Uprise Travel handled all aspects of my recent trip to Ghana to participate in 2019 Year of Return tourism initiative. From picking us up at the airport to taking us back, they had it covered. Additionally, it was an extraordinary experience for me because the tour guide and driver took time to provide personal and historical perspectives that enhanced the trip. I highly recommend this company if you're interested in experiencing Ghana at its best.

Deciding to travel to Ghana was a very challenging experience for me. With so many questions and doubts not knowing who to put my trust in to make my life long experience a reality, Upon further research and reading the reviews of fellow individuals who have decided the same fate for themselves as I, I decided I was going to contact Uprise Travel to further arrange my journey to Ghana, after all they seemed reputable, trustworthy, and honest but still I had my doubts. Upon speaking with the staff at uprise travel, who were extremely friendly, warm welcoming, and readily available to answer all of my questions and address all of my concerns, I decided to put my faith in uprise. The Money exchange to cover the cost of my trip was painlessly transferred from myself to uprise using PayPal a secure service that guarantees transaction exchanges utilizing their service, surely that put my mind at ease just in case I was getting scammed. Upon submitting payment, trip details were prepared and sent to me via email for my review, it was solidified and I was officially traveling to Ghana!!!! Fast forward to today as I write this review my experience with Uprise Travel was nothing short of perfect. From the hotel accommodations, to my Amazing travel guide(Edna) who I have grown to love so much, to travel arrangements and the selection of activities I took part in while there I have became a new person because of it. This trip was just not a vacation, but a life changing experience. I am forever grateful and sincerely thank Uprise travel for all they have done. I recommend Uprise Travel to All both Male and female, young and old, even the animals if they would like to experience Africa as well. I assure those doubtful minds you will not be disappointed, and maybe will even gain a family In Ghana as I have with Uprise.

One Day Mole National Park Safari and Tamale City Tour (Ghana) I’m a 24 year-old solo traveler from the USA. Adam was my tour guide and he was extremely kind and knowledable. I felt safe at all times and enjoyed every aspect of my tour. If you are pressed for time and want to experience some wildlife and the Northern region of Ghana this is the tour for you. I highly recommend them and hope to book with them again in the future to experience other West African countries.

Our experience with Uprise was second to none! An excellent service. Initially we only booked a car, which was a very nice trip along the eastern side of the country. With Musah, our driver, we had a lot of fun, he's really nice and takes care of everything. He even made us some proper coffee, a thing very hard to find in Ghana. Furthermore, Musah advised us how to plan the last part of our trip, which we had not done yet. His tips exceeded our expectations! Lastly, Uprise had an adequate respons to a minor hiccup we encountered. I would definitely recommend Uprise Travel, since I'll use their outstanding services again when returning to Ghana.

Uprise Travel is phenomenal! As a young female solo traveler I just finished a week tour of Ghana and loved every minute of it (and felt safe!). They were so accommodating with helping me create an itinerary that included everything I wanted to see/ do, especially since I wanted to see a few different regions. My trip was the perfect combo of adventure/ culture that helped me create memories I would never forget. My guide/ driver Bright was the BEST (request him if you can, although all the members of the Uprise Team are awesome!) This organization really does everything right including the little things. For example, they assisted me with obtaining my visa, exposed me to new foods, made sure my hotel room was properly prepared, and helped my mother contact me when I didn’t have phone service. I’ve been with a few travel groups in the past and Uprise is definitely on the top of my list! You can tell they genuinely care about you as a traveler and want to make sure you enjoy every minute of your trip. My parents were really impressed with them and I honestly can’t wait to book another trip with them!

Just wrapped up our 10 day tour, and I cannot recommend Uprise Travels enough. Not only did we get to travel to many tour sites, but also experience the heart and culture of Ghana. Our tour guide answered every question, always made sure we were comfortable, and worked hard to give us as many opportunities as possible to be immersed in Ghanaian ways of life. We had an amazing time and are already planning our return visit.

