We stayed here with a friend for two nights. We had read previous reviews and were expecting a good experience. Sadly, our stay was disappointing. The staff at the reception did not greet us upon arrival and had us wait while coding some room keys. While serving us she was not friendly at all. The rooms were pretty good, although rather small, and clean. The bed was comfy and linen were great. The breakfast was very disappointing: bread and pastry were dry and the breakfast sortiment was altogether modest. The location is excellent but paying 125 euros per night I would have expected better service.

Poor service. Communication through E-mail before our stay was arduous, as we barely got a full sentence out of them. Our stay was fine, room was nice and location was good. Although we reserved vegan breakfast for our stay, we were surprised at our first breakfast with literally only lettuce, tomato and pickle. We had to go on a long walk to a breakfast place, that ended up being clossed. The next morning, a mediocre salad was made for us for breakfast. And the last morning we had a little bit more choice, it was finaly acceptable. After making a formal complaint at the desk about this, and also improvements they could make to the spa (Sauna was very dry, and the shower drain was clogged), they said the manager will get back to us. It has been almost 2 months, and no word.

Nice room, and friendly staff. Breakfast is very good, better than we expected, with a wide variety of food. I only gave three stars, because when we checked out the lady at reception tried to charge us again for the room, which we had already paid for at check in. She asked for proof that we had paid. Luckily we had kept the receipt, and could produce it. No apology, she just said the accountant hadn’t entered it in the system.

Avoid like the plague. Good luck checking in, and then the key for main door never works, 4 times had to go in the freezing cold to the reception which is 100m from the hotel When I asked my money back, the rude condescending receptionist threaten to call the police on me lol 😝 Don’t even think about staying here.

We have been there more than 5 days and it is our favourite hotel in Tallinn. Von Stackelberg is a beautifully renovated hotel that combines the luxury of a boutique hotel with a historical atmosphere. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room is really intimate and beautiful. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. We will be back once again, like every year.

Appalling service level for a hotel calling it's 4 star hotel. Booked through a travel agency, exchanging four messages with the reception prior to arrival just to get downgraded and the hotel didn't bother telling. Said they forgot as I noticed. Interesting that the receptionist remained silent after I had pointed out that the registration form stated single room on it. Clearly an attempt to hide and wish I would not notice being assigned a standard room at a price of their premium room. Fair enough in the event of overbooking but this experience was akin to being ripped off. Travelling as a couple for a get away, so uncalled for and unprofessional. The hotel simply thought a fruit platter delivered to the room would suffice and its OK not to tell a client. The room number signs show the room class. Breakfast was good but very limited options if you are vegetarian.

We’d a great stay here. The hotel is really cool, warm in the winter and very close to the old town. The breakfast selection was best we’d ever seen - I’d come back for the breakfast alone. The room was very large, spacious. We got the room with jacuzzi - only issue was there wasn’t a standalone shower. Otherwise great stay!

Hotel is located close to old town what is a great thing. Rooms are clean however I've ha a little bit to low temperature inside during winter time (heater was set on maximum). Breakfast really good, nice selection of food.

Hotel was nice, but the restaurant service was horrible. My wife and I ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. Unfortunately, they only brought the appetizer and my wife's entree. The bar man/server made an error and didn't put my order in...and avoided our table when I asked about my dinner. No apologies and really poor service at Ottos Wine and Tapas Bar. I left hungry and tired.

We took deluxe room with jacuzzi unfortunately this one was very small and super basic; the room in general was nice but nothing more; the bed was to soft for our standard. Breakfast was at the standard 5 stars, a lot of variety of food and well prepared!

Beautiful old building. Outside view from streets may not attractive but inside you'll find gem! Extremely good value and also cheap spa prices. Jacuzzi in room was big bonus!

Lovely and clean hotel. Walls are very thin and noises from other rooms are disturbing. Jacuzzi in zen room was quite small and bubbles were too heavy. Nice staff and good breakfirst.

I stayed here for a week during a business trip. The hotel is very nice, and I really enjoyed my stay. The restaurant was good, although it was closed for several days during my stay, I was told the Chef was ill. My room was large, and nicely appointed. The design of the bathroom was a little odd, I am not sure how an older person would be able to get into the tub/shower, it was raised quite high and you need a step stool to get in. I had no problem, but I am young and flexible. The conference center in the hotel is nice, and the service was very good. I look forward to my next stay.

Nice small hotell centrally situated. Double rooms with a single queen bed, unfortunately the staff doesn't know the difference between a double and twin room - during a business trip myself and my colleague were expected to share a single bed... Hotel breakfast was quite bad and tasteless, although much to choose from. We did not visit the SPA but saw it was expensive.

Upea hotelli vanhan kaupungin laidalla. Autolle vartioitu paikoitus.

