The location is the best part of the hotel. We booked super late, so of the limited options this was the best price available. The staff are incredibly unfriendly. Between playing on their phone and joking with each other, they are oblivious to guests. The breakfast is not very good, but included in the price. Our room was VERY hot and there was no fan. The only way to cool it down was to open the window which brought in Estonian Viking Mosquitoes we had to battle at night to stay cool. In a town full of hotels, I would recommend making this a last option.

The guy in the reception slim and tall He is very rude and unhelpful and RACIST !! - The facilities in the room are very basic. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel at all, at best a 1 - 2 star hotel. - Great location , the building is a beautiful, very old wooden house, feels very nice. - The wifi is very bad. - I don't recommend for foreigners people going to that place !!

Pros: Cheap & location was good. Staff was ok too. Cons: About everything else. We were on the first floor and there were some people nearby speaking loudly and it literally sounded like they are in the same room, making sleeping pretty much impossible. Breakfast was mediocre. Oh, and you could basically see the cigarette smoke inside the room when other customers were smoking on the backyard 😂👍

Please give a👍 if helpful. I can only give an average score because the hotel is exactly that. We had a good rate on the single rooms but there was hardly any room to move in them, nowhere to unpack and store clothing, no bedside cabinet, only a small drawer in a desk, very small sink with a large tap in the middle and a glass shelf immediately above and so unable to anything other than wash hands. Nicely tiled but very small shower with a floor length shower curtain that made it impossible not to wet the floor. There was a small safe on the window ledge. Unable to shut the very basic and flimsy window fully. Not enough tables in the breakfast area. Coffee machine out of order most mornings and a massive queue to use it when working. This is a busy hotel purely because of it location so why not have two coffee machines? On the positive side this is a building with lots of history and interesting architecture and also very close indeed to all the activities in the historic Old Town. If you don't mind the negatives then this is a basic hotel with good prices and excellent location.

Pros: Receptionist was helpful and very nice person and location was very good if you are into exploring Old Town. Cons: Dishes were dirty and rooms felt very cheap. Overall vibe was not pleasant. Summary: If you want to feel cozy and pleased, try to find something else regardless pros. Pictures on their website are misleading.

Went there and they didn't speak a word of Estonian or didn't try to communicate in English. It seems to be some Russian place and they expect you to speak Russian. Worst customer service I have found in a "hotel". Left because I didn't feel safe there and couldn't do check-in. I contacted booking.com and they promised to request free cancellation but they haven't refunded the money either. Stay away, definitely not a real proper hotel.

The receptionist (Mr. Vasiliy? slim and tall guy) is never there. At check-in, I had to ring the bell and wait for 20 min for him to appear and give the keys; he is very rude and unhelpful; he misinforms about things such as breakfast time (so I missed one). The facilities in the room are very basic. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel at all, at best a 2-star hotel. The location is great, the building is a beautiful, very old wooden house, feels very nice. It is quiet. Breakfasts are good! The wifi is very bad. The information in the hotel is bad: the building is huge and it is very difficult to find the way to your room or to the breakfast restaurants: the signs are bad or nonexistent or difficult to find

We were there for 5 days, 4 nights. We requested 1 big bed and got 2 small to put together. The room was way too small, for pidgeons maybe. There was no closet. Fridge was not working (its winter so its okay i guess). When i had to pee i had to bend my head, same for shower. Stairs to the room were a bit hard to climb. I would give 1 star but breakfast was good and hotel by it self was museum. Room was 502.

Very interesting-looking place, but just not good for sleeping. Noisy (with highly varying levels of blast from the night club below until morning!), and the room is a little too cold. Not coming again.

Location is the only good thing about this hotel. No elevator, stairs everywhere. VERY rude staff. The lady who was at the reception on the day that we arrived was extremely patronising. We asked for help with our luggage for the next morning (as we were staying on the third floor with three large suitcases) and were told that no staff would be available and we would have to help ourselves, even though someone from the staff was going to be on duty. The room was small, dirty, bathroom was tiny with only two towels (in a room for three). Unpleasant smell present throughout as well. Would not recommend. We left the same day.

