Went there with my friends. When I left, they weren't my friends anymore. The room was nice, though. Wish it had speakers.

No chamber maid service. No towels changed or beds made. Extremely soft and uncomfortable beds. No pillows available, only cushions. Unpleasant smell in the corridor and lifts are terrible. The room nearby had a dog barking all night. The only positive thing is its location, right in the centre.

My partner and I booked a standard room here, and we definitely made the right decision. The rooms are compact, but what more do you need. Ours was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable, and the temperature of the room was perfect. I honestly couldn’t fault anything. Everything had been well thought through. Staff were to a person all very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend!

Good breakfast… Rooms are old fashioned. Bathrobe were old and washed like million times. Sink was broken and shower floor was repaired noticeable

Comfortable hotel with great location. It is at the entrance to the Tallinn Old City. Great panarama view from room. Testy and reach breakfast. Our hotel room was ready in advance. KGB museum make some spices for this hotel. Luggage room is opened 24/7.

Hotel Viru is one of the most classic landmarks in Tallinn city. Built in 1970 and opened in 1972, the hotel has seen the Soviet times and has been since converted to a fully modern hotel. The service is effective and good and the location is super. If you have a room in the upper floors, you can enjoy great views as well. In the summer time there is a rooftop bar in the 23rd floor too. Hotel visitprs can use a gym and sauna lovers can rent one of the three private saunas. The buffet breakfast is quite basic but of ok quality.

Four of us stayed in a SuperiorX twin room with the possibility for two extra beds. The view was great from the 14th floor. The room had two toilets (one in the bathroom) which was nice. You can tell the hotel is quite old judging from the worn out floor and other amenities. Biggest gripe might be that the two extra beds advertised were in fact only one narrow sofa bed with two sets of blankets and pillows, leaving about 50cm per person with no space in between. This should not count as two extra beds for two single men. We managed the night with some improvisation. Staff was friendly. The large and very busy breakfast buffet worked well and had a wide selection of warm and cold dishes.

Situated at city center, have joined the tour group hence was not really able to enjoy the facilities nor the service. However rooms are ok, as I am Asian and small built, is ok for my size. If you have bigger luggages that my be a pickle

Good location, some odd blood-like stains in the room and funky smell. Possibly mold? I mean there are better options available, but if you want something iconic and brutalist this is your place.

Nice hotel in center. Really good and rich breakfast. Bed was basic. There was no shoehorn. View was beautiful.

Just went for drinks at rooftop bar. Great view of harbor. Partial view of old town. For a great photo, go down one floor to the outside smoking area. Get a great photo of old town. Best in the a.m. as the sun is behind you.

Did not enjoy my stay here. The staff is unfriendly and not helpful. You have to request room cleaning. The fridge isn’t an actual fridge/doesn’t get cold/not sure if its purpose? I’m assuming it’s a budget friendly hotel, my work paid for it. The bed had stains on it and the room was really small. Very loud at night, families and drunk people screaming and making noise all night in the hallways and rooms.

The ultimate stay for your Tallinn vacation/holiday. Located so close to all the sites and history. Wonderful rooms and service, and great feel to it. Will be back as often as able.

Stayed here for a few weeks. Perfect walking distance to nearby attractions. Nice room. Showers have no doors or curtains, so it stays cold because of the draft. Nice alcohol bar downstairs near lobby. Backside connects to a shopping mall. They offer daily vouchers to use nearby gym. Ask for the Viru Members Card!

Somehow I'm not able to recommend this hotel because you risk getting beaten down by staff by the entrance and then locked outside, Very strange way of welcoming you back to your room.

One of the best hotels in Tallinn. My trip was days long and I quite like the atmosphere and service received. What I loved most: the neatness of the rooms and the courtesy of staff. Oh, the location and how accessible many places are from there was just perfect! There is also a mall and an open eatery where you can get Korean and other good meals. What I didn't like: The twin bed. Personally hate those. Breakfast option was boring and wasn't dynamic enough. Overall, good value for

Sijainti erinomainen. Ostospaikat, ravintolat, baari/pub/yökerho melkein huoneen ulkopuolella.

Maybe historically important piece of Tallinn, but as a modern day hotel, nothing special and actually a very generic place to stay. Highlights are superior location and nice breakfast selection. Cleanliness, room amenities and service were average at best. A hotel to stay once, but not twice. The city has so much more to offer!

Pari vuotta ollut väliä kun Virussa yövytty. Eipä juurikaan mitään erityistä kehitystä olosuhteissa huomattavissa. Superior huoneet siistit, tilavat ja iso parivuode, kyllä kelpaa kelliä. Huone hiljainen, hyvin nukkuu, ainoa on huoneiden ovien kova ääninen sulkeutuminen.