We spent 8 days in Ghana in the very capable and friendly hands of Uprise Travel. Our trip, though short, was jam-packed. More specifically, we flew north to Mole National Park where we saw elephants, monkeys, baboons, warthogs, and many beautiful deer-family ungulates. Then we flew back to Accra and then traveled west to Elmina for the slave castle there, a profound experience. After over-nighting at a beautiful beach and visiting an elementary school in the morning, we then went back east and north to the Volta region and the Wli waterfall. In addition to these sights, we learned about animals, marriage, funerals, politics and history. Our drivers were not only safe; they also knew how to navigate Ghana's roads and traffic styles. I had never been on a fully guided tour before, and now I see how important a guide is. We had two different guides, and both were friendly and knowledgeable. By the end of our time together, we felt connected and grateful to them. Not everything was perfect--for instance we had no hot showers for several days, and even our cool water was sometimes a trickle--but traveling in foreign countries can throw you curve balls and jog you out of your comfort zone. Those things were small when compared with the magnitude of the good experiences that we had. Hot water notwithstanding, all of our accomodations were clean and comfortable. One other detail: Our tour price was all-inclusive, and this meant that our guides were always the ones dealing with the bills for meals, accomodations, fees for various parks and attractions, and they handled whatever tips were appropriate. We completely trust Uprise Travel. We were lucky enough to meet many of their staff, and we found them to be professional, friendly, thorough, and dependable. We have already talked about going back and trying Uprise Travel's Senegal tour next time.

We just returned from a 9 day tour of Ghana with Uprise. It was an amazing experience! We had a wonderful visit to Mole National Park where we were amused by the warthogs and baboons and saw plenty of elephants and other large animals. James was our driver and guide during our visit to Mole. He also showed us around the city of Tamale. James politely got us everywhere safely and on time. He grew up in the north and lives there now with his family. He taught us so much about the culture and lives of the people who live in the northern part of Ghana. We then toured the Cape Coast area with our guide, Emmanuel, and our driver, Fred. Our first stop was Elmina Castle which was a truly moving experience. We went to the local fish market, wondered through a fishing village, visited a local school that was situated right on the beach, ate fresh coconut from a street side vendor and ended our day at a lovely beachside resort. We had such a wonderful experience seeing and doing things that we would never have felt comfortable doing on our own. Emmanuel was with us everywhere and told us about the history and people and made us feel totally safe and at ease in his country. Emmanuel and Fred continued as our guide and driver when we went to the Volta region. It is a stunningly beautiful area where we got a sense about how people live in these small villages. Seeing the women in the beautiful African style bright colored clothing and men, women and children adeptly carrying large loads balanced skillfully on their heads was fun for us as westerners. Wli falls was a treat! The monkey sanctuary was delightful. Even the torrential rain storm that we were caught in briefly added to the fullness of our adventure in the Volta region. We ended our trip in Accra and made a visit the art market, among other things. Emmanuel even helped us with bargaining for the things we wanted to buy. Uprise Travel made this trip easy and fun for us from beginning to end.

My wife and I visited Ghana and had a fantastic experience with Uprise Travel. We had some rough ideas about the kinds of things we wanted to see and had had some interactions with other travel companies. From the very beginning, Uprise was clearly best in terms of their responsiveness, prices, and especially thoughtful ideas about how best to organize our trip. When it came to the trip itself, Musah was our guide and drove us for several days straight across three regions of Ghana. We've had lots of great travel experiences in many countries, but that was one of the very best anywhere by far. Everywhere we went, Musah was full of insights about local activities, food, and culture, in addition to be incredibly enthusiastic and kind.

We researched many tour companies before booking our Uprise tour for 10 days in Ghana, Togo and Benin. We wanted a tour that included culture, history, and West Africa's natural beauty. We exchanged many emails and phone calls with Uprise and had our questions about the itinerary, travel visas, accommodations and other details answered with so much care and attention. Musah was the first face we saw coming out of the baggage claim in Accra and he wisked us off to a wonderful welcome dinner and orientation to Ghanaian food and culture. Our tour quickly began to feel like a road trip with an incredibly knowledgeable friend. As we passed through neighbourhoods and towns, Musah shared stories about the people who lived in each, where they came from, and how they spend their days. We were interested in schools and universities and Musah adapted the itinerary to include visits to University of Ghana and Cape Coast University. Uprise is part of the fabric of the countries they travel to - our guides in Ghana, Togo and Benin love their countries and shared knowledge, stories and history that made these places come to life for us. It was a trip of a lifetime, and we are so happy to have been introduced to Ghana, Togo and Benin through Musah, Bruno, Jeremias and Edmond. We are already recommending Uprise to friends planning to visit West Africa, and we are planning our next trip with Uprise. We will be back soon!

