Upon arrival in this cafe we asked for a table, the red-haired waitress(see photo below) was rather unwelcoming, and with a condescending tone, quoting her words, "You sit anywhere you want and you order inside". I was like okay, I'll let it pass. Maybe that's just her normal tone. However more customers were arriving but none of the waitresses seem to be welcoming them. One customer was on her way inside the cafe using the second door (probably for the employees), and I clearly understand the confusion because both doors were just few feet apart from each other. Then this red-haired waitress was telling the customer in a rude voice with hand gestures (like she's shooing a dog away) to enter through the other door. After that remark, I saw her making a face, which could translate to 'how could you not know which way to go?' Then she blurted out something in her own language to a guy sitting in the back table while mocking about the incident. Like excuse me? It's her job to serve customers and educate them if they don't know what rules your restaurant has. I also work in the food industry and customer service is just as important as the food you are offering. She should quit if she doesn't like her job. She ruined the experience!

A great place if you want somewhere quiet but still feel the atmosphere in Tallinn.

A hidden gem in the old town. The vibe is nice, the interior is quite interesting. Hot chocolate is not simple cocoa pretending to be chocolate. For some reason, there is no sparkle. Visited this place twice. First, when exploring the old town. Second, when meeting a friend. But I don't feel like going there one more time. Maybe, one frosty winter evening can change it all...

Very beautiful place to visit with a fun inventive menu with lots of choices. Especially if you have a sweet tooth. It's picturesque and has a old fashioned vibe. I visited several times and its a favourite spot.

Beautiful place with a nice decorations , I love their coffee and caramel cake! Music creates a wonderful atmosphere, a place located inside the courtyard surrounded by many shops, for souvenirs, ceramics and handmade craft things.

We order hot chocolate, cake and small chocolates. Everything was too sweet, we didn't like it. Also, one of the staff was very rude while getting our order. The outside is nice.

We came to have some tea and a sweet bite on a working day evening. The place had customers but there were some free tables outside and plenty inside. The place has a coziest inner yard with tables, music and beautiful plants. Notice that there is no roof, so probably not an options if it is raining. You make the order inside. The cashier is squeezed in quite a corner, tight if there is a queue. The place has many soft drink options. The selections of cakes was quite limited but that’s probably because we came by the end of the day: they had several cakes, some pastries and hand-made pralines. The place also offers icecream and some light food like sandwiches. We ordered two teas and a slice of house cake. The order was given to us directly and cost around 11 euros, we paid by card. The cake was great 👍 All in all, the place is beautiful, charming. It is absolutely worth visiting and spending some lovely moments.

We have visited Pierre during Xmas 🎄 period, maybe that’s why it was a weird experience. Their coffee machine was broken so no coffee to drink. We got tea and chai latte. Most of the cakes/food on the menu was not available, we could order their house cake. House cake was not bad. We wanted to try their chocolates as well, chilli and marc de champagne chocolates were good but nothing that special.

The only good part about this place was the coffee and the croissant. The quiche was dry, the chocolates were okay, and the sandwich was terrible. Their menus don’t provide the full ingredient list, so you’re not getting what you’re ordering. I got “The Classic” sandwich, which said it had ciabatta, cheddar cheese and tomatoes. On the first bite, there was a weird taste. Turns out, ALL of the sandwiches come with a sauce on top. We think it’s remoulade, but we actually aren’t sure because the employee didn’t seem to care when we asked. When we told her that the menu didn’t have this ingredient, she just said ‘sorry’ and that was it. No offer to remake it, no offer to refund it or give us something else. Food establishments that don’t divulge full ingredient lists on their menu leave themselves vulnerable to be held liable if someone is allergic to something. They also leave themselves vulnerable to bad reviews with a false ingredient list and poor customer service. I’m sure some of their other sweets are great, but I would 100% NOT recommend this place. There are other bakeries that have a much better offering for the price. This place was not worth the €25 we spent.

Colorful cafe in Old Town. Pierre Chocolaterie is full of vintage items, small but quirky. Lovely cakes. A nice place to take a stop for coffee.

Great vibes and perfect coffee! If you fancy a sweets break, that is the place to go in Tallinn. It is a bit hidden, but once you find it you will always want to go back.

📍hidden treasure in the Old town, easy to find with Google maps 🖼Interesting, unique authentic interior, small and cosy place. There is an open terrace for warm weather 👩great service, waiters had very impressive uniform 🍰Cakes were very tasty and fresh ☕Tried the Pierre chocolate, which wasn't really different from the other hot chocolate in the menu, but was still tasty 💶Prices were average, quite affordable

Now that I’m reading the reviews, I feel like I missed out on the hot chocolate. While I don’t remember the name of the chocolates I ordered: everything was exceptionally good. The environment itself is serene peaceful and the bohippie decor adds to the ambience.

