Great location to start your walk about- view the giant Goddess of Mercy Statue then on to the shrine. Walking further past the souvenir shops would bring u to a route through the park/forestry reserve area with some stunning views of a suspension bridge. Quite a walk so do go prepped with walking shoes n light gear with a light jacket just in case the wind acts up. After approximately 45-60 mins into the walk there is a turn off on the left which is signed (unfortunately only in Kanji) which denotes the route down a series of broad steps to the caves. There’s refreshments n a short tour at the caves if one is interested. In front of the caves is a bus stop which one can catch the direct bus back to Takasaki Station, near to the stop is a nice Cafe situated opposite across the road from the bus stop. It serves excellent tea/coffee n cakes- a nice finishing touch to a great walk about. The owner is very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. They also do great dinners but we did not have the benefit of time to experience it. It was a wonderful day trip to experience Takasaki, Gunma.

Visited this Buddhist shrine & towering statue which you can climb the stairs inside. You can park at a lot before the location however be prepared to pay ¥500 which you can redeem back when you purchase something. I believe a free parking lot is located up the hill and to the left once you pass underneath the red bridge.

Nice little temple with a large kannon statue that you can climb stairs to her shoulders. There are hiking trails around the area and a couple of shops. Free parking.

The statue itself was absolutely beautiful. I would suggest coming to this area in the beginning of August as they have a lantern festival there. Unfortunately due to covid we weren't able to enter the statue, but we wandered around the beautiful area, where there were many little shops and attractions. Make sure to get here before 6 pm during lockdowns as they close quite early.

Very serence place. The statue is 41 meters high. You need a car to conveniently visit the temple. If you’re hopping on a bus, plan ahead and take the Kannonyama Bus # 13 or 14 at platform 8 in Takasaki bus terminal.

Beautiful scenery and worth the hike! Even though it was a holiday, the place isn't crowded. Tip: The place looks amazing during the golden hour in the afternoon. Details- May 4th, 4-6:00 PM

A typical Japanese Buddhist temple... can't walk to there from the jr station. But you can take the bus to the front. Nice place for sightseeing.

(Translated by Google) You can put it in the mother's womb from the back, but it is until 4:30 in the evening. (Get out by 4:30) Like Kannon of Ofuna, it is a masterpiece when you see it nearby! The nature walk route (about 15 minutes on foot) connects you to the cave Kannon, so it is highly recommended for those who want to see both. (Translated by Google) A big big Kannon that can be seen even from a distance. You can enter the womb, and you can see the city of Takasaki from the shoulder-high window of Kannon. Many Buddha statues are also enshrined in the womb. There is also an original red stamp book with Kannon drawn on the cover. A fun visit to a local monument towering over the city. An easy 30 minute diversion worth the experience and the views. Don't miss some wonderful hikes in the area as well accessible from the parking lot.

(Translated by Google) The disadvantage is that there is no parking lot, but there are municipal parking lots and pay parking lots for pickles (500 yen). Many roads were stopped, but I thought that I should just pay 500 yen or walk a little. If you walk up the slope, you will find a very nice main hall. Especially for me, the ceiling was nice. And Takasaki Shiroi Daikannon! He had a gentle expression. There is a charge, but you can also enter the womb. It was quite painful for me, who has a bad foot, but there are as many as 20 Buddha statues enshrined inside. Also, the view of Takasaki city was beautiful as seen from the small window.

This temple is set atop a forested hill on the outskirts of Takasaki, a medium-sized city. Its main feature is an enormous statue of the Buddhist goddess of mercy. For a cost of 300 yen, you can climb the statue via an internal staircase and peer out over the hills and forest.

Nice place to visit to spent the weekends. Sakura is very beautiful in this place on Sakura viewing season. Very popular place for family summer gatherings and Barbeque party. Accessible via bus but with limited time schedule. There are restaurants and souvenir shops around. There were vending machines near the Byakudei Kannon. The toilet was small and old style.

(Translated by Google) If you follow the rules, park your car in the 450 yen (municipal?) Parking lot and walk for about 10 minutes. (If you don't care about the inconvenience of the world, you can drive nearby, but it is a punishment for annoying parking) Walk along the approach road lined with souvenirs and head towards Kannon. If you go nearby, the size of the masterpiece If you want to benefit, we recommend you to sweat a little. I didn't notice the way, but from the parking lot, I could see Takasaki and Maebashi. Nice to see it from afar, looks nice, but I would put something else on the list if you want to visit just here. As in, if you plan to come here to see this, add something else in the area as this was a bit more underwhelming than I had originally anticipated. If you smoke, there is an ashtray at the base of the statue Infront, something you won't really see at places like this. PS.(The guy who writes your Goshuin is one of those that has a bad attitude)

Beautiful shrine with a surprisingly tall statue. For ¥250 you can take a tour up into the statue. It has little shrines to many God's with descriptions in Japanese. There are windows that let you view out at many different levels. The climb is up some pretty steep stairs with many places to fall, so I wouldn't recommend it to small small children or others who are clumsy. Peaceful, interesting, and impressive.