Just great. We will come again. Delux room perfect. Silent and clean. Only few carpark slots available. Enough in the summertime?

AVOID THIS HOTEL We rented a room in this hotel for 5 nights in the City Hotel, the annexed hotel ran by von Stackelberg hotel as well. The stay was just coreect for the first 4 nights, however, the last night we had problems with the manager. During our last day our magnetic keys didn’t work and at night, not even the new keys worked. We were waiting outside our room for an hour and a half, being as nice as we could with the employee DORIS (who was also absolutely nice to us as well) since we knew it was not her fault that we were locked out our room. However, the manager was not even nice to us. He didn’t even look at us nor apologized. For half an hour, he looked for the master key to open our door because he just couldn’t find it anywhere. After that hour an a half patiently waiting for our room to be unlocked he again didn’t even apologize. When we asked for any compensation or at least an explanation his words were as follows: “how much did you pay for this room? Oh well what do you expect from a 2 stars hotel room? Pay for a better room the next time.” I don’t know about the rest but I always expect a hotel to have accesible doors regardless of what I have pay. Even if a problem like this happens, which is completely possible, I expect the manager to treat me correctly and not being rude and disrespectful to his clients. Fully grateful for the treatment by Doris but after seeing how the manager treats his clients, I can clearly point out he doesn’t care at all about his clients. Basically treated as second class customers. Avoid coming here!!!!

Nice old town feel, and with a modern renovation, space for enjoying your leisure time, convenient to walk everywhere and secured indoor terrace. Old town district literally across the street, and reasonable price restaurants in walking distance also.

This is a really great hotel. I usually stay in chain hotels but this was a fantastic experience. The hotel is modern but sympathetically decorated with nice high end touches. Breakfast is superb and the staff are lovey. My room was a standard room and was in the annexe. For me this was great as I overlooked the side street not the main drag and so was nice and quiet. The bathroom shower door seal at the bottom was ill fitted and the drain was slow. This meant that water went under the door and onto the bathroom floor. Also, seeing as the shower door opened outward, when you get out of the shower it pushed the water that’s leaked out even further around the bathroom floor. This was nothing more than a slight inconvenience and didn’t detract from the room itself. The bed was so comfy - I had 3 great nights’ sleep. The walk into the old town was perfect and so beautiful. Takes about 10-15 mins. All the Christmas lights and trees along the route and in the old town are lovely. Especially covered in snow! Perfect location for this hotel. I’ll be staying here again for sure.

My favorite boutique hotel in Tallinn: 3 minutes walk to Old Town, high-end quality bathroom toiletries, comfortable beds, jacuzzi bath inside the Zen rooms, and the Spa, you book it for your room for an hour as a courtesy if you are staying in Zen rooms. It has additional cost for the rest of the rooms. Very rich and complete complementary breakfast, for all tastes and food preferences, and friendly and helpful stuff.

Wonderful staff ❀ loving the variety in the breakfast buffet. We had an amazing room with jacuzzi Zen bath. The courtyard is so beautiful and peaceful within the city area. Parking space available. Definitely coming back👌đŸŒș

This is a very centrally located hotel just outside the old city and close to the king's garden where the old sages tell that the Dannebrog came down from heaven in a battle. The food was of international standard and tasty.

The rooms here are quaint and the location is convenient, but this place needs some work. The concierge was absolutely appalling, no matter the time of day or night; you had to call the front desk several times over the course of 15 minutes to get anyone; when I went down to speak to someone in the morning, the guy stayed in the other room staring at me for several minutes before yelling a vulgar, "What?" over to me and eventually getting up (I'm still reeling from how rude he was); the girl who handled the check-out process was visibly irritated when she had to repeat herself; and the list goes on. The restaurant/bar/et al has different hours listed in the room manual, on the website, and via the concierge, so it felt impossible to get food when you wanted it. The collection of dead bugs in my room's window betrayed how unthorough housekeeping is.

Very nice and big room. Only down side is the room is in the basement and we have two kids and two strollers so it becomes a hustle to get in and out.

Nice hotel. Good hospitality. Value for money. Good breakfast.

The hotel has great location and it’s close to the old town. You will have to walk a up hill to get there. My room was cozy, small size and fortunately they have double windows so it was quiet. The €12 breakfast had good selection of bread, juices and even Prosecco. The staff at breakfast spoke very little English so it was harder to communicate. Unfortunately the hotel bar was closed. The spa is available for share use at €16 per hour. *If you have long hair, take your own hairdryer, otherwise will take you ages.

The hotel is not bad and it’s close to the city centre, just a short 10 minutes walk. My room was basic but it was nice. I don't think the shower design was well thought out because the water comes out from under the shower door. Breakfast is good and they have good options if you are vegetarian. The service was ok.