Terrible stay due to security and safety issues. The hotel is in a great location (just a short 2 min walk from the main square), has a nice inclusive breakfast and good comfortable rooms for a decent price. However, we stayed in room 105 which has a small courtyard in front of it and both nights people came to smoke in the area that clearly prohibits smoking. The smoke drafts into the room. The first night two guys came around 2am and were talking quite loudly. We were half asleep and left it. The next evening it happened again - and I asked the guy (bald, slight build) three times to leave. The third time I went to the receptionist to ask for a key to lock the courtyard door. (As it was specifically only for our room). No ket was available. As two females we felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable with this occurrence. I would have expected hotel senior management to be contacted immediately but this was not done. We ended up just barricading the door with a chair for safety.

    1) Entered the hotel during business hours, but the door was closed. No obvious way inside. 2)Once we entered, no one was at reception. No bell or another way to contact reception. We had to wait till staff arrived at the reception after an inconvenient amount of time. 3) When we made through the maze to our room, there were bugs in our room. 4) We were offered an alternative room, but the front reception staff didn't even bother apologising for the inconvenience for giving us a room with bed bugs. 5) Customer service is generally poor and unhelpful. Staff comes across as rude. The hotel is below expected standards.

The location is sweet and it's in old town which is great. But the smallest sound travels through the walls like there is no wall. No soundproofing at all. The bed is not the best but the hotel is clean and okey.

Honestly a fantastic hotel. The location and hotel are beautiful. The breakfast is hot and plentiful. And the price is an absolute bargain! Yes, there's a nightclub near the hotel, so if you're noise sensitive, book well in advance and ask for a quiet room. The club was only putting out noise Saturday night, other nights it's really quiet.

Cute old fashioned hotel with great atmosphere, stepping into it is like doing a travel in time. Full of stairs and hallways, nooks and crannies, dead ends and surprises, the layout of the hotel follows no rules or logic and I am in love with it. It is so easy to get lost, and also such a pleasure to do so. The hotel is nothing fancy, it fills the basic needs, but the charm it has is to die for!

The worst expierence ever. I don't know how can they give this hotel 4 stars. I give them 1 star, not more. And I have been in 1 star hotels, which where much more better than this. At first the staff- when we came, there was a young man , I said I wanted to check in, he asked us to wait. We waited about 5 minutes, and there was no more people exept us. Then, he talked very silent, I had to ask after each sentence to repeat, he was inpolite. A hotel didnt have parking, so we asked where could we find it, he show us in the map 2 places, but when we asked about prices he could't answer. We booked 2 rooms, because we were with kids. We asked to give us rooms next to each other, but he said that he can't and gave one room in the first floor, and the second room in the third floor. And thats not all- to get to the room in the first floor we had to go through inner courtyard. It was winter and it was cold. It was verry inconvinient. We travelled with friends, they come to check in an hour later and they got 2 rooms next to each other in the same 3 floor. Why he couldnt give us rooms next to each other?.. Our room was very cold, I had to sleep with clothes on. The walls of our room was very thin, we heard a mens snoring from another room all night, it was so loud that sometimes I thought that he sleeps in our room. Childrens room was to hot, and had no window in it and no ventilation. The refrigerator and the safe didnt work in both rooms. There are many tiny and confusing corridors like in labyrinth. We saw many people couldnt find the rooms. In case of fire it would be hard to escape.. Breakfast was very very poor.. and I mean it. There was no biscuits, no buns, no croissant, only bread. Only 1 choise of flakes, 1 choise of jam, one choise of youghurt, no pancakes. They was no juice, only some compot or limonade. I havent seen anywhere such poor breakfast.. On top of everything next morning we cheked out, I gave the room keys to the staff, and my husband went to the parking to take the car. I was waiting with chidren in the lobby when came russian speaking guy and started to talk something. At first I didnt understand what he wants, because he speaks only russian no english, then he started to show us to go somewhere in another lobby, that we cant stay here. And that other lobby was not heated it was cold, like outside. And I had to wait there till my husband came. I never come back to this hotel, and I dont recomend to anyone.

