Stumbled into this "Ukraina Eestis Kirik" by chance. Weird ensemble of things. Interesting architecture inside (there's a basement too). Has a peaceful atmosphere to it.

We love this peaceful and very nicely restored greek-catholic church. This Christian religion follows byzantin rites but is in full communion with the Latin church (the Pope in Rome being the head). The iconostasis (wall with icons separating the front part of the church) is really beautiful. The building of this tiny church dates back from the 14th century, it was first an Oleviste Church Pastorate, some hundred years later, it was privately owned. After 1945, during soviet times it was used as a storage. In 1994 it was given back to Estonian Lutheran church. Then, in 1997, it was rented to the Ukrainian Greek-catholic church, which bought it in 1998 and restored it. This church is not always open. We have been lucky, because there is an old man who looks after the church and when he is there, the church is open, and he will tell you about its history.

Gorgeous little gem hidden in the Old Town of Tallinn, where you can meet a small Ukrainian community based in Estonia. You have to be lucky for it to be open though.

Didn’t have a chance to go inside but the Ukrainian Greek church in Tallinn and the Ukrainian cultural centre provide a focus for the community in Tallinn.

Great that there are people who keep their culture alive while far away from motherland. The Place, where the Ukrainians of Tallinn vet together.

A beautiful Ukrainian church! A center of Ukrainians where the spirit of our country is really felt. A place in the center of Tallinn that teleports you home.

Small church but authentic in every respect. Many art works and wall hangings. Local guides available to help visitors see the most important parts of the church.
