I recently went on a trip to Estonia and visited the second city of the country: Tartu! Have you heard about this city? 🇪🇪 It is also called the intellectual capital of the country! And that is for a reason! 😊 The city is full with concert halls, art galleries, theaters, events, creative neighbourhoods and lovely places for food and drinks. Enjoy the pictures and stay tuned for for the article! 📕

Th Botanic Garden is very beautiful and the maintenance is amazing too. The huge variance of plant make that place amazing. The garden is located very close of the central area of Tartu. I would say that the accessibility is good. I recommend this place for friends and family meetings.

Beautiful oasis in the middle on Tartu. Most beautiful in the June when everything is starting to bloom (Peonys and after that roses) and is extra green but you'll find always and every day something new. One of the best places just to walk and enjoy the beautiful weather. You can also have a picnic or play with children on the grass and playground area on the other side of the park. In winter time it is good idea to check in the glass houses! I would say that if you come to Tartu just for a few hours then it would be good idea to visit Botanical Garden and Werner cafe (although there are other good cafes also close by like Tüümian and Säde). You can just walk in into the garden, no ticket but when visiting glass houses then there is separate ticket. PS! If you're really looking then you may see cat and a squirrel who are living there. PS2! Of course all photos are made by myself in this exact botanical garden during my visits.

When everything is cold outside, you enter into a wonderful heaven of plants and animals. The entrance ticket is 5 euros, and it completely worths it. There is much to see... for instance, the difference between the cold snowy of the outside and the miraculous green and warm of the inside. Its majestic. The air, the green surrounding the whole place. As me, I'm sure that you would be delighted to experience the Botanical Gardens of Tartu !

Very peaceful spot with indoor and outdoor space. Entrance is free for local students, which is also a plus! Have spent time studying upstairs in the greenhouse as they have a few tables and free wifi :)

We were shocked to discover that entrance for the gardens is free. It was magical! My toddler loved the jungle feel and all the "secret" passages. End if juneis perfect for peony lovers as they were blooming fully. A little harder to manage with stroller, but we still loved it. A little playground inside as well. Totally recommend!

Wonderful hide away for nature and plant lovers in the middle of Tartu city. Allkind of plants starting from tiny and modest ending with big and flashy from all over the world. Plants are marked with label tags. Also many learning information plates around the park. Really piecefull place with wonderful views landscaped to look half natural half manmade. Many sculptures by different estonian artists are placed around the park. Most of those labeled with artpiece and artist name. Outside area is free of charge. I suggest to visit several times during the year to see the garden change during different seasons.

Beautiful garden. Not big but you get lost easily discovering so many plants. There's also an exclusive area just for roses. We also found a cat there, so it was totally worth the visit.

Entrance is free to the gardens. €5 per person for the greenhouse but absolutely worth it. I was blown away by the carefully constructed design of these gardens. You’re taken on a journey and there is a surprise around every corner. The palm house has a brilliant selec of mature tropical planting, with the unexpected bonus of freshwater turtles! A hidden gem of tranquility in the city.

A lovely place kept with extreme care. The external garden is open to everyone, no ticket required, just walk in and enjoy it. I love to walk there and it's a refreshing oasis of beauty in Tartu. Many different plants and flowers with lively pathways around the lake or up to the hill. Very well taken care of. Just remember to bring with you a mosquito repellant when visiting in the summer!

Lady at the reception was so kind to us. She told us everything about botanical gardens, give us some advices about what to look at and also she made a few jokes! - that is so unexpected in Estonia. We get through the garden really quickly, but there are many places where you can just sit and chill for a moment.

Bigger than expected. Just the garden outside can be enough, if you don't have much time for a visit. The palm house inside also is home to some cute turtles.

Paljon kasveja esillä keskellä talvea. Hyvin pääsi seurailemaan myös papukaijoja ja kilpikonnia.

Great place; exactly what you want a botanical garden to be. There is a wide variety ofbplamts and fun paths to walk, you can easily soend an hour or two here if you just want to walk, or longer if you want to sit, relax, or lie down a bit. You can also buy some cheap ice cream in the main building.

Upea paikka! Monissa muissa kasvitieteellisissä on museokauppoja. Kävijät ostaisivat varmaan mielellään kirjoja kasveista, paikan historiasta ja taimiakin voisi myydä.
