Tried
the
lunch
special...
not
bad!
This
part
of
Tallinn
is
not
good
for
"cheap
eats"
-
it's
the
centre
of
the
tourist
zone,
so
there
are
lots
of
places
that
want
to
charge
€12
and
up
for
a
meal.
(Hint:
If
you
are
in
any
Tallinn
restaurant
or
pub
at
lunch
time,
ask
if
there's
a
daily
special
--
it
will
often
be
half
the
price
of
anything
else
on
the
menu.)
In
any
case,
this
place
had
a
sign
outside
for
an
"XXL
Burger
and
Fries"
for
€6.90,
which
was
a
pretty
good
deal.
The
burger
was
as
large
as
promised,
very
saucy
(I
had
to
eat
it
with
a
knife
and
fork)
and
it
indeed
came
with
fries
and
a
small
"cole
slaw"-style
salad.
Oh,
and
in
keeping
with
Estonian
custom,
it
had
what
any
American
would
call
"half
cooked"
bacon.
Ask
for
the
bacon
crispy,
if
you;d
prefer
it
that
way!)
I
had
a
beer
with
it,
which
cost
me
another
€5,
and
then
it
didn't
feel
like
quite
as
good
a
deal,
but
that's
my
fault
for
not
checking
the
beer
prices
before
I
ordered.
The
restaurant
is
relatively
cozy
inside.
It's
got
an
assortment
of
older
furniture
-
so
yeah,
maybe
not
all
that
different
from
a
"saloon".
Many
Tallinn
Old
Town
restaurants
are
very
small,
but
this
place
is
big
enough
to
seat
perhaps
30
people
before
running
out
of
room.
They
were
playing
90s
retro
videos
when
I
was
there
(weekday
noon-ish),
not
too
loud
(hey,
remember
"Hanson
-
MMMBop"?)
The
men's
bathroom
was
pleasantly
clean
and
not
disgusting,
which
was
nice.
Other
reviewers
have
complained
about
the
service.
In
my
one
experience,
the
wait
staff
(OK,
there
was
only
one
waitress,
although
another
arrived
to
start
work
just
as
I
was
leaving)
was
attentive
and
pleasant
enough.
I
can
see
how
it
might
quickly
get
busy
and
make
it
hard
for
the
wait
staff
to
keep
up.
All
in
all,
not
a
bad
option
for
a
lunch
in
Old
Town.