Best Transport Service in Ghana We made use of Uprise Travel for transfers between Tamale International Airport and Mole National Park for a few weeks. They were always on time and the drivers are friendly, very safe and road conscientious. Theyhave been very helpful and accommodating, even with last minute changes and bookings. Keep up the great work guys! - Bushskies Aerial Photography Team -

Had a great experience with Uprise Travel. Arranging the trip went smoothly, always got quick replies and it was possible to adapt our preferences without any problem. Our guide Emmanuel was the sweetest and a very good guide. You could notice he was passionate about his job and really wanted to give us the best experience. He always took into account our preferences and had great ideas about what to do or what not to do. Our driver Kweku was also a great guy and a very good driver. Although the roads could be challenging, we always felt safe! In three days we saw the beautiful nature of Volta Region, had an even more beautiful boat ride on Lake Volta, visited a cocoa farm, botanical garden and hiked to the Tagbo and Wli Falls. The accomodations were all beautiful, clean and comfortable. In short, we saw a lot of beautiful things, always felt safe and had a lot of fun with our 2 great guides!

Uprise is by far the best tour company in West Africa. It's about time someone got it right, and these guys have nailed it. The guides (Moses and James) were fabulous. They were knowledgeable, courteous, very focused on safety, and a joy to spend time with. I did a two day safari in Mole National Park, toured the Volta region and did a one day tour of Accra. Uprise made all three very special. I would recommend them to any traveler without hesitation. No one else comes close.

First, I want to say that I absolutely love Uprise Travel! the staff were so kind and professional from the beginning at booking and throughout the entire experience. My travel agent Ms. Anita was phenomenal by ensuring all of questions were answered in a timely fashion and that my travel request was honored. All of my lodging, meals, and transportation was wonderful! Most importantly my tour guide EDNA was AMAZING!!! She was very knowledgeable about all of the places we traveled and had a wealth of knowledge about the county all together. Edna ensured my safety at all times. She was very polite and professional and a great sister to hang out with. Edna made me 1st trip to Ghana most memorable by being authentic and lots of fun throughout our entire adventure! Lastly, I was privilege to be able to visit and meet all the staff at Uprise Travel in person and everyone was very welcoming and made me feel like family. I would absolutely recommend Uprise Travel to EVERYONE who wants to explore Ghana authentically.

I honestly don’t know where to start. My experience with Uprise Travel has been nothing but positive. I have had the pleasure of interacting with more than 5 staff and they are all great. My relationship with Uprise started in 2019 with me planning a group trip to Ghana for Dec 2020, we had no clue that Covid would come along and change our plans. I initially reached out to get a feel for the company and honest feared booking a tour company with so little reviews and social media presence. After a great convo with Eric and Musah and being assigned to Nella to customize an itinerary, I knew I wanted to book Uprise Travel. Fast forward a few months and COVID changed all plans. Our amazing trip had to be pushed out 1 more yr. Uprise never fell off or got quiet. Unfortunately, Nella left but we were quickly reassigned to Freda. Over the year, my group changed several times and Freda accommodated each change with no problem. Our group started with 16 and ended with 9. Uprise was very transparent with changes in cost and changes in plans to our itinerary. Our tour was 12/27/2021-1/6/22 and we decided to stay in Accra until 1/10/22. Uprise helped and supported our group until we were dropped off at the airport (past our tour), including covid testing needed to travel back to the US. They also supported our group several days before the tour started. We all arrived 1-2 days prior to tour starting. I can write a novel about how amazing our trip was. I WOULD NOT CHANGE 1 THING ABOUT THE TOUR!! Emmanuel was our tour guide and Frances was our driver. Emmanuel is so amazing I am worried about sharing his greatness because he may be too big to book when we want to use Uprise again 😊. Frances came with 40yrs of driving experience and it showed! We all teared up speaking about how wonderful they are and how hard it was to leave. Uprise is professional, educated, flexible, friendly, caring and fair. The pricing for the experience you get is amazing. It truly felt like we were visiting and touring Ghana with family. Emmanuel made sure we were safe at all times and advocated for us whenever needed. Musah checked in with our group and also offered a lot of additional support over the 2yrs of planning. If you are reading this review and wondering if you should book with Uprise Travel, GO FOR IT! You will not regret it! Tell them Salina sent you…after 2yrs of planning, 2 weeks of touring, & 12+ hrs of travel across Ghana we are all cousins! LOL Oh and yes…Ghana is everything everyone says it is…ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Make the best of your trip and book a tour with Uprise!

I had an amazing 9 days in Senegal for my solo tour. Mamoudou and Cheikh were my guide and driver. Both super helpful and efficient. I believe them being from the country we toured made for a more authentic and immersive experience. We would see people that they knew and were friends with while out and about and everyone made me feel welcome and accepted. Activities were planned in advance and the process was so thorough and seamless. They were also really accommodating and let me change the schedule as needed. It was just an amazing process from booking to completion. I fully intend on using Uprise again for my next visit to west Africa!