Very cool hotel inside with good service. BUT it's impossible to sleep there because of night club close to the hotel. Loud music all night and loud drunk visitors, with closed windows it's too loud anyway

Great price and location. Terrible breakfast selection. Hotel is like a maze which is kinda cool but also a bit challenging to get around. Nice historic area and hotel overall, wish they would include more in the breakfast. Not suitable for those with limited mobility..

Hotel layout is like labyrinth and reminds of escape room game like someone else wrote also. All nice and funny until you come to think about a possible fire situation, no chance to get out alive. First night was given freezing cold room and had to sleep wearing hats etc. Evening staff was not very helpful. Luckily better staff in the morning and got to change room. Second night the room was on 3rd (or second,no clue really) floor and it was OK & warm. Walls paper-thin so bring earplugs. Wintertime don't accept room that has entrance direct from outside courtyard as those are not insulated at all. Breakfast ok if you go early, later on less variety. Location perfect.

Well, interesting place. Old building and so many stairs! No accessible at all. But lot of history and clean room in the Old Town. Breakfast is quite poor! And staff hardly speak or smile...

Nice, cozy and warm rooms. Hottube next room was too loudy. Old stonewalls in rooms was cool. Lots of stairways, maze-like hallways. Some emergency exit was blocked by childbeds. No glutenfree bread or else at the breakfast. 😔

The good: + Great location in the Old Town. + Room was clean. + Decent beds. + Quirky, centuries old building with maze-like corridors. + Inexpensive. The bad: - Sewer smell eminating from no doubt very old pipes. - Very basic breakfast. - Very basic rooms, no AC. - Drafty rooms, probably with moisture issues around the court yard (floor had peeled off) The ugly: - The hotel has a night club and a courtyard, and holds parties in both until 5am, so don't expect to get any sleep. - Very little soundproofing.

Charmingly unique design and cozy rooms at a great price in the perfect location. Nice walk to all the best parts of old town. Friendly staff, good value, no complaints. Even an ok breakfast.

The property is disgusting and a health risk. They put me in a room which was two meters from 10-12 5G antennas on the roof!!! This is a severe health hazard!! I took photos showing how close these antennas were to my room; but, this lowlife hotel actually lied to Booking.com about them. The hotel refused to give me a refund; and BOOKING.COM is complicit with them not giving me my refund. Even after booking.com verified my photos and complaint as true, they did not ensure my full refund. And, actually, still complicit with this disgusting hotel, booking.com actually IGNORED FIVE MESSAGES of mine sent to them about it. So, in summary, the hotel endangers your health and lies about it; and Booking.com covers for this hotel and supports them in that health hazard and deceit. And, I work as a telecommunications engineer for almost twenty years; so I can absolutely assure you that this hotel is a health hazard. And, again, Booking.com is complicit in this!!! **** DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS TERRIBLE, DANGEROUS, AND DECEITFUL HOTEL!!! And, also, use any other service than Booking.com, as they are complicit with these hotels, and offer disgusting customer service!!!!

Large room with a great shower. The hotel is a fascinating maze of corridors and staircases. Excellent location too. Breakfast was a bit lacking.

We stayed at the hotel from Friday to Sunday. Room 226 (standard double room) 1. The hotel room did not match the description. 2. from 22.00 to 05.00 the glass in the windows was shaking from the loud music. which came from a night club. 3. The double bed was made from two single beds, as a result a hole was formed between them. Uncomfortable to sleep. 4. Breakfast is good but (the same meal every morning) 5. The interior of the hotel building is good. 6. On holidays, I recommend not choosing a room facing the street (it will be loud)

The hotel has a good breakfast and facilities are in ok condition. It has some problem with the bathrooms and the pipes, it has a bad smell in some rooms and corridors. The access to some rooms it's pretty limited and difficult to arrive.

