The most amazing thing about tgis place is that there is no stuff or any sign of security - you are free on your own

If you're ever in Tallinn, pop along to these Pirita Abbey ruins. About a 30-minute stroll up the coast. It's definitely worth the walk. A very tranquil space. There's also a harbour and beach just the other side of the road!

The ruins of the convent here have drawn me back every time I've visited Tallinn. A short bus ride from the city center, the ruins are well-documented and the foundations are preserved. The place is very old and it's amazing that anything is left standing at all, honestly. It's not necessarily a long visit to see the place but you can enjoy the serenity of the location for longer than it takes to read the plaques.

Amazing Convent ruins just in the way between Tallinn and Viimsi. With the sunset light it has a perfect atmosphere and the place gets magical. Very beautiful to see also from the river in summer time if you take a SUP and paddle up. During winter the riven is frozen and gives a totally different aspect.

Scenic and well-preserved ruins of an old cloister, not much in terms of any attractions apart from the view. Entrance fee is 2 EUR, which would be well-warranted for anyone interested in medieval architecture, but likely a waste of money for everyone else. Note that the cloister is just a few minutes drive from the centre of Tallinn, so it's something to do if you're visiting and have some time to spare.

I recently visited the Pirita Convent Ruins in Tallinn, Estonia and was thoroughly impressed by the rich history and beauty of the site. The ruins are well preserved and provide a fascinating glimpse into the past. One of the standout features of the convent ruins is the stunning architecture. The ruins of the church and monastery are breathtaking, with intricate details and beautiful stone work. It's easy to imagine what the convent must have looked like in its prime, and the ruins give a sense of the grandeur and importance of the site. In addition to the architectural beauty of the convent, I was also struck by the rich history of the site. The convent was founded in the 15th century and played an important role in the spiritual and cultural life of Estonia. As I wandered through the ruins, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the stories and events that must have taken place within these walls. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Pirita Convent Ruins to anyone interested in history or architecture. It's a truly unique and special place that should not be missed.

There was no one there when I went and everything was exceptionally beautiful. There is a ticket machine at the gate and you can only pay by card.

Visited on a winter day, we were the only ones there. You buy the tickets on the entrance from a screen, it costs 2€. Spent a peaceful time exploring the ruins.

Unfortunately it is closed due to renovations, but it is worth the visit if you are in the area nonetheless.

This was for me personally the biggest surprise and highlight of Tallinn. The ruins are awe-inspiring and you can take a nice walk through the forest from there to the TV tower. Just don’t take scooters like we did as they stop working in the middle of the forest and you cannot even return them there.

Only view from outside because that ticketbox could not connect to the bank! 2 days later the ticketbox workt. So we could Se the old ruins.