I highly recommend the Cultural Heritage tour for all children of the Diaspora and doubly recommend having Uprise Travel usher you through this journey. From the time of the inquiry UpriseTravel was extremely professional and responsive, working with us to crest the experience we wanted. Once booked Freda checked in with us to ensure that we had everything we needed for a successful trip. Five days before our departure Uprisetravel set up a WhatsApp Chat group to introduce us to our guide. Upon arrival at the Airport in Accra, we did not have to look for the Uprisetravel agents as they found us as soon as we came through the doors. We were greeted with a cheerful, warm welcome by Edna and YaYa that made us immediately feel like we were home. Once Edna got a settled in our hotel, they took up to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch and trip orientation. From that point on Edna ensured that we were able to see and experience everything we thought we wanted and even some we never knew of. I can’t even begin to capture all of the enlightening facts and sites we heard and saw during our 10 day journey across Ghana’s southern region, it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Uprise Travel is an absolutely fabulous company! A friend and I wanted to visit certain areas of Ghana and Uprise prepared a nine-day itinerary to include everything we asked for and then more! The communication with the company in planning the trip was excellent. Once we arrived in Ghana, our guide and driver met us at the airport and took care of us 24/7. Our guide has a remarkable knowledge of history, geography, etc., and best of all----a great sense of humor! We had SO much fun! We couldn't have asked for anyone better. (I want to adopt him but his Mom won't let me). Our driver was the best that I've ever had in any country. He could navigate in any situation which is pretty remarkable, particularly with the traffic in Accra. He is genuinely one of the kindest people I've ever met. These gentlemen took us from James Town Fort and others near Accra, Kofiridua which is a town famous for traditional bead making, the Aburi Botanical Gardens, the palace in Kamasi in the Ashanti region, local villages, including one that is famous for kente weaving traditions, St. George's castle in Elmina (UNESCO world site), and we even went across the seven top bridges in the forest canopy in the Kakum National Park. The trip provided me with an excellent perspective of such a wonderful friendly country and a an excellent, but different perspective, for my friend who is African-American and wanted to "go home". Uprise is fortunate to have such wonderful staff and we were fortunate to have Uprise! Many thanks to them for such a memorable experience!

This was my second trip to Ghana and my first using Uprise Travel. As someone who has traveled before on my own, I was excited to finally experience a guided tour around and see sights and monumental locations that I had not experienced previously. Additionally, I had the privilege of traveling with my family and church family where we all shared a common interest of learning more about the experiences of our ancestors. As a big group, I was not only surprised but very grateful that the tour guides that worked with our group payed special attention to all of our needs, requests, and desires. The tour company did a wonderful job of tailoring our activities to what we wanted as well as making suggestions that enhanced our vacation. Our travel guides gave us all we needed and more for both health reasons and for all the things that we needed to have a full rounded Ghanian experience. From local foods, amazing beach experiences, to authentic castle guides, to rope bridges that made you see nature from an extravagant view.I was more than elated with my trip with Uprise Travel and I would more than recommend Uprise Travel for your travel experience to Ghana.

A group of friends and I (total of 5) booked a trip with uprise for 9 days, 8 nights. The process of creating a custom itinerary and booking was easy. We had complete transportation, activities, and food and drinks included for the entire stay. The price was reasonable considering everything included. The team Emmanuel (tour guide) and John our driver were both amazing. They were very flexible as things needed to be changed around sometimes and late pick ups on days we partied late. Emmanuel was very knowledgeable on his countries history and good local spots to eat. Because he was well known it brought perks such as allowing us to bypass lines or get a table at a restaurant sooner. He also cooked breakfast for us a few morning at our Airbnb because my group was a little slow in the mornings lol. We toured Accra and cape coast and they stayed with us the entire time. It was very comforting to personally know someone who knows the native language and was only a phone call away. I would definitely recommend uprise for future travelers. Thank you so much Uprise team for everything!

Uprise Travel took lemons and made the best ever lemon aid, I was previously booked with another tour company that three days before travel canceled the trip. I reach out to an Uprise affiliate and immediately Freda Ofosu of Uprise called me. The arrangements were flawless made and off I went to Ghana for the Year of Return. Bright Obene Kissi was the best tour companion I could ever asked for....this was a trip of a life time, of which I will never forget......Thank you Bright and thank you UpRise

We rented their Pajero and driver to drive around Tamale and Mole, drive from Accra to Elmina and back, and an airport drop off for all of us and our bags in Accra. We were always taken care of and able to call Moses if there were any difficulties. All of our drivers were competent and kind and very willing to make stops or go where we wanted. A great experience!

