per person without the Tallinn card, but are worth it even full-price. There’s also a restaurant/cafe inside and another steamship behind the building you are able to tour with the same ticket. The airplane hangar itself is stunning.

Really interesting museum, a must when in Tallinn. The Lembit submarine is the highlight,in my opinion, you can go inside it and the experience is really cool. Other interesting information and objects, interactive galleries and useful information on the maritime history of Estonia. WATCH OUT on the STAIRS, the lightning in dark and 2people fell in front of me during our visit. The museum should properly light the stairs.

This is a real gem! Whether you have a family with kids or you want to feel like a kid again, If you are visiting Tallinn and you have few hours available go for it! You will see sea vessels from small boats until huge submarine and boats that you can explore, you can drive airplanes and boats and you can learn various things! 30 euro for a family is a logical price for what you will receive. There is a combined ticket for more museums if interested ask for it! Highly recommended activity!

Yes, there was lines, and yes some of the attractions didn't work yet. But have you people ever been in Disneyland? You might need to stand in...
