To me covid has done to the artisans of cultural centre more harm than good. The centre no longer functions as it use to be. More shops has also been closed down πŸ˜”.. but the few opened still got very good and beautiful stuff ... let's visit and support the cultural centre

It's one stop center for the collection of Ghanaian artifacts from across the many cultural groupings in the Ghana. Within the about 70 metres square vicinity, one could have access to the 'technologies' of the Ghanaian geniuses as well as links to the cultural heritages found in other regions of Ghana. It also has a theatre for occasions. These make it OK. However, the visual effects of the structures and the look of the compound brings to mind that more can be done to achieve excellence. Otherwise, it still remains the one stop center in the Northern Region of Ghana where you can find the most pressing cultural display of Ghanaian artifacts from across all other parts of Ghana .

It is one of the most appropriate places to learn about the culture of Ghanaian Ethnic groups. A place to obtain Ghanaian artifacts.

There are so many craft shops, hairdressers, weavers, restaurants etc. This is a place where one can go buy local manufacture items such as the Bolga hats and other traditional attires

I love the Cultural Center in Tamale. Every time I go, it's a different experience. I especially like going to Gariba Designs, they have the coolest stuff. Also I love when I can watch the dancers and drummers of the Tahma Cultural Troupe. Check out this video I made about the Cultural Center: https://youtu.be/-cNGkTUf7co

As far as I can make out, this place is used as a venue for various arts events, I once attended a live concert here. However its title makes it sound like it's a place to visit at any time, and most of the time it's rather dead. There are numerous small craft shops, spots (bars) and a restaurant in this area but no big ticket draw to bring people in. I'm rather sad for the businesses. It's a shame because I remember this place buzzing 10 years ago when there were loads of NGOs working in Tamale and the Sparkles restaurant was one of the venues the ex-pats hung out at. Sadly both the NGOs and Sparkles are just memories.

The Tamale cultural center has got a conducive atmosphere for holding programs. Yet a few must-have things are missing. Their furniture isn't the best, the building isn't really wheelchair accessible as well. Last time I visited they lacked a projector. So if you're looking for a venue for a program which will require a projector, I suggest you rent one before going. The cost of renting the place is however very affordable.

It's hard to find. They could put a little order. It might be useful for a tourist. Fortunately, there are a few small shops where you can buy gifts.