We recently returned from a 7 day educational tour of Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi with a group of 11 based out of the University of Waterloo (Canada). We had the widest range of diversity in our group; from teenage university students, to civil servants, to secondary school educators, to retirees. On paper, it was probably one of the most difficult groups to accommodate. Each person had unique needs and wants. Plus, it was the first time they had been to Ghana. The service provided by Musah, Francis, and Emmanuel was spectacular. But what made this team (up)rise above all the others, is their attention to the needs of each traveller. And this moves beyond simply accommodating dietary restrictions or tailoring the itinerary for a wide-range of physical abilities. It spoke to Musah's leadership in understanding the psychology of travelers to West Africa, and being in tune with personalities. I say this is the most important part of leading a tour company in any part of the world. I'm looking forward to many more trips with Musah and Uprise.

From the educations, historical, cultural and adventure aspect of the trip, everything was amazing. Having the opportunity to interact with the culture, the advice, safety and information provided my Mousa was unparalleled. His advice guidance ensured that our trip was successful If you are going to any of these areas that are on the itinerary, you will surely not be disappointed. Thank you for helping me connect to my African roots.

Where does one start! Amazing! From the time I stepped off the plane, to the time we had to leave, Uprise Travel did not disappoint! They went out their way to ensure our experience was unforgettable. But the real blessing is the family you create with this travel group! Our tour guide Emmanuel deserves🥇.He was fun, high energy, the man with the master plan! Very knowledgeable and easy going, he is definitely considered family now! And John, 🏆, He was an amazing driver, and pleasure to be in his presence. I could write a novel after this experience! But when i return home, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that Uprise would not be my first the choice to travel with. Thanks for everything!

I had a wonderful two day tour in Accra with Uprise Travel and was very pleased with this company and the customer service. I had called at the last moment and they were kind enough to accommodate me. A few notable items about this tour company: -The car was large, comfortable, stylish and clean. -My guide, the owner, Musah, spoke 9 languages and was smart, kind, and knowledgeable. -This company was flexible to customize the tour to my interests and wants and always was professional and made sure that all my needs were met and that I felt safe at all times. They have a large staff and gave me the option of having a female tour guide. -This is the best tour company I used in my two month around the world travel and would definitely use them again in the future as they actually run tours all over Africa including Safaris!

My partner and I decided to travel to Ghana for the Year of the Return 2019, and had very little time to prepare. We looked online for suggestions, and Uprise Travel's website was by far the best and most comprehensive. Their tour packages were diverse and customizable. Immediately we decided on the Cultural Heritage Tour as it would be our first trip to Africa and we wanted to get a sense of our roots. From the moment we contacted Uprise they became a true partner on this life-changing journey. We heard back from them within 12 hours, and they kept up the prompt communication as we worked to complete all of the necessary arrangements -- including getting the travel visas and the Yellow Fever vaccines that Ghana requires of all travelers. Musah and Nella, in particular, were instrumental in making sure our preparations went as smoothly as possible. When we had trouble at the airport in Accra, Musah jumped on the phone with the official and solved the problem. As promised, our tour guide, Emmanuel, and driver, Kennedy, met us at the airport and were our constant companions for the whole trip. To say that they were friendly and helpful would be an understatement. They immersed us in Ghanaian culture and made sure we felt welcome every step of the way. Our itinerary was wonderful, but the way Uprise seamlessly incorporated surprise extras like a night out club-hopping in Accras and a moving naming ceremony in the Volta region blew us away. When we finally visited the two major slave castles in Cape Coast our guide made sure we had more than enough time to experience them and to process the overwhelming emotions that came up in the aftermath. Everything was so thoughtfully and professionally planned. We will treasure this trip for a lifetime and plan to return to the region with Uprise's help in the near future.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Uprise Travel. Our guide, Emmanuel and our driver, Kobby were excellent in every respect. They were efficient, friendly and reliable and made our trip into a wonderful experience. Emmanuel went to great lengths to make our holiday special by taking us to places most tourists don't see and by getting us better seats, better service and better viewing places etc. at various attractions/activities. He also sorted out any minor glitches with our accommodation eg the shower bracket was broken in one hotel but was fixed by our return in the afternoon due to Emmanuel's intervention. Kobby was a safe and reliable driver with a good sense of humour. Both of them showed a great deal of care about our wellbeing and provided a very personalised service which made us feel valued as customers. I would highly recommend Uprise Travel to anybody contemplating going to Ghana

Visiting Ghana was a longtime dream for me and I cannot thank Uprise enough for making it happen! The communication leading up to the trip was phenomenal (thank you to the wonderful Naa!). We were greeted at the airport immediately upon arrival and absolutely everything was taking care of. Our guide Bright was brilliant; a skilled driver and very knowledgeable about the past and present history of the country, as well as just an all around invaluable resource in the day of our trip. My two friends and I are first time travellers with Uprise, and I would book with them again in a heartbeat (I hope to one day!) as well as recommend them to any family, friends, or strangers who ask! Thank you Uprise for a ten star trip and priceless memories that will last us all a lifetime!

