Catherine's Alley, formerly known as the Monk's Alley, connects Vene and Müürivahe streets. Catherine’sPassage (Katariina Kaik) is one of the most charming small streets in Old Town Tallinn. St Catherine's church, from which the alley took its name, is thought to have been built here more than 700years ago. The southern side of the alley is lined with predominantly 15th-17th century residences. The alley asa whole retains its medieval atmosphere. It was last restored in 1995. Its original place. There are a lot of shops, workrooms, studios. Glassblower or weaver create masterpiecesbefore your eyes.

A true Tallinn experience that you should embrace while visiting. The view at night is more lonely but still with a certain magic in it.

Not much going on, nice medieval style buildings now if you're from a country with lots of this stuff, it's nothing new at all, I'm sure however if you're from a new world country like the USA or Australia then this will be really cool to see. Don't miss out on the medieval wall walk at the bottom of this alleyway.

Narrow beautiful passage. Though it's such a small and narrow passage, it has so much history. Feels like you are walking through the medieval time. The main highlights are the arched beams. If you are in Tallinn, it's a must visit place.

It looks beautiful in winter. The crossbars date from the 15th century. These were intended to stabilize the adjacent houses.

What a lovely, picturesque and very charming place. The passage is not very long, but it is worth strolling slowly to admire the architectural details of this place which create a real urban attraction.

This place is a scenic spot and is located at the corner of an alley. It was difficult to find at first. Fortunately, it is clearly shown on the map, otherwise it would be really easy to miss it. Standing here to experience the medieval style is very historical.

Beautiful spot in Tallinn - probably one of the best looking medieval feels outside Danish Gardens. Loved it here - great for pictures- also don't forget that Restaurant Contravento is right here - pretty good pizza I would say

Nice area. Flower market, small park and restaurants found before entering the passage. Then you’ll see stalls selling woollen products and other souvenirs.

This is one of places I really loved in Tallin. The stone paved street and walls of ancient city will bring your imagination back to time.

If you are visiting Tallinn, try to find your way to this passage that takes you back to Medieval times and fills your imagination as if you were in a movie setting. The passage, with its arches giving a special medieval charm, also shows some descriptions referring to "14th to 15th century tombstones from the St Chaterine’s Friary in Tallinn”. We found this walkway really special and it’s kind of hidden, then we would suggest to take a note and don’t miss to walk there. Eli: 5 / Serge: 5 Recommended: Totally recommended! Tips: Wear comfortable shoes.

Awesome look into an old monastery. Not much of relics to look at but well worth the time spent because of the setting.

It is an enchanting medieval alleyway joining Vene and Müürivahe streets with uneven stone walls and overhead vaulting. I love how it gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. The passage runs along the surviving wall of St. Catherine’s Church, which was built in 1246 and was formerly the largest church in the city. You can still notice several gravestones here, some dating from the 14th century. Nowadays, the passage is home to an ensemble of arts and craft workshops. You can watch applied artists work with stained glass, ceramics, leatherwork, millinery, and jewellery and check out their wares.

Such a beautiful spot, as if it has remained unscathed by time! Medieval metal music was a major plus while passing by this place (I think it was from the doll museum that's there). Don't miss it 😉

Imersed yourself in this gorgeous small quarter of old town. It can be a bit crowded during the weekend, but also worth a while to get a selfie in this Instagram worthy passage way:))