Official category 4 *. We would give 3 + *. 1 night for two with breakfast 45 euros. I think it's a fair price. A small cozy hotel in the Old Town of Tallinn. Good location. All within walking distance. Service average. Breakfast is nothing special but your stomach can be filled. The rooms are quite small but everything you need is available. The biggest downside is NOISE. You can even hear breathing in the next room.

good price. but there is kucha light through the windows at night. I would also like the guy at the reception to be a little more smiling and greet customers.

Good location in the heart of Old town. inside of the hotel is like a labyrnth. Heating is ok. If the staff knew English, it would be better.

Cozy. Simple. But still nice place to stay. Wery good location. Nearest parking space with good price is P4 at Suurtüki street.

The location's great as well as the price but those are easy to find in so many other places too. This place is nowhere near 4*, maybe it was 70 years ago but no more. I'd rate it 1*-2* max. The place is a really narrow labyrinth, stairs going up & down and also the rooms are narrow with weird drops inside. Paper thin walls and a nightclub running somewhere near all night. The room has small old tv which can't even get signal anymore. Why even have them there beats my imagination. Beds are overly soft so I chose to sleep on the floor instead. No warm water in the shower so had to use the sink to wash myself. Seems fairly clean to me but overall I wouldn't choose the same place again.

The hotel is located in the Old Town (Vannalinn). Undoubtedly, the place is amazing. However, the hotel was not as clean as expected. A lot of squeezing noise inside the hotel, and also music from the restaurang downstairs made it difficult to fall asleep.

I had a great stay at the St. Olav Hotel. I honestly chose it because I was last minute looking for a hotel near the train station for one night and I am so glad I found it! The location could not be more perfect--5 min walk from everything in Old Town and the Tallinn train station, close to shops and attractions. The hotel itself is gorgeous with lots of historical details. The breakfast was quite good as well. For the price and location, the value cannot be beat. The room itself was a bit small, but really not a problem for a solo trip and one night. I highly recommend!

Very unfriedly staff, dirty rooms, the worst hotel I have ever been... In our room we had a rubbish from previous guests. We have booked a standard room, and become an economy room. Why? I don't know. It was a lot of free rooms. After 1 night we changed the room for standard room, but they didin't give us money back for the less rate for one night in an economy room. They didin't give us a bill by living.

An unexpectedly and surprisingly nice place almost in the middle of the Old Town. Interiors look like a medieval castle, with a number of mysterious corridors and internal yards.

Hotel is situated in the charming historical building in the old city center of Tallin. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Nonetheless, hotel has different floors and many hallways, which might be difficult to move around for some people. It's easy to find and staff was friendly. Overall it was good value for money and I am happy to recommend it!

Pretty good hotel for the price but not perfect. The rooms were extremely hot and there is no AC. Also keep in mind there is no elevator here due to the fact that the building is so old. Service was ok, also the breakfast was tasty.

  • 4/5 Jorg L. 1 year ago on Google
I didn't rent there, but it seemed like a very historical building with a lot of staircases and rooms in a disarray not common in modern hotels. It must be interesting for people looking for historical authenticity. I am sorry I didn't have the time to check it all out

  • 2/5 Risto K. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms where clean. And it's near everything in old town. Bad brekfast. Bad service. Music plays all night(can't sleep). Fridge didn't work Room was humid, and hot. Reserved two rooms well a head and asked two single beds in both rooms. Both rooms had queen size single.

A good little hotel in the heart of the Old town. Coffee at breakfast wasn't hot but everything else was what I'd expect from a continental breakfast. Rooms were good. Maybe could use tea/coffee making facilities in them tho! Overall a nice 4 day stay!