My new wife and I recently visited Accra from Scotland for our honeymoon, and booked a 3 day trip to Mole National Park with Uprise Travel. We experienced loads of superb activities including jeep safaris, walking safaris and even a canoe safari, saw the most wonderful wild animals in their natural habitat in the most awe-inspiring and beautifully natural location one could wish for!!! We cannot express enough, how fabulous our tour guide AMINU was. He was extremely friendly, professional, helpful, fun, knowledgeable and respected by everyone he interacted with, and he genuinely and passionately cares about providing the best experience to all his guests. After we arrived back at Accra airport from Tamale, we were met with the most fabulous surprise - Uprise had arranged a very special surprise honeymoon dinner in a fantastic Indian restaurant in Accra. I can't recommend Uprise Travel highly enough, and will definitely be using them again!!!

I simply cannot say enough about Uprise Travel. They were so professional and took such great care of my family and I while we were in Ghana. They literally took care of everything and I was able to just sit back and enjoy my time in the country. From my first encounter with them, they took time to find out what we wanted and needed and tailored an experience just for us. Our tour guide Kwame and driver Kofi became family over the course of the 9 days. We traveled from Accra, to the Volta lake/rivers to Kumasi over to the Cape Coast and back to Accra and had the most amazing time. Ghana is such a beautiful country and its people were so warm and welcoming to us. Many thanks to Uprise travel for making our trip unforgetable!

My daughter and I are filled with deep flowing emotion and are forever connected to our homeland and Ghana. Every part of the trip was meticulously planned and executed. Our guide Kwame, is very knowledgeable and took such great care of us. It was important for me to give back and Kwame arranged a visit to the the Cape Coast School for Deaf/Blind. It was one of the most memorable moments of my time in Ghana. If you are planning a trip to Ghana, you will be in the best hands with the staff of Uprise Travel.

Visiting Ghana was definitely on my bucket list especially after doing 23&Me, and finding out that a significant portion of my DNA was Ghanaian. During the pandemic I decided that life is too short and really wanted to take my mother who is in her late 70s back to the motherland. My sister and I planned the trip for a couple of years so that we could mom’s celebrate her 78th birthday there. I was particularly interested in finding a locally-owned agency and Uprise Travel fit the bill. They were great at connecting and communicating, worked with me on a customizing the trip and were very affordable. The fee included a guide/driver, Kwame, all gas, all water and all accommodations tour experiences and maybe 95% of the food - which was fine because food is very inexpensive there. Actually, everything is very inexpensive. We had a choice between a regular and a premium package based on hotel cost. The regular package was fine with nice accommodations wherever we went. We spent most of our time traveling around the coast and south east corner of Ghana and had many wonderful experiences. The main drawback is that there was a lot of driving involved - mostly due to the condition of the roads. This was more of a cultural tour, because we really wanted to visit the slave dungeons on the Gold Coast. The next time we go, we will definitely visit the north of the country so that we can see more of the wildlife. The culture is also very polite so if you say you want to do something then they’ll do it even though it may not be the best idea so you have to be upfront and let them know that it’s OK to give an alternate recommendation based on their experience. Special shout out to Kwame, our guide and companion during our Ghana adventure! Kwame is a true reflection of the Ghanaian people with his friendly and welcoming nature, kindness, patience, knowledge, and willingness to converse about the country and people he loves so much. He even arranged a special birthday celebration for my mother, which we will never forget. We started out with a guide, but ended up with a new friend.

THANK YOU UPRISE & KWAME!!!! I am not one for leaving reviews, however, I can understand if you are someone looking for a trustworthy tourist company to choose from while exploring your options to visit Ghana. We were in the same shoes. Uprise, is a top-tier company! I really do not know any other way to put it but they made sure we were taken care of from the moment we landed to the drop-off at the airport. Kwame has spent time building relationships with all the hotels, restaurants, and excursions. We never waited for ANYTHING! Food waiting for us as we sat down, and rooms were ready and cleaned soon as we arrived, I've never felt so important! Everything was smooth, easygoing, and beautiful, and Kwame's knowledge of his culture and roots set the bar. I could write so much more, however, you just have to experience it for yourself. Definitely life-changing, NO SCAMS, and WE WILL BE BACK!! Thank You to the staff at Uprise!

