This is the kinda European medieval fairytale town you always read about and see in movies. I'm not sure how it looks in summer but to get the authentic feel, you have to brave the nordic biting chill and visit in winter. Can't recommend it enough.

It is an impressive medieval town hall, and the surrounding streets are equally captivating. The Tallinn Old Town is proudly included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Nice old town main square. The old town hall dates back from the medieval times (c. 1404 in its current form), though substantial renovation has clearly taken place as all old buildings. Definitely worth a visit.

There has been a town hall in Tallinn since at least 1322 and a town square next to it ever since then. The hall was rebuilt from 1402 to 1404 into its current form, and a Christmas tree display has been held in the square since 1441, making the Tallinn Christmas tree display over 580 years old

A checkmark place to visit during your stay in Tallin Estonia. Tallin old town has a lot to see and while this town square doesn’t necessarily standout against other town squares it is still worth seeing if you are already here. This is especially true given the number of shops nearby.

Tallin square is a picturesque place. Plenty of restaurants ,bars ,souvenir shops and antique shops etc. The oldest pharmacy in the Europe is located in the corner of the square. Another icon is the Town hall. Don’t forget to visit the drakun bar which is located in the town hall. The square’s evening vibe is unforgettable.

Went during Christmas period, for the famous Christmas market! Truly magical at night time! The square is extremely clean, bright and well maintained. Unlike other cities the square felt safe and comfortable to be around at night and in the day without worry.

Great place to eat in the summer, we loved it and the price is fair. The front and left side of the square offer the best variety in food.

Beautiful Town Hall Square. I arrived just on time to see the Christmas Market in all its greatness: traditional Estonian clothes, nice and warm chocolate, the famous, intense glögg, live shows and fantastic people. This is one of the experiences of Estonia that you cannot miss if you ever come to the Capital. I got particularly impressed by the mix of languages. For instance, to begin with, you'll definitely hear Eesti, but then you'll recognise Suomi, of course. We can hear Russian, as well (and English, mostly because of tourists). All this languages and the nice smells get mixed in the "plats". Just outstanding.

Lovely square, plenty to see and learn about in the area. Plenty of food and beer outlets. Great place to start exploring Tallinn. Can get busy!

The gently sloping Town Hall Square is undoubtedly one of the best things to see when visiting Tallinn. The square lies in the heart of the Old Town and has, for centuries, served as a marketplace. The cobblestone square is surrounded by an ensemble of pastel-coloured medieval houses. Being one of Tallinn’s marquee attractions, the square has become a trademark of both the city and Estonia as a whole, featuring on countless souvenirs and tourist posters. One of the most august buildings lining the Town Hall Square is the Town Hall Pharmacy, famed for being one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe. The building’s exterior dates to the 17th century, but there is evidence that a pharmacy existed on the site as long back as the early 15th century.

Simply a world class plaza worthy to stand alongside all the other great world cities I’ve visited. Stunning architecture and ambience with copious amounts of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful main square of Tallinn. You have the town hall in the middle, with the beautiful tower. There are usually some people dressed up with medieval attires in case you fancy taking a picture with them. Also, it is common that street musicians bless you with live music. Just one minute away from the iconic restaurant Olde Hansa.

Nice Christmas Market! Liked the lights and decorations.

Not the most impressive medieval city square in Europe but pretty nonetheless. As per usual with these places they're like a mall now so plenty of restaurants, cafes etc line up the square, more overpriced compared to the standard in Tallinn. It's nice to visit around Christmas and the New year's if you can stand the cold and the humidity

Around the corner from the famous Christmas Market, the stalls extend down along the City Walls. If you’re going to visit Tallinn, might I humbly suggest you do so BEFORE Czar Putin reabsorbs it back into a New (and improved?) Soviet Union? The Estonians are watching the war in Ukraine with premonitionary dread.

It used to be the best Christmas market in whole Europe but because of Covid-19 now it's not even at the half level which it used to be. But still it was worth visiting even in -10°C. ;)
