This
was
the
worst
hotel
experience
I
have
ever
had.
It
started
off
with
no
one
at
the
reception
during
my
arrival
at
18:30,
and
I
had
to
wait
for
at
least
10
minutes
before
anyone
showed
up.
The
staff
who
showed
up
had
really
poor
English
skills,
making
it
almost
impossible
to
understand
what
she
was
trying
to
say.
To
this
day,
I'm
unsure
if
breakfast
was
included
in
my
reservation
or
not.
Probably
not,
because
she
mentioned
something
about
the
breakfast
costing
hundreds
of
euros
(I'm
not
sure
about
the
real
cost;
she
used
numbers
I
had
never
heard
before,
containing
the
word
"hundred").
Walking
up
the
stairs
to
get
to
my
room,
I
was
immediately
hit
by
a
stench
of
urine.
Unfortunately,
the
smell
did
not
subside
in
the
room
but
only
got
worse,
especially
in
the
bathroom.
The
room
itself
was
its
own
kind
of
disaster.
The
water
pressure
in
the
shower
was
non-existent,
no
real
body
soap
was
provided,
the
towels
did
not
soak
up
any
water
(this
was
a
first
for
me
as
well),
and
the
door
handles
were
sticky.
The
furniture
in
the
room
felt
like
it
was
lifted
straight
out
of
a
museum.
The
carpet
looked
really
dirty,
making
me
not
want
to
put
any
of
my
luggage
or
belongings
on
the
floor.
This,
combined
with
the
strong
smell
of
sewage,
made
me
feel
nauseous
and
immediately
want
to
leave
again.
Apart
from
two
desk
lamps,
there
was
no
real
light
in
the
room.
Ironically,
during
the
night,
the
room
didn't
get
dark,
since
the
blinds
don't
cover
the
entire
window,
letting
the
light
of
the
streetlights
in.
The
"mattress"
(the
5cm
foam
thing
you
might
know
from
the
cheapest
of
hostels)
was
way
too
hard.
It
is
currently
2023,
so
I
would
expect
some
kind
of
possibility
to
charge
my
devices
and
accessories
(phone,
watch,
power
bank).
This
was
made
almost
impossible
since
the
only
available
power
outlet
(not
even
close
to
the
bed,
by
the
way)
was
broken.
There
was
the
option
to
disconnect
the
minibar
or
one
of
the
antique
lamps
to
get
some
much-needed
electricity.
I
went
with
option
2.
In
the
end,
I
decided
to
spend
the
night
at
the
50€
hostel
next
door,
which
far
surpassed
all
my
expectations
and
everything
Savoy
had
to
offer.
It's
quite
crazy
when
you
think
about
it.
After
complaining
the
next
day,
they
gave
me
another
room,
which
didn't
have
the
smell
issues.
Everything
else
stayed
the
same
more
or
less,
with
an
added
bonus
of
a
long
hair
from
the
previous
person
in
the
bed.
I
think
I
forgot
to
mention
one
thing:
This
is
a
five-star
hotel
we
are
talking
about.
For
anyone
reading
this:
Do
yourself
a
favor
and
avoid
booking
a
room
in
this
place.
It
is
clearly
a
rip-off,
trying
to
siphon
your
tourist
euros
for
subpar
or
nonexistent
quality/standards.