So much to see in Ghana, Togo, and Benin. 4 of us went to see the annual voodoo festival in Benin and the experience was unforgettable thanks to Uprise. They are PROFESSIONALS in all aspects of their jobs, from sales to on the road guides. Itinerary was perfect with all included and diverse activities. If travel with Uprise and if you're lucky, you’ll get Kwame in Ghana, Josue in Togo, and Valetin in Benin!!!! They really made sure we had the best time in all 3 countries. I can't wait to see more of West Africa with Uprise!!!

My first trip and experience on the continent of Africa was very inspiring and moving. The Ghana tour we selected was very well planned, well emersed in the culture and people. Our tour guide (Emmanuel) did a great job interacting with the group and educating us on everything about Ghana. Our driver was (John) was also amazing and friendly. It was a trip that allowed me to connect to my heritage, roots and understand the history of my ancestors. I came back with a new perspective on life and motivated to share what I learn with others. Definitely want to go back to explore more of the country and the motherland.

While planning a milestone birthday holiday for my mom to visit Senegal and Ghana, I found Uprise Travel via a google search. Talk about the Ancestors looking out for me. As Uprise covers multiple countries, including the two we wanted to visit, it was more than luck to discover them, not to mention we were able to recycle Black dollars. This trip would be our first to West Africa and required service at an extremely elevated level. Our requirements were placed in the skillful hands of Freda. We did not want a cookie-cutter experience but one curated for us. Freda's knowledge and planning exceeded our expectations. When the plan was put into action, it was seamless. We enjoyed our guide/driver in Senegal, and the icing on the cake was being assigned Emanuel (guide) and Joseph (driver) in Ghana. We can confidently say we now have extended family. We travel the world and have had wonderful experiences. As a result, however, Musah and his team embodied AKWAABA.

The entire experience visiting GHANA was amazing with UpriseTravel From the airport pickup in Accra, to visiting Elmina Fisherman’s village, St. George’s and Cape Coast Castle, to Aburi Botanical Gardens Cultural stops: Independence square, Kwame mausoleum and memorial park, W.E.B Du Bois center, Black Star Gate and Makola Market. Exciting moments: The Kakum Canopy Walk (yes, I walked the highest and crossed all 7), Lemon Beach resort restaurant, massage on the ocean arranged by our tour host Bright from UpriseTravel, eating with the locals at various stops along the drive, chilling at Labadi beach (riding horses and ATV’s) shopping at the marketplace, truly just an amazing experience. Let’s not forget drinking palm wine 🍷 😋 Challenging: Getting to and from the Water Fall was challenging, but I did conquer LOL The best for me was visiting one of the schools arranged by UpriseTravel and my traveling buddy who is an educator, was fortunate to stand in front of an active classroom of students for a brief lesson. And then the reality of it all… On the banks of Pra River in the town of Assin Manso where captive slaves were made to take their last bath (…sold and shipped from their native land) I, AMA sink my feet in the rivers of these waters in remembrance. Special thanks to our tour guide Bright from UpriseTravel for the many connections he has, the respect shown and given him by all people. Bright, you truly made this experience live for for us. Thanks to Helina and Freda for your patience and staying in contact every step of the way.

I want to express how excellent this Tour company is in planning tours. We did a tour for one week in December 2021. It was excellently planned. We were picked up at the airport and they never left us until we returned for our departure. It was me and my sister. We gave them an open itinerary and they planned everything for us. All the hotels, transportation, meals and entertainment were superb. All the Uprise team members were friendly and polite. They took care of our safety all along our tour. I highly recommend you use this company for your tours in West Africa. My sincere thanks to Musah, Freda, Bright and all the Uprise team. WELL DONE.