I usually come here because usually, the chocolates are delicious, the service is good and ambiance is excellent. Well, today, the chocolate was waaay to salty (I had the Aztec chocolate) as there were so many salt crystals on the bottom of the cup. The service, well, had to wait more than 10 minutes for a short line as the cashier also took care of all the orders before taking the next customer. Seemed rather inefficient. And nothing to extraordinary one way or another. Wasn't rude, wasn't smiling, just doing their job, I guess. As it was a sunny day, most people sat outside, with the usual trio playing their live music. The ambiance was the best part of the experience for this visit.

Despite the staff not being very welcoming, their delicious hot choc and cozy atmosphere still make the place worth visiting. A lovely place for dessert on a cold winter’s evening.

Quite interesting cafe place with a themed vibe and decor! It felt like an experience sitting there due to the very interesting decoration! The coffee was quite nice and I enjoyed it but to be honest I didn't really love their desserts but in general I had a good time there! It's a good experience for tourists!

The cafè Is really nice, I visited during Christmas time and it was absolutely gorgeous. They have a wide menu and everything seems nice, I had a classic hot chocolate and it was delicious.

This is a great hidden gem in Tallinn! Very unique atmosphere, amazing cakes, and overall a fantastic vibe. Beware of the pigeons though! They will try to steal your cake! 🤣 The prices were reasonable, the staff is very accommodating to English speakers, and overall just very welcoming! If I’m ever back in Tallinn I’d come here again in a heartbeat

Very good place for desserts and coffee. My cake was good, and the cappuccino is very good. The place is very nice and cozy. You feel like you’re at a backyard in a country-side house. Best of all, it’s secluded in the backside away from the main street outside! Recommend.

This place is so charming and atmospheric. It’s got a boho kitsch vibe in a courtyard setting surrounded by wonderful craft stores. I ordered the Aztec hot chocolate with March de champagne truffle. We also ordered a green tea. It was okay but nothing overly exciting. I expected more, considering how hyped this place is. Everything was nice overall. However the orders took forever and I could see the young workers were very overwhelmed by the long queue and tiny kitchen they were working in. No the most efficient or friendly service but if you’re willing to wait it can be rewarding. I’m however not sure if the milk they used was off but I got the worst stomach after the hot chocolate.

A perfect place for cosy talks with a piece of delicious cake and coffee/tea. As a chocolate lover, I was glad to discover this place. Enjoyed the service and surroundings as well.

Amazing and interesting place. Eclectic decoration ... that only is worth a visit. As the names says it is about anything chocolate. The prices are a bit touristy but overall acceptable. Indulge in one if their cakes with a drink and taste one of their hand made chocolates with chili, caramel or Marc de Champagne. A great place to visit for desert ... having the salty part of lunch elsewhere and coming here to indulge in all things sweet. Remember that portions are HUGE ... so order easy. And try one of their chili chocies.

Found this cafe on Google when I really fancied to have a piece of cake. I got the house cake Talonkakku Pierre Marc de Champagne, so delicious! I love it a lot. The waitress is nice. Wish I’ll have another chance to visit this lovely cafe again to sit inside and have a drink with cafe. Highly recommend!

Wonderful cafe off the beaten path in Tallinn. Pastries made fresh daily and delicious espresso, cappuccino, and coffee. Bravissimo!!

Very rude staff. Either overwork too tired or don’t enjoy what they do. Overrated place. Absolutely no instructions from the staff if we should sit down or just queue up to get our drinks. It’s a mess. But the ice coffee is good hence two star instead of one.

Both cakes we’ve had were great and you could taste pure chocolate. Decoration was unique and gets you the “old” atmosphere. Stuff was kinda bored and could do a lot better!

  • 4/5 Thomas H. 2 years ago on Google
Cozy atmosphere that seems to be the same as when the cafe was founded in 1937. The place looks like a fortune teller’s “office”. A bit overpriced though.

I stumbled upon this place and it looked so cute I had to go in. Very unique decorations with pre-world war 2 music playing in the background. I ordered a Tallinn hot chocolate. The price was a bit high but worth it. It is like drinking a chocolate bar! Delicious

Layered cheesecake type of creation is what I received as a surprise from my boyfriend. It had cherries and some alcohol, the latter really dominated and it didn’t taste fitting, more like overpowering. It was also way too sweet for my preference.

Lovely place for some cake and hot drink. We sat outside enjoying super good weather on November. Very good place for rest after walking around old town.

This place is adorable and the service is really friendly. The ambiance is spot on. We really enjoyed the homemade apple cheese tart and the decadent chocolate fudge cake. Had a nice coffee and hot chocolate as well. Best thing was how kind and welcoming the server was! Will definitely be back.
