Very interesting place, many exhibitions, which are very professionally prepared. To visit the castle and really enjoy all the attractions of the 🏰 a few hours are recommended. Good for children, interesting lesson of regional history starting from vikings. Recommended

Day 2 - A 6 hour 340km mainly forested drive and short ferry hop from Riga in Latvia to Saaremaa Island in NW Estonia. The main purpose being to visit fairy tale Kuressaare castle. If you like castles then you will like this one. Gorgeous day out and I’m getting used to trees!🌲🌲🌲

Very nice place to visit. Recommend to not leave coats in dressing room in cold weather. Usually they have open rooftop to see surrounding areas.

Really cool castle and museum. The museum may come forward as bit non-systematic and perhaps could benefit from more general exhibition (true focus on Saaremaa, and it is understandable) or more modern exhibition. But the castle is great, great views to the fortifications and true feel of a medieval castle living. The park within the fortifications and around the picturesque central castle is free and is worth a visit even without visiting the central castle.

Amazing castle inside and beatiful outside. Make sure you visit it in the evening to see it in the night lights. Adult ticket 10€, but there is a family ticket 25€ too.

Well conserved castle with beautiful surroundings and gardens. There are parts that you have to pay to visit, but most of the areas are free and open to everybody. Worth the visit if you go to Kuressaare.

Beautiful medieval castle. To get inside the castle you need to buy a ticket. 10€ for an adult. Since we were short of time, we just walked around the castle grounds. There is an old windmill. Well maintained environment.

It's a beautiful castle with a lot of history. You can find many exhibitions, and each exhibition has its own story to tell. You need to buy a ticket.

Littlebit old-fashioned. I mean no interactiveness for the kids of today. Still interesting and worth to visit. Personell nice and friendly. I guess needs updating in the sense of new generation...

It was insightful to learn more about the castle history and a bit of the island history. You would need to spend the whole day if you want to read through everything and explore every bit of it.

Tosi kiva alue, kaunis.

Lovely museum! The exhibitions were nicely organised, interesting and informative. The castle itself is also very well-kept and newly renovated. A must if you're visiting Kuressaare!

As of June 2023 it was 10 Euros for standard entry into the castle. To enter and explore the grounds it was free. We opted for self guided but to get the most out of a visit its best to do a guided tour or opt for an audio guide.

Good castle though the permanent exhibition feels like it could be updated slightly a lot of the interactive exhibits don't work and the information is slightly dry. However there is this handsome fellow so who's to say if it's good or bad.

Wow, what a place. Every room has a different story to tell, well worth a visit which could take you ages to complete. Beautiful surrounds too

One of the must visits when in Kuressaare. Almost every year there’s something new. Exciting and historical, picturesque.

Don't just see the outside. Buy a ticket and tour the inside as well. There is an interesting Russian museum. The chapel is also worth visiting. And finally, the defence wall is a must see. Views are great.

Beautiful place, so well preserved. The surroundings are stoning. I came in a Bolt event, but I’m willing to back here with my family. The museum is nice and it is inside the castle. You are able to walk in the castle. Recommended

Okay to visit for few hours to see history and some local views. Ticket is about 10 euros for adult. Few surrounding areas within the castle area are free of charge.

Extremely beautiful place, great outdoors. Historical facts presented. Children friendly, they even have a small playground. Entrance fee in the castle is 10€ per person.

Many (but not all) labels and information boards in Russian. The castle and museum is a bit of a maze, and it's easy to miss some of the interesting areas if you lose track! It is possible to walk on the ramparts... but there is a slope and no fall protection so be careful

👍👍 Excellent experience, we spent with family around 2,5 hours. There is so much to do. Torture devices, candle making, weapons and armory, woodwork, coin make, jousting, shooting with bow and much more... Argo showed us around and explained about what is what and how was used, very detailed, he knows...