Sijainti hotellilla on aivan loistava, kävellen pääsee näkemään hyvin Tallinnaa. Menisinkö uudelleen, mahdollisesti.

Hotel in a perfect location. I had a wonderful view of the harbor. The breakfasts were perfect with a huge selection. The rooms were poorly soundproofed and they only clean when you ask for it, probably because of the size of the hotel. There was no wardrobe in the room, only a hanger and a very small cabinet above the hanger.

Scenery excellent, at least towards to harbour at level 20. Kgb museum was fully booked 😐

Great location and history! KGB museum was interesting and only takes an hour (make sure you reserve time/buy tickets due to limited group size). Old town was amazing (only 5 minute walk away).

Nice hotel with good food & warm hospitality. But there are no any notices or signages in English languages , so it’s difficult for the international tourist to understand the menu of breakfast. The location of hotel is very good with nice views from room windows.

Pro: - very good location (close to old town) and room view. - early check-in without extra charge Con: - We live in 2022 and there were no options for vegans for breakfast except vegan milk and fruits.

We had a spacious room with sauna and panoramic view of the old town and the Gulf of Finland. Just wow!

  • 3/5 Mihail L. 1 year ago on Google
Very mediocre. I've stayed here few times before, mainly because of the good location. Asked for a room cleaning, didn't get it. Asked for vegan+gluten-free products at the breakfast, didn't get them. Otherwise friendly customer service and ok-ish room. Did the rooms have electric water boiler at some point? It would be very convenient to have those, especially if the hotel can't provide you any options at the breakfast.

super hotel but the situation is very spoiled the impression 03/26/22 on the 7th floor, the housekeeper began to talk rudely to the question of hygiene and cleaning refused said that I don't care about the bosses On your asking to help - don’t count.

Nice hotel. Had a small run-in with the parking (watch your 10 minute parking timer...) And the toilet paper was pretty thin. All other things were amazing. Especially the food. The breakfast was amazing all 3 days in a row!

Badly maintained and small room. Room given to us was not cleaned at all. It was dusty and we had to clean the floor and bed with wet towels. No daily room cleaning or clearing of trash. We had to clear our trash ourselves. Internet was very bad. Requested for an electric kettle and they wanted to charge us 5 euro per day initially. Eventually, we got it waived. Yet the hotel charged a premium hotel rate. Wonder what I paid for to stay. Breakfast was the same for the 9 days when we were there. No change. Wonder how did the KGB staff stayed there previously. Probably one of the worst hotels, I have ever stayed in my many years of travelling. Other than the very convenient location as it is near to Old Town, shopping centres and restaurants which I have to give credit to. The rest I have nothing better to add.

The hotel is situated 100 meters from old city so that is really great. The room was abit dusty but there was a great AC. We had dog with us so it was great that they had also animal rooms. We also got dog toy and poop bags from the reception :). The breakfast good but its was a bit weird that they so hastily took our food away. I did bring food to the table and did go to get some coffee and minute later they took my full plate away :D

We had several nights stay with 5 people and by own car. Check-in was easy and interaction with reception in over all was fluent. One thing that makes communication difficult is the plex that blocks voice. You need to either yell or bow down near to the whole. Near by parking lot was quite cheep 45 € 4 days for hotel quests. Plenty of space and electric car stations also. We had some complications with our suite rooms. First one had so noisy air condition unit that we could barely sleep. Luckily we got a spare one but that one had some minor flaws aswell. Despite that rooms were a good size, offers a nice view to citylife and had a sauna. Kids liked the 17th floor by the window sitting spots especially. Breakfast just didnt work properly. We had to wait approximatly 10 minutes per morning for a table. Then we had to empty/clean table ourself to make room for eating. Cleaning service as it is just isnt efficient enough. Wagons instead of little trays for cleaning service would do a miracle. Food itself was okay and it was easy to get and didnt go out. Location of the hotel is perfect. Only couple of minutes away from the harbor. (by car) Easy to go to the old city and near by shopping centers. Good connections to farther locations like zoo. Roads were in good conditions and traffic was decent.

Rooms dated, well positioned in walking distance to old town and entertainment. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Tallinn is an awesome town to visit.

After finally booking a trip after Covid we booked the junior suite in this Hotel for a whopping 155€ per night. However, it turned out to be very disappointing overall due to the following. 1. The room was not clean when we arrived. Upon complaining it was cleaned but still had dust in the surfaces. 2. Breakfast is an absolute disgrace. Wouldn’t know where to start. The food is just not great. There were fruit flies hovering all over the food and drink sections. One if the waitresses had an AirPod in her ear and it was just not a very friendly environment. moreover, once again the cleanliness just wasn’t up to the standard of such an expensive hotel. 3. The rooftop Bar has a great view but bad drinks.