This is an easy but hard review. I can write I had the time of my life in Ghana with Uprise travel. I can write that each and every destination was something different. That wont do this trip justice. Our tour guide Emmanuel was the correct person to show us "His" country. The love and knowledge he has for his country and people is noticeable right away. The energy he brought to this tour is unmatched. The professionalism. The courtesy. The smiles. The interactions. The determination. The overall experience with him was just to make sure our group of 9 was well taken care of. Our safety was always his number 1 goal at all times. Then came our happiness. He made catering to 9 people look easy. That's 9 different sets of needs, wants, expectations, thoughts, opinions, likes, dislikes, attitudes, and of course sense of humors. Needless to say, we stayed laughing on those van rides. He kept our heads moving from left to right as he pointed out historic landmarks. As he pointed out things no one else seen. As he told the story behind each piece of history. Each destination we went to had a purpose, at least for me it did. From arriving at the airport to being dropped back off at the airport. From Accra to the Cape Coast. All the villages we traveled through. It all had purpose. The guides we had at each location seemed like they were catered to our group. Each and everyone of them seemed to have a relationship with Emmanuel. That made our experiences unique. He taught us so much about his way of life that I found it too be fun haggling at the markets for a better price. I even wanted to ride a Tro Tro. But wisely chose against it. (Wife didn't want me to get lost) I cant say your experience will be the same as ours. I will not say that matter of fact. But I can say if you use anyone else besides Uprise, your not getting your "colorful" money worth. Your not going to get the team that comes with Uprise. You wont get Francis. One of the best drivers I've witness drive. But I do wish you luck on any adventure you do take and safe travels.....

For my 70th birthday I chose to visit the motherland, Ghana. I was charged with doing the organizing for the trip that included my siblings, kids, and spouses. There were eight of us. All I knew was we wanted to visit the door of no return at Cape Coast. Then the kids wanted a safari. I soon saw some of the trips being hosted by Uprise Travel. We took the leap and worked with Freda to design a trip that included the items of interested and we later added the WEB DuBois Museum. During the trip we visited Accra, Tamale, Mole National Park, and Cape Coast. Uprise did everything they promised and more. They assisted us with our visa applications, timely met us at the airport, the transports were adequate and comfortable. Most of all our guide Bright was a hero! He became a part of our family. He informed us, entertained us, and protected. Everywhere we went people knew him, he always had a smile and sought to make the best of every circumstance. Once we were a little ahead of schedule, he identified the local museum of world famed artist Ibrahim Mahama. It was most unexpected but fit right in, it is among the highlights of our trip. Bright did not know the trip was a celebration of my birthday until the actual day of; somehow, he arranged for a surprise birthday cake. He was always attentive and flexible. All of my group highly recommend Bright and Uprise.

I accompanied my son’s high school ‘Global Traveler’s’ group to Ghana from Brooklyn, NY, U.S.A. Eric made planning on our end as smooth as possible. He took the guess work out of coordinating the various requirements (obtaining visas, vaccinations, flights, etc) for our journey. He responded quickly to any inquiries we had and his responses were thorough and precise. From the moment we arrived in Accra, Musah and Adam took care of our group of 17 travelers with such high quality care! At all times our students and chaperones felt safe, prepared for every aspect of our trip and well-informed about the rich history and culture we encountered. Musah was great about informing us about the nuances of Ghanaian culture like behavioral expectations and appropriate attire for the many places we visited. This was especially helpful because we wanted to show respect to the natives at all times. Our itinerary was packed; each day was filled with informative and fun visits to some of the country’s most amazing museums, dining facilities, shopping centers and cultural landmarks. Musah’s coordination efforts made each day so fulfilling and effortless. Adam is a walking encyclopedia! He has a wealth of information and constantly educated us on the history of a multitude of landmarks and attractions. I came back to the states so much smarter because of Adam’s vast knowledge base. Our driver, Emanuel was ever so gracious and skilled on the road. He was so patient even as our group became notorious for impromptu stops to buy merchandise on traffic and use the restroom. He was polite, pleasant and super accommodating. He loaded and unloaded our luggage at least 6 times from the vehicle’s overhead compartment and did it with a smile each time. Since my return to the U.S. I have been raving about my experience in Ghana, courtesy of Uprise Travel. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for seamless, safe and fulfilling experience while touring West Africa. I definitely plan to use them again.

A Special Experience of Ghana Our recent 10-day holiday in Ghana was planned and arranged by Uprise Travel. I cannot praise them too highly for the care and attention to detail that made it such an interesting and enjoyable experience. Emmanuel was our guide and Kobby our driver for the tour and both of them were thoughtful, informative and cheerful companions. Emmanuel provided many insights and a lot of knowledge about Ghanaian culture, history and everyday life which added something extra every day of our trip. The willingness of both to respond to additional requests e.g. to observe Kente cloth weaving, and to visit a village Primary School, was both appreciated and heart-warming. Thank you Uprise Travel - and especially your staff representatives - for a memorable time in Ghana.
